Hi all,
I'm a regular visitor for Scranton from the UK as I have some projects going on in a local factory.
Whilst I'm here this week, id love to find somewhere to drop in on Monday evening, Wednesday Evening or Thursday morning for a BJJ class or open matt. I've tried contacting some places via a Google search but had limited response.
I was hoping someone in here would be able to give an actual recommendation for somewhere that would be open to someone from out of town dropping in and training.
Cheers, Luke.
The market is across the avenue from the post office. I want to buy some bottles of banana ketchup and spring roll wrappers. I've called the store a month ago and got no answer. The owner is an elderly lady so she might have retired or taken ill.

Been wanting to see some local music lately. I see that the band Dirty Hand plays late 90’s and 00’s Rock/Pop. Can anyone recommend any other local bands that play similar music to this era?
Hello All,
I was looking for recommendations for reputable movers in the Scranton area. My wife and I will be moving by the end of February. Thank you in advance.
I’m graduating in the spring with a degree in accounting and am looking to stay in the area. Does anyone know any good businesses that are hiring around here? (like GUARD) I checked online but can’t find many office jobs. I’d be open to working in accounting, finance, marketing, or anything business related. Thank you! (Maybe WB or Scranton area)
Hey all, I'm looking for place recommendations for Valentine's. Due to some scheduling issues, I wont actually be able to go on the day proper so I want recommendations for places to go on the 13th. Last year I was down in the Harrisburg area and went to LUCA so I am hoping for some place with a similar price range and quality. The closest that I have already been to in the area was Noir which was terrific but I would like to try something new. Also any other suggestions for things to do outside of just food is welcome as well.
Hi I recently acquired a Volvo SUV that's a few years old. I LOVE this car and would really like to make sure it's well taken care of. Does anyone have a recommendation for a mechanic that works on Volvos? Or has anyone had any experience with the Ken Pollock Volvo service department? Thanks everyone
A friend and I (both 28f) will be there for the tattoo expo in April and are always looking for new things to do from the previous year. We’ve been to Nay Aug and Evarhart museum, done the coal mine tour. We’ve been to the mall several times, and Bartari. We’ve also been to lahey family fun park. We’re willing to travel to within reason as we’ll be there for 5 days. Also open to a few more expensive ideas if you truly think they’re something that can’t be missed. Thanks in advance!
Hello, I’m in the band Year Twins and we are trying to book a small tour and I was curious if Scranton would be a good stop between Rochester and New York City to play a show. If anyone has any leads on Punk/emo/math rock bands and a place to play, please lead me in the right direction! Thanks!
Anyone know a good spot to watch the Eagles game tomorrow preferably Downtown, I thought about going to Bartari but I feel like their food has fallen off a bit. Anyone have any suggestions?
So I honestly didn't even know that was a thing, I had to park that way because my car was involved in a small fender bend and I didn't want to move it in case that caused more damage. I've done it before but I guess I just wasn't caught before. do they even keep up with these or can I just ignore it
This was in Wilkes Barre btw
Hi! There’s a chance my husband (31M) and I (31F) relocate to the Scranton area for a job. No kids and unsure if they’re in the plan. One dog. From NJ originally but have been living in NC for the past ten years.
Instead of asking for recs for areas to live (still open to any suggestions you have though!), I’d love for you to tell me where you’d take someone if you were trying to give them the full ‘Scranton’ experience / convince them to move there. I’d love recommendations for cute little pockets of shops, your favorite coffee shops, dive bars, best lunch or dinner spots, parks, etc.
If all goes well, we’ll want to visit the area before committing and would love to map out an itinerary based on locals’ recommendations versus what I find on google.
Huge coffee lover and moving to the area. What’re your fav coffee shops? Also any that are kid friendly ones?
