Hello. I am getting divorced. I am a bit confused about the process. I have a disability and don’t want to do this wrong. Can someone please tell me a step by step on how to do it? I don’t know which waver I should use or what form. The divorce will be amicable.
Thank you so much I would appreciate it.
I’ve seen lots of posts here and elsewhere about PA residents sending in their ballots. I’ve checked the status online and it says my application was received but it hasn’t been mailed. Getting antsy, I just want this election season to be over and do my part!
A lot of Amish farmers that I buy produce from have asked me to take them to go vote. Please reach out and get everyone to the polls!
Me and my girlfriend want to get legally married but we don’t want to have the ceremony yet because we are saving for a big one. We just want to be a joined party cause it would just be nice to be like that. We are both citizens and 24. She is from Kenya and just got her citizenship this year. Thank you
There were three HS football games played last night (Thursday) in my local news coverage (Berks County).
When and why did the High Schools start playing on Thursdays?
I know it was a rainy spring but now I feel like it's a drought... Is it? My fruit trees need more water lol .. also I'm going to assume mine and a lot of neighbors spruce trees died from being dried out?
I feel like no one really talked about it for the last six-seven years?
But my circle is probably not a representative sample even though we live in rural PA.
Wells are in but even if they are active, it’s hard to tell.
This picture is from a small Central PA restaurant where I had it. I assumed it was a common Pennsylvania thing but I’ve searched everywhere online and the only “cheesesteak wedges” I found anywhere else are either wedge salads or just regular cheesesteaks. Is this not a common PA thing?? Is there anywhere else I can find them?
I feel it's all coming down to integrity. I'm more of a Mitt Romney type of Republican guy, but the ones that I've read about seem to stand firmly with Trump on 2 issues that I can't stand:
1. Support for Ukraine - I know that there still are 50% of the republicans in congress and the senate that are courageous enough to stand up against Trump on this issue, but it is mind boggling to me that Trump wants to "End the war in a day" by negotiating with Putin who kidnaps Ukrainian kids, bombs childrens hospitals, apartments etc. Russia has also been known to negotiate a cease fire so they can come back in 3 years and continue on with their expansion. I see no why you can negotiate with them without them giving back the land (and the people living there).
2. They all have the same story regarding the election interference that "No fraud was found in their jurisdiction, but they can't speak for the rest of the country". - With all the lawsuits lost by Trump, it is very hard for me to believe there was widespread fraud and I think continuing to support Trump on this is a bad idea.
I'll post a picture of the people running in my area, but from what I've read it seems that all the Republicans are standing firmly with Trump on these issues. Please correct me if I'm wrong or if there's any reason I should reconsider a straight democratic ticket vote this time.
What groups or local organizations help out locally during a disaster in PA besides Fema and Red Cross?
A year or 2 ago when I was renewing my driver's license, on the screen it asked me for a political party and I picked a different one because I wanted to change parties. I heard that to change parties you have to reregister and I don't know if what I did counts as reregistering. When I check my voter registration status online it's says I'm active with the new party I picked. wanted to know if I'm all good to vote or not.
My family and I are going to be in town from the 13th-19th and are looking for recommendations from locals on great spots to hang out and eat and sites to see. Jim Thropp is already on the list but I would love to know other things yall think are amazing. We have a car and can drive (2 hours max ). The one specific thing we are looking for is waterside/front eating options
Hey guys, we are looking to move to PA and my kiddo who is turning 4 in a couple of months just started at a special education preschool on 9/4/24. She received early intervention services at home until she aged out at 3. She gets Speech, OT, PT and Special Education for 2.5 hours daily. She is thriving here (non verbal with developmental evaluation coming up this month) and I am just so nervous about the move but it's inevitable. We looked into Harrisburg originally but the I saw some very concerning comments on other posts about that area and are now looking at Mechanicsburg but I spoke to someone there today and was told that Mechanicsburg is split into 4 districts? We are looking at the one with zipcode 17055. I am really confused and any advice would be helpful because it looks like we would have to enroll in early intervention services for her again and I'm worried about how long that wait will be and what I need to do to be proactive
Edit: the Valley Forge, Peter Camiel and North Midway ones are not like this. I believe the other 14 are. If you don't drive a lot of the turnpike and haven't noticed this, disregard.
These seem to be designed for maximum awkwardness and collision. They are sharp, blind, narrow corners. Does anyone have any facts or intelligent speculation on why they are this way?
I've never seen another doorless public restroom, where you have to zig zag so it's not wide open to the outside, that has this problem. The corridors usually feel wider.
I mailed back my completed ballot on Monday, September 30th, and it’s still showing as pending and not received when I track it. Is that normal? I know it hasn’t been very long, but with all the craziness going on right now, I can’t help but feel a little concerned.
I'm moving in with my sister in Pittsburgh soon, and I want to find something that pays well in the state. The work doesn't have to tie into my degrees or experience, but I need the pay to be something I can live alone off. It doesn't have to start out well right away, but I want make enough to live alone and save a bit ($40,000+), since I'm working on my doctorate (remotely) and have four years left on it. I don't mind moving to another city or state if I find a job there, but I'd prefer staying close to my sister.
I have an MA in International Relations and a BS in Business Management. I have years of experience in a bunch of fields from content/copy/creative writing, copy / article editing, video editing, research, marketing, translator with portfolios and bylines. I can code and make games (Godot) on the side as a hobby, but haven't put a portfolio together for web dev since I heard the market is tough. Before marketing, I used to be an accountant, but the positions I've applied for in marketing and accounting rarely if ever reply. I hear white collar work isn't doing well in Pittbusrgh. I'm open to blue collar work, but I need something to pay well right from the start since I'm finishing my doctorate in 4-5 years. Aprenticeship in the trades doesn't seem feasible.
Any ideas on which companies to target or what field is doing well at the moment in Pennsylvania that I would be suited for.
Which officials should we be calling to advocate for funding for SEPTA.
Title, I was just curious if all of Pennsylvania got those godforsaken hills all of the state.
Edit: thanks guys 👌
Hey everyone, I’m newly engaged and starting to think about our 2026 wedding. Always dreamed of a winter wedding and logistically January/February (or even march) of 2026 would work for us. Right now leaning towards late February. I’m located in central PA like an hour north of Harrisburg, 2 hours east of State College. Is it crazy to want a winter wedding?? I know we barely get snow lately but I’m just terrified of a random snow storm. We would only have 2 people needing to fly in, everyone else is either local within 30 min or in Philly 2 hours away. Whole ceremony and reception would be indoors. Any thoughts?? Anyone whose had a PA or surrounding states winter wedding?
