Plant/garden shop recommendations?

Not looking for anything in particular. Just wondering about some good options aside from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Thanks!

Garman / Garman builders

...the lengths people will go to to push back after they fucked you over is stunning...so I have this Garman POS now calling the State police sending me a citation for contacting him...after he contacted me...he wants to sit down and talk about it like it was a 'misunderstanding'....I plan to ruin his life...which is what he deserves...So im pretty sure this slime bag after what he's done is going to try to have ME arrested....by the way...does anyone know if he is still front row center up at that mega church every Sunday....send me a picture if you see him....I want a reference picture of the biggest hypocritical piece of royal shit on the planet...how that man can live with himself is beyond me....to recap...he does what he does to my family...then when I push back...he sends the biggest law firm in the area to 'cease and desist me'....then, print a retraction so they can send a letter to vendors saying...it's all bs...he didn't do it...one little problem....he did do it....willfully for over a year....now the little shit is trying to step it off...time to send a complaint to CYS that he was busted just lately for supplying alcohol to his underage daughter...after she was DUI....note to the public...don't be Jason Garman....note to Garman builders...ditch this piece of shit while you still have a small possibility of making it out of this mess...the fact that people are still investing into that organization is mind numbing...they're employing a full blown menace to females...and apparently he doesn't discriminate on age or friendship either ...just take what you want and bring in lawyers and cops to cover it up...Ill happily go to prison over this....and remember folks....he fucking started this...not me

(Sober rant actually)

Don't go to tellus

I'm a latina, born and raised. I'm married to a white American man. Despite this, tellus took ONE look at me, and decided that I was "too drunk." We tried explaining that I have straismus, but they kept yelling at us. So convenient to preach inclusiveness only yo have a WHITE PERSON reject you. Fuck you all.

Anyone have a clue as to what the emergency situation was in or near East Petersburg?

I stopped at the 7-Eleven on 722 State Rd and I think 3 different waves of emergency vehicles came screaming by, some from the new Hospital. It was dark and I couldn't quite tell what kind of vehicles they were, but I saw atleast a few firemen in personal vehicles with blue lights.

Just curious, thanks!

Rehoming a Kitten

Hey everyone, sadly I need to rehome my kitten due to her and my dog not getting along and constantly having to keep them separated. It’s just unfair to keep them both.

She is 9-10 weeks old, litter trained and is very sweet, energetic and playful! She is all black if that matters.

She is completely free btw with a brand new cat carrier and litter box

Local Veterans Day deals

I took Monday off to take advantage of the veterans day offerings. I have a list of national chains offering discounts and freebies, so I'm good with those.

Good Life is giving away a free scoop to veterans on Saturday and Sunday

Are there any other local businesses with veterans day offerings?

Where to adopt hand/home raised hamsters?

Any recommendations on where to buy hand raised hamsters in the Lancaster area? I'm looking for hand/home raised because I understand that produces the friendliest hamsters. I don't know much about the hamsters at That Fish Place - any thoughts on adopting from there? (FYI, I am experienced with hamsters and have an ethical and enriching enclosure prepared 😊)

Thanks for your responses!

Lancaster County Coffee Co renovation

The Lancaster County Coffee roastery and cafe space on E Ross just put in a nice new beautiful window! I was told they are adding additional seating too. Nice to see a cafe in this part of the city where things are a little more residential! Now if they would only start selling pastries… 🥐 🤞

Lancaster Country Day School Walk-Out

According to the head of school, Matt Micciche, "As you may have heard, this morning at 11:15am, our Upper School students staged a walkout. US classes have been cancelled for the rest of the day; however, we are providing supervised spaces for students until dismissal at 3:00 p.m."

Does anyone have any information on this?

Red Rose Film Festival

If anyone else is looking for an escape as much as I am right now, the Red Rose Film Festival is happening this weekend at Zoetropolis and Penn Cinema. Great indie films (a lot of them were made in Lancaster) and guest speakers.

Speed for synchronized lights in Lime St?

Are the lights on Lime Street still timed so that if you go 27 mph you will hit one green after another? I was discussing traffic today and remembered this from years ago. Is it still true?

Remember how someone took the headlights and phone mount off my bike a couple days ago? Well they came back and broke part of my porch to take the bike now. If anyone sees a Zooz UU1100 probably with the chain still on, please let me knowphotos of the bike

Penn Manor kindergarten - Any before/after school programs?

We are new to the area and will be enrolling our child in kindergarten at a Penn Manor school. As I understand it, Penn Manor only offers kindergarten for half of the school day. What are parents that work doing to cover the remainder of the day? Are there any programs, clubs, activities, etc that cover this?

Better fishing areas in Lancaster county

Good morning. I'm just a dad trying to give his 8y/o son a good fishing experience since we left Jersey 4 years ago. Just wanted to get decent suggestions for viable fishing for bass/crappie and others. I know people tend to keep their favorite holes for themselves and that's ok, so I'm just hoping for good suggestions that disappoints kids a lot less than an empty bucket. Thank you.

Any Catholic churches in Lancaster, that are liberal?

Hello, I was raised Catholic but I don’t believe in some of there views. Im Pro choice, believe LGBTQ should be able to get married in church if they want, and I’m definitely not a Trump supporter, etc I would like to get my daughter baptized in Lancaster. Does Saint Neumann Catholic Church support Trumps views? Any Catholic Churches that are liberal? Is Saint James church more liberal? What churches do you recommend?

Sub for Lancaster Area Original Musicians

I've been struggling to connect with other musicians in Lancaster county who write, record, and perform original music. I'm not a fan of spending much time on social media and I was surprised that there wasn't a sub already, so I made one called r/lancpa_original_music

This is specifically for original musicians to connect and share, look for others to collaborate with, discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly about making and promoting original music, and generally just get to know other folks in the scene. If you're a musician, producer, promoter, or venue that supports local original music, please check it out. Thanks!!

Spring/Drinking water

With the recent closure of High Spring water in Lititz, I'm searching for a new source.

I'm trying to avoid the drinking water dispensers commonly found outside of grocery stores and such. Please no roadside springs (many are not considered safe)

Thanks!

Hotels so difficult to book

Is it just me or are there fewer hotels in Lancaster than there should be? Every time we try to book hotel by points there are many options in Harrisburg, Reading, Philadelphia, even Hershey. But never Lancaster.

Also, seats in the Sights and Sound theatre are impossible to book for weekend shows.
