Longest of long stories short, it's Giving Tuesday, and Pittsburgh has a particularly cool program called "Give Big Pittsburgh" to make finding and donating to your favorite non-profits easier.
Instead of individuals potentially running afoul Rule 6, I thought if y'all want to grab your NPO of choice and drop their Give Big link below, we can all take what opportunities we have to share some support.
That said: Times are tough right now. Don't give what you can't comfortably live without. But all gifts are appreciated, I'm sure.
I want to meet someone to buy some inventory from them for my business. Can I do it in the police parking lot? I just want to be safe. Thanks
Is there any holiday events or markets happening down town soon? Wanted to make the trip down to ice skate but want to do more than just that. Any suggestions? TIA
I’m tired of being lonely and want to make friends. The problem is, other than meetup I have no idea where to start looking. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi, folks. Each quarter, my work team has a team building day where we typically grab a bite to eat and do a fun activity after work. I’m looking for some ideas I could suggest to my team, something that would accommodate around 6 people! We have already done paint n sip as well as candle making. Preferably something low impact since we have team members with physical limitations. We work downtown, so anywhere there or in the surrounding areas would be a bonus! Thanks all!!
Does anyone have experience with diagnosis or treatment at this center? My husband has been treated for early onset Parkinson’s disease for almost 10 years. We tried UPMC movement disorders clinic, but the care is seriously sub-par. Still looking for a neurologist we can trust. We moved here from Texas last year and have seen two movement disorder specialists at UPMC. Both said they don’t believe he has PD and neither expressed any curiosity or concern for determining an alternate diagnosis. The clinic schedules appointments 6 to 8 months apart and has canceled two appointments already in less than a year. Hoping to find a better place for treatment.
I'm a senior on a limited income and I'd like to move to the area but have some questions.
Is it common for a landlord to charge for water and sewer on top of rent? What if it's a multi-unit apartment?
Are there job opportunities for seniors?
is there a suburb or city within 20 minutes of the city that would have less expensive housing?
Thank you.
Has anyone here worked with any photo restoration services in the area? I have a large box of photos belonging to my mother that I would like to have scanned and touched up. Many of them have water damage from a fire many years ago. I know it's probably going to be pricy, so I'm hoping someone here has worked with someone in the area on this type of project so I can get the best value. I'm open to go just about anywhere in the city/suburbs.
Does anyone know what's up with the Parkway West on the airport loop? I drive from the Robinson end of I-376W to the Clinton exit every couple days at work, and it shakes my tank truck all over the place. It just constantly feels like driving across strips of road that were laid together. Why is it so rough of a road? It does it in both directions too. Basically the entire stretch of highway where the speed limit is 65MPH.
Any well lit places in the area that I can go for a walk now that the sun sets super early? Live in south hills but okay with a 30-45 minute drive if needed. Preferably not around a track.
They hurt my eyes!
I am going to an private event at the Carnegie sci center and they will be serving drinks. I am wondering what specific beers they serve?
Can you do it? Toxic materials, unsafe temps, nasty ass rodent dropping everywhere, dead rodents everywhere, foods adulterated by rodents, inadequate handwashing facilities, improper use of pesticides, improper carbon monoxide exhaust, feces everywhere in basement. . . the violations endless playas'. Where do you get ur feedbag on? Who will be next?
Just saw a possible hit and run with a woman walking a golden retriever and a pickup truck at the fifth and Aiken intersection. There was yelling after the truck stopped but we couldn’t see if she was actually hit, though she was able to cross the street and made a phone call presumably to report the incident. If this was you, message me as I can pull any info I have from the dash cam. Should be able to get the license plate of the car. I can check once I can go through the footage.
