Voting from abroad - how long does it take for ballot to be marked as "received"?

Hi all, I'm voting from abroad this year and I mailed my ballot out 3 weeks ago. I've mailed letters home before and it typically arrives in 1-2 weeks time, never longer than 2 weeks. My ballot is still marked as "pending - not yet returned". I have already emailed montgomery county to ask about the status of my ballot and have not heard back, I've just sent another email today. I'm considering to send a back-up ballot (federal write-in absentee ballot).

Anyone voting from abroad, how long did it take for your ballot to be marked as "received"?

Window replacement

Hi all,

I've just moved to Lansdale. The house we moved into was built in the '60s, and it looks like the windows have never been replaced. They're in pretty bad shape. I got a quote from Renewal by Andersen for 20+ windows, but it's way out of my budget. Can anyone recommend good, affordable local window companies?

New Local Pickleball 20’s & 30’s Group!

I just started a Pickleball 20’s and 30’s Meetup group where we’ll be playing at courts in and around Lansdale! I feel like in areas like this it can be hard to find things to do with people in your age group, so this group intends to fix that for those in their 20’s and 30’s!

Join here if interested: Check out Pickleball 20’s & 30’s on Meetup https://meetu.ps/c/57VhD/GnDXX/a

(I didn’t see any rules about promotion so hopefully this is okay)

Mexican culture near Lansdale?

Hi all we just moved here from Phoenix AZ and I’m looking for anything of Mexican or Hispanic culture in the area. I have a 4 year old daughter who I’d love to get involved in dance classes (or really anything relating) so she can still be involved in her heritage and familial culture. Any recommendations of Hispanic markets, restaurants/fast food, events, etc. would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your input! I’m excited to check it all out.

Is Lansdale “the hood”?

A few people in my high school were saying downtown Lansdale was a bad neighborhood and that because they live in Lansdale they were “from the hood”? Is this true? Should I keep an eye out on the streets?

Adult pickup or league soccer?

Anyone here play or know of any groups that play adult pickup or league soccer in the Lansdale area? I started playing recently after like 12 years, and I realized how much I missed it after a few co-ed friendly games in a team setting at YSC sports in Wayne. looking to play more regularly, at least twice a week and would love to play closer to home.

No breed restriction apartments

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of any apartment complexes in the area who don't have any breed restrictions on dogs? The only ones I've been able to find are Village Square apartments in harleysville. Hoping there are a few more to compare to!

Harleysville to Lansdale

We recently got a new home in Harleysville. Before we used to live in lansdale which was really close to the tracks. I am a student attending temple university and I was wondering if there’s any transportation near Harleysville to go to lansdale. I don’t have car availability and also can’t afford Uber everyday. Does anyone know if there’s any busses near Harleysville that goes to either lansdale or Philadelphia. I looked it up but can find anything. Thanks.

Election Day is on 11/7, vote!

Just a last-minute reminder to make plans to vote on Tuesday, 11/7!

It might be an off year, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything going on! State Supreme Court, Superior Court, and Commonwealth Court seats will be on the ballot, as well as many local municipal and school board elections.

These local elections are small-scale, but they also have the biggest direct impact on your daily life! They're responsible for making sure your roads are maintained, that your kids have a functional school to go to, they provide social services, and, above all, make sure your community's day-to-day needs are met. So treat this election as a referendum on how your local officials are doing in their jobs!

Hours: 7AM - 8PM. If you are in line by 8PM, you are allowed to vote (Do not get out of line or you forfeit your chance!).

Polling Location: Put in your address here to find your polling location:

https://www.vote.org/polling-place-locator/

or alternatively on the Pennsylvania state website here: https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages/PollingPlaceInfo.aspx

Sample Ballot: Download a sample ballot by putting in your address here:

https://ballotpedia.org/Sample_Ballot_Lookup

Did you request a mail-in ballot and haven't mailed it yet? Civilian absentee and mail in ballots must be received by the county elections office by 8 pm. Postmarks do not count. If you have not yet mailed your mail-in or absentee ballot, you may be able to drop it off in a ballot drop box; each county is slightly different in whether they allow drop boxes, the full list throughout the state can be found here!

Did you request a mail-in ballot but changed your mind and want to vote in person? You still can! Just make sure to bring your mail ballot with you to the polls so that you can surrender it!

Are you uncertain if you're allowed/able to vote at your polling place? If you have concerns on whether or not you are eligible to vote but still want to, you can still go to the polls in person and request a provisional ballot! These ballots are held off to the side while election officials determine whether your vote is valid. The link has a list of reasons why you might be uncertain, such as your name note being in the polling book, you are unable to show ID, your mail ballot was rejected but you believe you are eligible to vote, etc.

If you witness or suspect intimidation, suppression, or fraud at your polling place, contact the authorities.

If you run into issues with voting, contact your county election office (full list found here)!

In addition to your county election office, here is another number to call if you are having any issues with voting:

https://protectthevote.net/what-to-share-with-your-community/

  • 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) – English language hotline
  • 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682) – Spanish language hotline

Spotlight PA also put together a thorough nonpartisan FAQ here.

...And just like that, you've done one of the most important things you can do in a democracy: participate.

I will be posting this reminder in various PA subreddits that don't already have one posted, so I apologize in advance for the spam.
