Hey everyone,
I just heard about a mandatory housing essay that's apparently required to keep housing, but I’ve never received any email or notification about it. I’m freaking out because I had no idea this was a thing until now.
From what I’ve gathered, a lot of people seem to be in the dark about it too. Some say it’s just “a thing you have to know,” and advisors have mentioned it in meetings, but it hasn’t been officially communicated.
For something this important, why wouldn’t Drexel let people know properly? If anyone has more details about the essay, like where to find it, the deadline, or how critical it is to complete, please share!
Also, if you didn’t know about this either, you’re not alone. Seems like it’s another classic case of “you just gotta figure it out somehow.”
Let’s help each other out here. Any info is appreciated!
Hi everyone,
I was recently accepted into the CS PhD program here at Drexel. While I am starting in the Winter semester, my professor is fine with me working remote until Spring.
Because of the fast turn around, I am currently scrambling to find housing and my search has kind of gone crazy. My budget is $1300/month, and I am fine with either a place to myself or get roommates, but I do not have any roommates at the moment. My parents' #1 priority is safety, but I'd prefer to have safety and a dishwasher.
My question is where do Drexel grad students usually stay? My search has gone from near Drexel Main Campus, to Rittenhouse, to Spruce Hill, to the Evo for a 4b/4b. Are my preferences unreasonable? Should I just apply for a bedroom at the Evo?
Thanks in advanced!
Hi! So I was invited to the Student Ambassador Interview and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of questions they ask or what format the interview is in general. Thanks!
Hi. Do CS majors have a higher chance of getting a software co-op than CE students? Can CE students with some experience in software get their first co-op easily?
Can anyone shed light on what happened with the CM program manager and director? Looks like they both quit.
Hello all!
I will be applying to Drexel as a Fall 2025 transfer student. I'll have my Associate of Arts degree in Digital Mass Media - Journalism from an out-of-state community college by next May.
I haven't been able to figure out how selective Drexel is with transfer students, as the transfer acceptance rates vary from each website I visit; I've seen as low as 40%.
I'll likely have a 3.4-3.5 GPA (trending upwards) upon applying this spring. I previously had a 3.2 carry over from my freshman year at a large in-state school. I did well in all of my classes (mostly A's, some B's) except for a D in a mathematics course the fall of my freshman year which was the result of extraneous circumstances. Ultimately transferred from there to a local CC due to accumulating personal reasons.
I'm extremely involved at my current community college; I play for a NJCAA-sanctioned sports team, I am a staff writer and editor for our school's paper, and I also help fundraise and set up events for some smaller clubs as well. I was also a sport representative for my former in-state school's NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
I was just looking for any insight from former transfer students, or anything else that may be useful for me to know.
Any tips or recommendations for applying would be largely appreciated. Thank you all so much!
Hi, I'm writing a research essay for my english final, and I need people to fill out this survey! It would be very helpful if you could fill it out, it shouldn’t take too long.
Thank you in advance!
I need to find a coop next year, please give me some advice about how to get a better coop or what to do to enhance myself to get it?Thanks.
not sure if this is the right thread but I was recently accepted into DCOM and would really appreciate anyone's housing recs that are close to the medical school (aka walking distance or reasonable commute w/ public transit bc I do not own a car)
also i'm a woman so safety is def a priority
thanks in advance & happy turkey day:)
It’d be nice to hangout or do something.
I will be on my last co-op next year and wanted to get a head start on gaining relevant skills and experience outside of my co-op. Some companies I really want to work for are companies like comcast and sig.
Something I wanted to do was learn AI and ML during the next four months, as well as have a project or two integrating these skills on my resume as I didn’t get much programming experience with my last co-op. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to secure an interview with these kinds of companies?
Hello everyone,
I’m currently taking MATH 201 with Yixin and I am stressed out because of the final which is 50 percent of our grade. Her notes haven’t been as helpful as I’d hoped and I really just don't know what to do.
For those of you who’ve taken this course with her before:
I'm applying for the MSc in HCI & User Exp (Fall 2025). GPA: 3.27, IELTS: 8 Band, I did a UI/UX design internship earlier this year and have a decent portfolio to show for it. Bachelor's in Comp Sci.
Hey everyone, wanted to share an addition to my project that allows you to view past student co-op salaries, companies, position and experience. Feel free to take a look for yourself and share with your friends as I think it could be a good resource to gain insight. Its all anonymous, so feel free to also add your own salary if you want. The more data the better.
Here is the project -> https://query-time.web.app/ the salaries are in the "Co-op Salaries" tab.
Data from these two previous post were grabbed cleaned and preloaded to the database so thank you to them.

Trying to figure out my plan of study until graduation. I took CS 260 my second year and had to drop cause I was dumb and taking 20 credits when I didn’t need to. I literally only need to pass the class don’t need it as a pre rec for anything. Any advice on how to prepare for the class? Especially if Yusuf is teaching it?
I heard there’s an app to control the music so how do you get on aux because I really can’t put up with one more play of Thick of It.
Thanks in advance.

I parked in front of frat row yesterday and found my car misding earlier. It was likely relocated since that portion is on the marathon route. Has anyone else had this and have you found your car? If so, where?
Edit: i found it on 32nd at the end of arch. Literally next to DUPD. Thank yall for your insight and advise!
They're always outside asking "do you have time to save trans kids" or something like that. I want to look into if they actually help ppl or if they're frauds like asfd
Hi, I was looking over my winter bill and wanted to know why I have an extra charge in my account: the previous statement balance and the refund. The previous statement was from this year's PA State Grant fall quarter, which I had some trouble with. It was in my fall bill but soon after, I got an email telling me to pay it back. I got it solved and they told me I did not need to pay since I was approved of the grant. I also added the unsubsidized loan during the fall which I believe was added to my fall bill which is why I got the refund. But now I have to pay those back? I just wanna hear what you guys have to say about this before I head to the office.
I am a Winter-Entry student and can't choose between CS and Comp. Engineering. I want to learn a bit more about the colleges they are a part of. Which college would you say has better research and job oppurtunities right now?
Please exclude loans, external scholarships or work-study. I'm interested in how much aid (an actual number) Drexel gives you either yearly or for the whole four years to help with the cost of attendance. Hoping the responses to this post help me get a range so I know whether or not I can afford this school. Thanks in advance!
Hi, recent Drexel alum here. I am looking to get a photographer for my engagement. We are both Dragons, and were wondering if there was anyone that the Drexel community recommends, or if there are any students looking to make some extra cash. PM if interested.
