I hear they're getting removed and I would like to try and use one before it's gone.
Absolutely ZERO desire to drive out tomorrow, but at the same time, I don't want to waste the day. I want to get done normal errands and maybe normal purchases, but without Karen complaining about a price tag not matching an ad or the long wait lines.
Not expecting any response honestly. Just lamenting. With so much online purchasing, I feel like the craze to buy cheap on 1 day seems exhausting. I'll admit, I've taken advantage of a few good deals for essentials like shoes. And if my grocery store ever offers 50%+ off, I'm there! But I'm not going to fight the crowd for most of this stuff. Nor do I want to be a salmon swimming upstream to get something not even on sale in the first place, just on my list of things to get
I just found out that I need to be in town for Thanksgiving day to visit an elderly relative. Anyone know of anywhere that might be open Thanksgiving day where I can take them for lunch?
This dinner is a thanksgiving meal its at overflow church. look it up if u need to
Turning 65 early next year and already applied for Medicare Parts A&B. Looking at the $0 premium UPMC for Life Medicare Advantage plan but, at the same time, I'm hearing and reading some horror stories about "Advantage" plans in general.
Any other Altoonan's already on UPMC for Life or Original Medicare (supplemental/Medigap) have any advice for me before I decide which way to go?
I dont know if anyone cares but overflow church has free dinners from 5-6pm on wensdays.
ignore my other post
Was thinking of signing up for door dash how's Altoona market? If anyone has experience hmu.
Helloo, I'm moving back to the area and would love to maybe make some friends in the area! 20F, DM me if you'd like :)
Meeting friends in Altoona around Thanksgiving. What are the more fancier places for food? We did Marzonis last year but it was pretty rough on the inside. I know I'm used to DC restaurant scene, but surely they are a few hidden gems in the area?
UPDATE: Thanks for all the suggestions . We did Altus and that was exactly the vibe I was looking for.
Coming into town for the Cojo concert and looking for a good place to eat
What's going on today that the Boscov plaza is packed?? I know SciFi con and jaffa craft show, but that wouldn't affect here. I've never seen this place so busy
Anything going this weekend? Its a little chilly for my normal cosplay, so I think I'm going in street clothes. Is this the first year or does June AND November?
Gotta split my time between there and the Jaffa Craft Show lol
Anyone been to Sam’s in Altoona recently and know is the big jug of Sarris chocolate covered pretzels are on the shelf yet?
I’m 23 and just moved here a couple months ago but am having trouble meeting friends. My neighbor says it’s cause it’s a small town but I know that shit still has to be easier than just walking around town randomly hoping to bump into someone
Anyone in Altoona in desperate need of a girl friend? I have a car so I’ll come pick you up and we can do literally whatever
My wife and I are new to the area and are looking to get into a gym routine. Both of us have been in gyms before, but aren’t exactly the powerlifting scene. Any advice on where to look/where to avoid?
First thing that came up when I searched said permanently closed. I still called the phone number and couldn’t get a hold of anyone though it seems like they’re still in business
Edit; anyone have a recommendation for a place that does buy and pick up cars?
Looking for someone to chat w, maybe kick it with. Not ready to call it a night and don’t wanna rot at home. 29 M, musician, love conversation and adventure/ spontaneity. Down for whatever
Hi all, my partner and I are newer the area and were looking for good wing recommendations.
Thanks in advance!
I am doing a photo shoot for my son and his family. While I am a native and have used locations such as canoe creek, valley view, legion park, so the more known locations. I was curious if anyone is aware of hidden gems within twenty miles from Altoona that are perfect backdrops for the beautiful colors? Thanks in advance.
In town for two nights. I am looking for a non-chain/local restaurant with a nice atmosphere for a casual meal. Any suggestions?
Genre of food is irrelevant really- just want somewhere that’s going to be good without being a hassle and is something I haven’t had before.
Hi, I grew up in the Altoona area and lived there until a few years back. I’m looking for someone that can confirm my memory of a show called Shock Theater that came on either Friday or Saturday nights at either 11:30 or midnight (I think it was Saturday) in the 1980s (preferably 1985-1987 time frame). Yes I am aware of the shock theater that was on in the 1960s. This is not the same thing. This was to be in the Johnstown Altoona broadcasting area, and I’m pretty sure it was on CBS (WTAJ Channel 10). It may have only ran in the summer. My memory is kind of hazy on that. I have a couple old Johnstown/Altoona edition TV guides that I tracked down on eBay from 1985 and 1986, but they do not show it in there.
bought a used 17.5' bass boat last spring that I keep in my yard right now...would like to store it for the winter in a garage or storage warehouse close by if the cost is reasonable. Anyone know of any places to recommend?
