Hi Everyone,
My fiancé and I have lived in DE the last few years but have still been unable to find a vet we like/feel comfortable with. We are happy to drive anywhere in New Castle County or Kent County.
We have a 1.5yo working line GSD, who is fantastic, but tends to be cautious/anxious at the vet. The few vets we have tried in the state seem as though they are more accustomed to small dogs or non-working dogs. We are trying to find a place that is comfortable and used to working with his type of dog, so that we can turn it into as positive experience as we can long term. Any insight is beyond appreciated!
My daughter has a birthday coming up and she wants to invite some friends and family to an ice skating party, despite the fact that she has only ever been ice skating once. Does anyone have any experience in hosting a party at the UD skating rink? There appears to be an option to rent a party room for $150 for three hours or a table for free. We would probably opt for the room so we can do food, cake and gifts in between skating fun. There would probably be about six adults not skating and six kids skating (I'm one of the kids even tho I haven't been on skates in 25 years). Any advice or tips are appreciated. I plan on calling this week to get details from them but just wondering if anyone has any input.
Are there any bakeries that are open at 7:00 AM? Between Newark and Wilmington. TIA
He said that we all paid into solar and wind energy for years, now the stuff is built, and i can sign up with them to save a bunch of money on my power bill. But i have to sign up with Ampion and pay them most of my bill and then a bit to Delmarva still.
A quick google search shows its a real company recognized by the BBB with alright reviews, but i dunno overall it seems shady, why would i need to sign up with a 3rd party to use green energy the state paid for, that part doesn't make sense to me. I didn't sign up, but i'm just wondering if i should?
About 10 years ago my business was the victim of a burglary. The prosecuted the person and he owed the business about $900.
I had forgotten about it, but about 6 months ago I received a check from the State of Delaware Vendor Payment Account. I have the check number of that check.
I had some questions about the case, so I called the Delaware Victims Fund department to get more info. To look me up they either need the invoice number (which was in the “stub” for the check that I don’t have anymore), or the perpetrator’s name (which I can’t recall).
Surely I should be able to call whoever cut the check, tell them the check number, and get the invoice number, right? I don’t know who to call though. I’ve tried a few departments and have had no luck.
Anyone else get their tentative property assessment and have it seem WAY TOO HIGH!? Like ours is double what we paid 5 years ago and current comparable listings in the neighborhood are like 150k lower than this assessment. We're definitely going to challenge it.
Don't get me wrong, I am all for using taxes to meet community needs but this is ridiculous.

My son’s favorite is the Schellville Village in Rehoboth. Somethings in Philly are good too.
Any recommendations?
Just went back, hadn't been there in about 20 years. I love how for the most part, it hasn't changed. I hadn't skated in so long that I was wondering if I could still do it. All the memories of learning how to skate came back to me in fast forward. Holding on to the edge, gradually getting less wobbly, falling less, then being able to lift one foot, then two, picking up a little speed, never super fast or skating backwards but getting to where I was moving with the music...it was a fun journey. We always laughed about how people say there's nothing to do in Delaware but after we stumbled on this place when I was about 12, we definitely had something else great to do.
Going back was great. And to top off the night, I did my first request ever, for one of the rink's classics - Jam On It by Newcleus. Took me right back to my childhood!
I'm thinking about getting into the construction business, mostly focused on cabinets and trim carpentry. Anyone have any experience with these industries in DE and what kind of money you're making? Thanks!
Hello fellow residents, I am looking for pest control service provider to get rid of mice infestation in my garage. Any on companies you’ve had good experiences with, or products that have worked well for you?
Hi I’m doing this for a friend. The Sierra club Delaware chapter is hosting an end of year silent auction with some cool items. Just wanted to put this out there for them.

This might be banned as a question but seriously. As someone who used to live in the nearby DMV, my friends and I would always joke about the fact that Delaware was a made-up place simply because we never knew anyone who actually lived there (see the "Bielefeld conspiracy" for more information on this joke). But honestly, do you guys like living in Delaware? What would be the pros and cons of living in this state? And for the city-slickers out there, would you recommend Dover or Wilmington as good/decent places to live?

There is a max per year, I order every year. Several smart thermostats are free. As in, free to buy with free shipping.
Looking for any streets that go really hard with the Christmas lights and decorations. Girlfriend isn't from Delaware and she is really hoping to see some cool lights. Growing up in the area I remember lots of cool places around this time but trying to plan out a nice drive around.
Just wondering what restaurants have the yummiest scallops on the shore.
Took my four-year-old in tonight because he has been wanting to learn how to play Pokemon. The guys at Starlight Games were super helpful, hooked him up with some awesome Pokemon cards and we're going to go back in a couple of weeks for them to teach him how to play. So if anyone is looking for a cool place to go, check them out.
Sorry Eagles fans, I simply can’t.
I just moved here from Long Island NY and will always be a Jets fan above all (I know, I promise we enjoy the pain).
I was looking to have a second team to root for that is geographically closer to here. I’m in southern Delaware near the beaches and Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC are all the exact same distance from me. I’m trying to decide between the Ravens and Commanders but I’m just kinda curious which team is overall more popular here. I’ve seen equally as much Ravens fans as I’ve seen Commanders fans personally so I decided to bring it Reddit haha.
Thank you!
I have been applied to jobs such as Home Depot, Lowe, auto repair shop, etc you can name in Newark, DE. I went to a trade school and interested in carpentry program. I need some help since I’m still in school as well and want to earn money since I have no money at 18 years old with hearing loss.
Damn trees are expensive. Anybody know where cheaper options are. Lower slower area
Hey all. Does anybody know where I can buy just singles common Yu-Gi-Oh cards? Somewhere where I can look though a ton and pick and choose. I know I 2nd & Charles has some but it's really limited. I looked into Alternate universes and they don't have common cards. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Hi all. I’m in NCC, more specifically in North Wilmington.
My mom (who died last year and I was her live in caretaker for many years) used Petro for decades. I ran with them too and tbh, I’m thinking of changing companies.
I have baseboard heating that really needs bleeding (all the valves are in the basement) as well since my upstairs is significantly colder than downstairs.
Can anyone give reccs please?
Hey guys! I’ve ordered some toys from Amazon aaaand found out that I can’t receive them — because of USA sanctions (I live in Russia, sadly). Instead of return, I’d like to donate them (they are kept at some intermediate address in Delaware). Could you give me some advice, where to send them? To some children hospital, maybe? The packages are not opened.
Hey Fellow First Staters,
I'm looking for a soda shop similar to Rocket Fizz (was in NJ but now the last store is perma closed). A physical store I can go to in order to by random sodas and drinks that aren't your typical Coke or Pepsi products. Happy to drive a distance if necessary but my kids enjoy these as fun stocking stuffer gifts as the holidays approach. Thanks!
Hi, sallies band member here asking about the arrests at the football final
Where near the beaches can I buy homemade Kolachi rolls?
