Spotted this today and found ABC27 reported on it several hours ago. Really hoping it doesn't spread anymore...and hope we can get some rain. https://www.abc27.com/local-news/crews-respond-to-mountain-fire-in-dauphin-county/amp/
Hello does anyone know of any cheap ($5-900) apartments for rent in the area? I work in New Cumberland and commute with my ebike everyday. I don't have pets or smoke. Any leads are much appreciated.
Hi folks, I’m part of a small, independent documentary film project about political yard signs, and we’re in the process of documenting what happens to them after the election. We’re specifically looking for signs being actively thrown away/recycled/damaged/removed or whatever else might showcase a post-election landscape. This is a bipartisan piece, so we are not looking to paint either party in a specific light.
If anyone has any leads on signs as I described above, or any knowledge of an alternative option, please reach out!
If I goto city island when there are no events, do I have to pay for parking or what is the parking situation there?
Want to stop and take some pictures one morning for about an hour or so and have never been there.
I'm planning a Harrisburg trip for the weekend, and I'm wondering if the new 2nd & Charles is open yet? I know that the mall closed down, and that they were moving to a new location, but have they opened up in there yet?
Edit: thank y'all for your help!
Still new to the area. What are the best thrift stores/ consignment shops in and around Harrisburg
Does anyone have suggestions in the area for outdoor courts with lights or free indoor courts?
I live in midtown and I usually play at Adams Ricci but the park doesn’t turn on the basketball court lights after sunset. I’ve also played indoors at a church in Manheim a couple times which is a bit far.
I went to Creekview for the first time this week and I’m wondering if there are other options too
Originally from Harrisburg, and I haven’t been back in about a decade. Looking for restaurant and beverage recommendations (I’m staying in downtown Harrisburg, but have a car).
Recently move to the area from State College. For those who've never been to Penn State University Park the squirrels on campus are super friendly. You can feed them and Ive seen them climb up peoples legs! They are wild animals so they should be scared of people. That is all.
The closest temple I know of close to the West/East Shore area is Blue Lotus Meditation Center in Carlisle, which I currently frequent.
I know in PGH, there's a club called Brutalism PGH, which plays some of my favorite artists such as Buerak, Molchat Doma, Ploho, Joy Division, The Smiths, Grauzon, Boy Harsher, etc. I'm wondering if the fan base for these is also existent in HBG, and would like to explore the possibility of coordinating a regular night like this at a local venue, or just attending an already existing night like this. Based on a previous post, it seems like there's a good number of supporters of this idea in HBG.
How much is the application fee and holding deposit? Also, is it paid using a site called Tenant Webaccess?
I’m off this afternoon and it’s a beautiful day. Would love to enjoy the outdoors. Maybe bring my camera. Open invite to anyone who would like to join.
Just moved here, love photogaphing birds and wildlife. Any suggestions on best locations?
Hi everyone!
I just got a job in Harrisburg and am set to start in January. I am going to be graduating college in December and need to relocate to Harrisburg for when I start my job. Looking for suggestions for safe, but fun towns or even apartments for young professionals. Wouldn't want to be more than 20-30 minutes from downtown Harrisburg. Would be living in the city be worth it? Open to all suggestions, thanks!
Are there any good restaurants in Harrisburg open on Thanksgiving that serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal?

If you go to that link, it takes you to a message from the interim President of Harrisburg University that you may very much enjoy.
I have to go downtown to vote this afternoon. Not sure how long the process will take, but is street parking free today or do you get like 15 minute grace or something? Last time I stopped at pine street for a couple of minutes and got hit with a $30 ticket.
Thanks!
I’m 17 and currently moved up here from the south to get away from my abusive family. I don’t have any legal documents due to them locking the shit away from me.
I’ve been up here for about a month. I need a job badly and I don’t know how to start by getting my ID, birth certificate, and social security card.
I’m afraid to go to the office for my things because I’m reported “missing” and I’m not sure if that messes up anything.
What do I do?
Each election, about 2-3%* of people with plans to vote ultimately don’t. Whether due to last-minute conflicts, transportation issues, or the chaos/busyness of the day, a small but meaningful number of voters don’t follow through.
So think about any obstacles that might keep you from voting, and make a backup plan. If you need something – a ride, a reminder, support from friends – then ask for it.
Every vote matters – don't waste yours!
I found a pair of headphones while boarding a plane out of MDT, the previous flight was Allegiant 309 JAX to MDT, when I assume they were left. DM me the seat number and headphone model to arrange shipping them back.
anyone know any good schools to get my cdl at in Harrisburg? Class A
Giant and 7 Eleven on 32nd St (15/11) in camp hill are having a battle back and forth for lowest gas price. Passed both this morning and theyre at $3.03. Just wanted to give people the heads up bc everywhere else is like $3.49. I did see the sheetz by the airport in middletown down at $2.99 the other day as well.
I finally got my mail in ballot yesterday! Am I still able to put it in a drop off location or should I vote in person tomorrow? Ty
