Anyone planning on going to the Raleigh concert? I’d love to come along cause I can’t find a lotta tyler fans in my circle. Lmk!
i gotta take around 20 hours next semester i know there’s a special permission thing where we can take over 18 hours… will mypack let me enroll in over 18 or do i gotta email an advisor
Hi everyone!! My friend and I are currently looking for two other people to room with next year in wolf ridge. We're girls, both engineers, and we'll be rising seniors. Unfortunately, we do not currently reside in wolf ridge so it would be awesome if you do live there right now since it'll be easier to get in, but if not that's totally fine. We're both pretty chill and open to all kinds of people. Also feel free to send a pm!!
apartment/housing recommendations that are actually worth it. i’ve heard mixed reviews about almost everything within a 5 mile vicinity of ncsu. i am looking for somewhere that i am actually getting my money’s worth🙏🏼🙏🏼
It’s a very fun and thought provoking show about how humanity’s love of storytelling would persevere and evolve after the apocalypse.
hey everyone! i need a little bit of advice about my efy spring semester schedule. My intent was undecided and My Pack Portal’s Degree Audit reflects that. In the Degree Audit it says that I need to fulfill a “Major Course Requirement I” worth 3 credit hours, where the options were something like Organic Chemistry I, Principles of Organic Chemistry, CH 201, Some CompSci Classes, ECE 109, TE 105, and BAE 100. I would show a picture but for some reason the Pack Portal’s not loading for me lol.
I’m not interested in any of those classes at all, I’m not super into CompSci and I know also that I would never take a Chem class, as I have to take Physics (PY 205) next semester.
So when I looked it up online, under the college of engineering common first year page, it says “3 credit hours toward either the General Education Program or a major-specific requirement,” which is the part that confuses me. do i HAVE to take one of those BAE, TE, CompSci classes or can I just take a gened class instead? I don’t wanna have so much critical thinking next semester when I should probably be focusing on Calc II and Physics for CODA’ing. I would much rather take a lighter gened like a class about history to the DEI requirement or something in that nature. I have yet to talk with my advisor but our meeting is coming up soon, but I just had this burning question so I might as well ask it here.
My friend told me she’s applied to multiple NC schools including NCSU, and that all her portal were up to date in a max of 2 days. All except UNCG. Anyone applying or has applied recently to them and know of this is normal to be so slow? It’s been a week. She knows she did everything correctly. The transcript was via common app and the test scores were sent separately. She called and got an email confirmation a month ago that the scores made it and would be attached to her application when she applied. Still, all it shows is teacher recommendation (via CommonApp) and still “awaiting” transcript. Her admissions counselor last week told her to give it a few days, but as said it’s been a week since the portal was set up. That’s problematic when trying to meet deadlines and knowing if the system is errored. If the teacher recommendation made it, surely they extracted the transcript too since it was sent via common app.
Is UNCG usually this slow? NCSU, UNC Chapel Hill, and UNCW was on the ball with attaching information. Thanks.
Hey ppl, Im currently a hs senior and Nc State is one of the top 4 schools I applied to along side Uncc, Chapel Hill, and A&T. When I applied I wanted to focus my major on computer science with a focus in cybersecurity simply because cybersecurity is an intrest I have and I heard they make a lot of money but I have no experience with it. However after I submitted my applications I'm learning that I really really like UI/UX design and just anything that combines technology and design (not graphic design). I was wondering do they have somthing like that at Nc State? Should I switch my cs focus from cybersecurity to design? Or should I somehow double major or minor in both?
Does anyone know if on WolfTech Gradient you can access the grading distributions for WLCL and other World Languages classes, and if not, why? I have been trying to access the grading distribution for one class WLCL-320 but have not been able to as there is not a WLCL option to look at course numbers.
Hello everyone! NC State is on top of my lists of schools. I know, y'all are probably getting these posts a lot, and it is kinda annoying but I cant stop thinking about this. I am afraid if I will be straight up rejected because I only applied to 4 schools for early apps(ncsu, purdue, iowa state, suny buffalo).
Intended major: Applied Math (will double major w/ stats if admitted hopefully)
GPA: 90/100 UW (intl from EU, idk how to convert)
SAT: 1460(780 math)
APs: AP Calc BC 5, AP Physics Mech 3 :< (all self- study, school doesn't offer)
ECs and awards: above-average ish (math/cs related mostly)
Essays: kinda mid ngl
I'd also appreciate if any fellow applied math majors can also give insights about their major and opportunities at NC State. Thanks :D
I’m looking to take my GEP Humanities next semester, and want something online (or attendance not required) with minimal workload. Any suggestions?
Has anyone done an Internship for their communication major? I am in PR and would like to do an internship with branding, advertising, marketing, or content creation related. Have you guys had any experience? Where was it and did you enjoy it?
Just applied to nuclear engineering for first choice and chemistry for second! I’d love to hear how people think I’ll stack up.
GPA: 3.65 unweighted - 4.15 weighted (had a terrible sophomore year, was mentally checked out)
(For junior year I got a lot better and took 3 APS, worst I got all year was an 89 in my AP environmental science class…hoping they consider junior year over my crappy sophomore slump)
31 ACT (took it twice, 31 both times - super score would be 33)
Have some decent activities, I’ve been on the swim team since freshman year, got most improved swimmer award for junior year, work as a lifeguard for the YMCA, do art constantly and have won a school art competition, am in four active clubs, also babysit and catsit around the neighborhood, take care of siblings
4 in AP psych 5 in AP environmental science 5 in AP Lang 4 in AP stat
This year taking AP chem, BC calc, and AP lit!
Got teacher recommendations from current physics teacher and last year pre calculus teacher; for NCSU app will submit from physics teacher
Would also like to mention that my swim coach wrote me an absolutely astonishing recommendation letter that I suspect will help give an idea of my perseverance and growth not only as a swimmer, but as a person, too.
I want to do nuclear engineering because I truly believe it is the future of energy generation, and I care deeply about the environment and believe this is an excellent way to make an impact. I’m also a huge math and science nerd.
Wrote the NE supplemental about the NRO certification program class and the PULSTAR research reactor, also mentioned a NE student who I spoke with about her experiences with the class.
Not sure if this will affect acceptance but I am a girl 😟, and I know nuclear engineering is a dudes dominated environment. I also applied early action and am an NC resident.
Hope this wasn’t too much! Would appreciate if anyone could give me some insight on admissions chances for both nuclear and chem :) Thanks
Also if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
Which class is better?
i don’t use the busses that often but usually if i need to get on one i just wait at the bus stop, the bus stops! and then i get on. but twice now i’ve waited for 15 minutes at a stop, the bus comes, i stand up, and then it goes right past me! is there some sort of arm signal i have to do? or some app i need to download that alerts the bus driver to me being there?
hi i want to grubhub food to my residence hall but i’m not sure if it’s permitted. also, what location should i put?
Hi, I'm looking to transfer to NC State in the spring majoring in electrical eng. I spent a year at the US Coast Guard Academy and took 33 credits. I was honorably discharged due to a medical issue. I validated Physics 1 and Calculus 1, then took Calc 2 & 3, English Comp, Chem 1, along with a bunch of other classes. I thought my odds would be pretty decent of being admitted but for some reason I thought to double check the transfer requirements for engineers today. I noticed that the Minimum recommendations said that I need 4 credits of English courses. The problem is, the English 101 course I took at the academy was only 3 credits. That said, I have a 3.8 GPA, so I was wondering what the chances are they'd waive that requirement for 4 English credits and take my 3? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I haven't had the best luck lately in terms of college and health so NC State has become my only option. Thanks!
Also, I did email admissions, but I got an auto-reply that said it could take up to 3 days to get a response. Not sure I'd be able to sleep tonight if I couldn't find out more.
How do you all print papers?
Is it just me or did printing get even harder to do on campus? I was always using the web print and uploading files, then going to the printer to swipe card and release jobs. But now I cannot find the web portal anywhere, and I can't get mobility print to work either. I'm on NCSU wifi, no VPNs on, all cookies etc turned off
https://print.oit.ncsu.edu/ I swear this website used to work fine??
Don’t scam the QR code. These people say they’re from power to vote, and they have some QR code which looks scammy as hell. They’re also yelling at students to scan the code and being rude when students don’t scan the code immediately.
As the title says. I've already taken ISE 416 and am currently in PSY 340. I wanted to take ISE 435 to learn more python but that's a fall-only class. My main interests are automation and manufacturing.
Hi, I'm doing research for a marketing class and need at least 100 responses from college students. Any response will help, thank you!
hey y'all,
i'm currently taking acc 210 online with bruce branson and am finding it relatively easy (A quiz scores, A/B test scores without much studying). i was looking at classes for next semester and noticed that acc 220 can be taken online with natalie young. i've seen mixed reviews online about her. can anyone tell me their personal experience taking this class online vs in-person?
Hey everyone, looking for three other guys to room with next year on campus. I'm a junior in comp sci, and I am currently living at Wolf ridge. I like to play basketball, watch movies, listen to music, read books, play video games, and I watch a lot of football (college and NFL). I'm pretty quiet during the week, and only have people over occasionally to watch games or hang out, and my girlfriend sometimes spends the night on the weekends. If you'd be interested please let me know!
someone explain to me some cool and different aspect about a nutritional science major at state pls
