Looked down while walking and saw I was bleeding on my foot - tiny tiny cut (no bigger than a pinprick). I was walking along beach near Jeanette's pier. Didn't think anything of it and dipped my foot in the water to rinse it off, and now I'm kicking myself about potential vibrio bacterial exposure. Is vibrio a legit concern on the ocean side?

Hi, does anyone know of any hotels or rentals anywhere on the outer banks that have an indoor pool? We want to plan a fall get away to the outer banks but want a pool for my son to swim in. We normally visit Hatteras but anywhere along the outer banks will be ok. I haven't been able to find anything. Thank you for any insight!

Looking for a tailor to hem some shirts/pants a couple times a year in the Outer Banks. Who is your favorite? I had one bad experience here and now I’m seeing if anyone knows someone who is retired that does it on the side.

Headed down this weekend via motorcycle. Can anyone tell me what hwy 12 is looking like, between Nags Head and Hatteras? Is there a lot of sand still on the road? My group would like to ride to Hatteras on Saturday, but wanted the make sure hwy 12 is safe enough for motorcycles.

We saw a small Blue Sea Dragon about the size of a penny this morning in Corolla. I was on the lookout for them because I had seen posts they were just south of here. Has anyone else seen any in the Outer Banks this week?

Hi, visiting this weekend from NoVA with a bunch of friends.

1. Terrible to see the impact of Helene in Western NC. Wanted to ask if OBX is largely unaffected. Would be great to know if we should expect to be careful, or even delay our trip

2. What activities and food would the regular visitors or even the locals here would recommend?

Tried coming through today through 64, but there were signs saying the bridge before Manteo is closed and I had to go around the long way. I have no idea what’s going on, is this a temporary thing or longer term?

I didn't. And got stuck as holy hell on it. The stern got swamped, panic took over and nearly sank the boat in 1 foot of water. Talk about scary.

Husband and I went on a walk this morning and crossed the highway right at the Target. We tapped the button for the crosswalk and waited for the light to change, and the crosswalk light to permit us to walk. Two different people yelled at us from their car windows as they crossed behind us, both variations of "I have the green light, that's how assholes get killed."

We obeyed everything and followed the traffic/walk signals. We walked quickly and were moving with purpose. Is there something we did wrong?

We love it in OBX, have been coming for years, and this is the first time we've ever had a really negative encounter here while just going about our day.

We are plannng to do about a $450 grocery delivery order (feeding 10 people for a week) from Food Lion for the afternoon we arrive. Our house is about 20 minutes from the store if that's relevant. What is a fair tip amount for an order that size? Also does anyone have experience with them - are they pretty reliable at arriving within the delivery window?

My fiance and I will be doing a mini honeymoon in the Outer Banks October 21-26 and we’re looking for a few more things to do while we’re there. We will be staying in Kitty Hawk, but we’re more than happy to drive other places. We love pirates and history. I’d love to do some kind of dinner cruise one night. We also want to see the Corolla Horses, but not big on the idea of being in the back of a pickup truck for a tour. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Our group just had our 11th year annual OBX trip. Have always stayed in Corolla. My lady and I took the day trip down to Ocracoke and back yesterday. Never been down to the southern parts. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the recommendations from people in my other post.

We were visiting last week and saw this house and a couple more right beside it. How are they still standing and what’s their story? This is South Nags Head. Seagull Drive maybe? Can’t recall.

We have been staying by Rodanthe and exploring down to Hatteras. We have one more full day and are planning on heading up to Duck and possibly Corolla tomorrow. Any recommendations for the area that we should be sure to do? We were thinking of going to the event at Swellsa Dive Bar in the evening but otherwise completely open to being led.

Have bene here this past week..have come many years past but always stayed up north in Corolla. We check out tomorrow and I've never been to the south OBX. Worth to drive to Hatteras and back? Hi all! Husband and I have been coming to OBX for years, usually bringing our dog.

She's been on the beach and the Wright Brother's Memorial, but I'd love to include her in more outings this time around.

Any dog friendly places would be great, particularly around KDH/KH.
