A stray cat found its way into my backyard. Per my neighbor, it’s been in our area for a few days. Is anyone missing a cat near Pyramid Village?? He is young, not neutered, black, orange/yellowish eyes, has a small white patch on his chest and some white speckles on his back paw. Very friendly and when we look outside to check on him he tries to run into the house.
He seems really sweet and has definitely been around humans before. Feeding him wet food and water for now. Please let me know if he is yours asap! I have cats of my own so I can’t bring him inside.
Oh, I can't see anything wrong with that. Nothing at all, I say.
Sorry, just couldn’t resist
Free entry, starts at 10. Playing post punk, goth, dark pop, horror samples, plus the usual classics.
I am interested in adopting a friend for my cat. Can someone please explain the cat adoption process like I’m five years old and make any recommendations for area shelters vs cafes vs adoption sites at a store. My hope is to go somewhere ethical that has their best interests in pets.
I’ve made a bunch of posts looking for help with housing in other subs but wanted to try in the area I’m located.
If anyone has any advice on the transitional housing in the area that’d be great, or offering a room share. I’ve called every place Google shows, and I’m on a waitlist but I don’t really have that much time.
I am a younger female college student, and I am trying my hardest to make this work!
6 years ago, we were one of the first North State fiber optic customers in our neighborhood. They were a great company, fair prices and excellent services. Now sold to Lumos, our bill has gone up twice this year: from $45 to $65. The explanation for the latest increase is that they "discontinued" the 100MB plan and bumped us up to 500MB. They did this without notice and 500MB is overkill for our small household.
What alternatives are there? I left Spectrum because of their pricing games, but maybe I should give them another try. Anybody using T-mobile home internet? Are there any other providers I'm missing?
Before we get all the posts about “why are the roads closed,” it’s because Trump is speaking at the Coliseum. He’s supposed to speak at 7:30, so there will be major roads closed before then and probably again around 9-10pm. Have a great Saturday.
GL!
Good morning everyone and happy Saturday! I am up in Northern Rockingham county and I am looking for any recommendations from my peeps here on this amazing platform for firewood delivery. We have utilized Lawsons in the past, but didn’t have that great of an experience with the product.
They had me at Cake.. the owner said they will have 3 of them!!
Hey y'all! Flock of Dimes - Jenn from Wye Oak, Bon Iver, etc - is playing a show in Greensboro next Sunday, 10 November! I'm driving up from Raleigh for it and I can't wait. These "living room" shows she does through Undertow are gorgeous, really personal live-music experiences. Get tickets now before they sell out! Tell your pals!
So the hurricane Helene aftermath isn't getting as much media attention anymore, but so many friends out West are still suffering.
The artists who were the soul of Asheville's River Arts District have lost their galleries, entire life's work collections, studios, equipment, and materials that they depend on for their livelihoods.
There's a fundraiser underway to help support those artists directly. They're creating a deck of cards ($20) and a coffee table book ($50) featuring art that was lost in the flooding. They've already more than met their goal, but could use all the help they can get.
I'll put the link in the comments, since I think these get filtered out sometimes, but you can also search on Kick Starter for the Asheville Artists Flood Collection.
It ends Sunday morning!
Can anyone tell me what is to be expected when coming here? I've been to The Pegasus in Raleigh, wanna figure out if there's another place like that here
is there anyone who’d be interested in finding a spot to watch the Lions kick ass on Sunday?
I swear I saw a flyer for this earlier but forgot to take a photo. Turns out there's zero information online about this, so I'm wondering if anyone knows when/where this event is being held?
Does anyone know when the spirit haloweens will be closing? The website says “planning to close 11/3”, not sure if any employees here knew if that were true.
Things have been pretty difficult and some days I really struggle to keep my faith and a hopeful attitude.
I am struggling with health issues and have need for food and the requirements for that basic things people have to have to survive.
I don't know what causes people to go blind to suffering that is inflicted on the poor and unhoused people and I don't wish to imagine what is happening in the heart of people that witness suffering and choose to steal from those that are already vulnerable.
People have been breaking into my tent and stealing the items I use to sell for money to buy food.
I hope the people doing this will repent and stop violating me and perhaps, other vulnerable people.
I know it's not other homeless doing this. God bless you. I do hope you stop your wickedness before you experience the suffering you have caused others.
I’m helping take care of my niece and nephew (4 and 7) this weekend and looking for activities to do with them in Greensboro. We had plans for tomorrow but they fell through. Any recommendations would be super helpful as I’m new to the area.
Anyone in the local Greensboro area who knows anything about mushroom foraging and can point me in a direction where to start? 😬 No, I don’t want to eat them. My tastebuds aren’t that mature yet 😂 I just want to look at them. Also always looking to make mushroom friends lol.
Anyone willing to DM me some local spots?
We bought more candy than usual and for some reason had fewer TorT'ers. Anyone know of schools accepting donations for troops or similar programs? Preferably in northern part of GSO.
Hi, I'm fresh out of school and looking for work in IT, does anyone know any companies that are okay hiring someone without much experience?
Has anybody here worked for Vanderbilt finance either in TN or in GSO, NC? I wanna apply but I've only seen comments on Reddit from 5+years ago and was wondering what it was like today. Feel free to DM if you would like, but I wanted to get some feedback on the good, the bad, and the ugly of working for them.
Thank you all!
