What's a course's soundtrack in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that has been living in your head rent-free?

For me, it's been Tour Madrid Drive. Specifically the main variation. I don't know why it's looping in my head! It's not even my favorite song. It's Tour Berlin Byways!

Question about the Tilt Controls steering wheel icon in online play (or rather, how to unlock it?)

I wanted to try and get the golden steering wheel next to my name in online play, so about 3 weeks ago I started playing with tilt controls. I haven't stopped using them once ever since because I actually really like them, which is great! But my question is... why haven't I got any steering wheel badges next to my name yet?

I play for quite a few hours a day with my friends, and as 3 weeks have passed since I turned on tilt controls, I can definitely confirm I've played more than 50-100 matches with them enabled. Regardless, no steering wheel icon has appeared next to my name yet!

For additional information, if this helps, I never play with smart steering or auto-accelerate, I have 100%'d all Grand Prix's, gold trophies and 3 stars from 50cc to 200cc back to back, however I have yet to beat every staff ghost in Time Trials, if fully 100%ing the game would affect my abilities to get the steering wheel (Which I don't think it does, as the steering wheel is obtained via exclusively online play, from my research. Still bringing it up to see if it does actually bear any importance for my goal)...

My Tilt Controls usage in my player statistics page is at about 52% last I checked, leading me to believe that I just need to get that percentage up to 100% in order to unlock the elusive steering wheel icon I so desperately desire. Please tell me if I'm wrong about anything here, any additional suggestions to reach my goal would be definitely appreciated! Thanks!

I asked ChatGPT to rank all the tracks in 8 Deluxe

Here's a ranking of every track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from worst to best, with brief explanations for each placement:

  1. Baby Park

A simple oval track that can feel monotonous and chaotic, especially with items flying everywhere. Its lack of complexity makes it less appealing.

  1. Wario Stadium

While it has a nostalgic vibe, the track's design feels outdated, with tight corners and few shortcuts that can lead to frustration.

  1. Toad’s Turnpike

The constant traffic can be a hassle, making it challenging for newcomers and even veterans. The layout is not as engaging as others.

  1. Moo Moo Meadows

This track is charming but lacks excitement. The wide paths and minimal hazards can make races feel less thrilling.

  1. Choco Island

The chocolate theme is cute, but the lack of elevation changes and shortcuts makes it feel bland compared to other tracks.

  1. Daisy Circuit

A straightforward design that lacks memorable features. The layout is basic, making it easy to forget.

  1. Dry Dry Desert

The sandstorms and lack of significant shortcuts can slow races down, making this track feel tedious at times.

  1. N64 Bowser’s Castle

This track has some cool visuals, but the tight turns and lava pits can lead to a lot of frustration.

  1. Mario Circuit

A classic track that feels a bit underwhelming compared to others in the game. It lacks the creativity found in newer designs.

  1. Yoshi Valley

While it’s visually interesting, the multiple paths can be confusing, leading to inconsistent racing experiences.

  1. Coconut Mall

A nostalgic favorite, but the layout can feel repetitive, and the reliance on NPCs can be a mixed bag in terms of fun.

  1. Sky Garden

A visually stunning track but can be hindered by its narrow paths and reliance on item luck.

  1. Cheese Land

The unique cheese theme is fun, but the track layout lacks the excitement found in other courses.

  1. Cloudtop Cruise

Beautiful aesthetics and a fun theme, but some parts can feel too easy, lacking the challenge that many players seek.

  1. Delfino Square

A classic with charm, but it can feel chaotic with its tight corners and lack of clear shortcuts.

  1. F-Zero Mute City

Fast-paced and thrilling, but the lack of detailed shortcuts makes it feel less strategic than other tracks.

  1. Hyrule Circuit

A fun crossover that adds unique elements, but the track can feel overly simplistic for veteran players.

  1. SNES Choco Island 2

A nostalgic track with a straightforward layout, but it doesn't offer the excitement found in more modern tracks.

  1. Ice Ice Outpost

The dual-path layout is intriguing, but the ice mechanics can lead to some frustrating moments.

  1. Big Blue

An exhilarating track with high speeds, but it can be a bit one-dimensional, focusing more on speed than strategy.

  1. Mount Wario

A thrilling, downhill race that offers a mix of tight turns and wide paths, keeping things interesting throughout.

  1. Warrior’s Gold Mine

A fun, dynamic track with plenty of hazards and shortcuts that keep players engaged.

  1. Ninja Hideaway

A unique design with multiple paths and hidden areas that encourages exploration and strategy.

  1. Tokyo Blur

A visually stunning track with a blend of familiar and new elements, keeping races fresh and exciting.

  1. Paris Promenade

The changing layout adds a layer of strategy, and its charming design makes it a delight to race on.

  1. Cairn Course

A solid track with a great balance of challenge and fun, encouraging skillful play without being overly punishing.

  1. Electrodrome

A vibrant, lively track with great visuals and a fun atmosphere, keeping races engaging with its twists and turns.

  1. Rainbow Road

The ultimate challenge in the series, this track tests players' skills with its tight turns and lack of barriers, making it both frustrating and exhilarating.

  1. Sunshine Airport

A beautifully designed track with a blend of open spaces and tight turns, plus some clever shortcuts.

  1. New Donk City

An engaging layout that pays homage to Super Mario Odyssey, combining great visuals with interesting design elements.

  1. GCN Mario Circuit

A well-balanced track that combines speed with tight turns, making it a favorite among competitive players.

  1. Dry Dry Desert

A true classic that expertly balances nostalgia with strategic racing, offering multiple paths and exciting moments.

This ranking reflects the overall gameplay experience, design creativity, and balance of challenge and fun across all tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
