Hi,
Has anybody seen/got these?
A new(?) deck from Oishi Tengudo, one of the big 3 remaining Hanafuda makers. It's not mentioned on their website, but that doesn't seem to have been updated in a couple of years.
I’m a basic bitch who first saw hanafuda while watching an episode of game grumps during lockdown. I’d like to get a decent set. I easily saw some on Amazon for $10. Is it worth it? Id like a nice set to be aesthetically pleasing and engaging to be able to teach my significant others and family something they never heard of
Hey everyone! I’m an artist (living in Japan) who creates luxury art playing cards. I’m working on a project to create playing cards that integrate hanafuda.
I’m looking for printers in Japan that print custom hanafuda. I speak conversational Japanese, but if they speak English it would help. Anyone have any ideas?
I just spotted something exciting in the images from the gift shop at the new Nintendo Museum in Kyoto. Alongside the standard Nintendo hanafuda decks, there’s a brand new and exclusive deck that caught my eye. The cards feature patterns that seem to be coated in (faux) gold. I'm curious if there is more information available. The price of 9900 JPY = 69 USD = 62 EUR is a lot more than the regular decks.
I'm completely new to the Hanafuda game. I've found this Nintendo deck in a thrift shop in Italy, seems to be from the 80s but I have found no info on the deck itself nor the shirafuda (blank) card. It contains 49 cards and in the inside of the blue box there is written "PAT". Can anyone help me? Thanks! :)
The multiplayer base isn't terribly active, but the number 3 hanafuda champion hosts lobbies there sometimes! Look for the username 'Bushi'. Anyways, give it a try! Looking forward to online matches with ya'll (:
Hello! So lately I've been thinking about trying to make an American hanafuda deck. And by that I mean like your standard hanafuda deck, but reimagined with flowers that are native or endemic to America.
A few I can think of off the top of my head are stargazer lily, pokeweed, and honeysuckle.
Anyone got any suggestions for others I should go with?
EDIT: I've decided to limit my search to flowers in Indiana, my home state.
I'd like to know where could I buy (online) a decent kabufuda deck because it seems that all I can find are hanafuda decks! I live in Spain, so it'd be cool to know about how much should I expect to pay for shipments Thank you!!
I'll eventually display all of these in a custom picture frame with an acrylic panel. I'll be making the frame myself (I have a wood shop in the garage).
Let me know if you have any questions like identifying a set.
this rulesheet is not very good, but good luck trying to play it this way.
Hi, about a week ago I bought two decks of this hanafuda, I paid $20 MXN (about 1$ USD) each. This was my first time knowing what hanafuda is, so I searched about the deck and what is its regular price, but I only found the history of how and why this deck was created, but nothing about how much it is worth.
Did I just found a super rare treasure, or just a good deal?
There were like another 4 decks in the second-hand store where I found them, so if they are like a super limited edition I am totally coming back to that store to buy the rest of them.
Some pieces
Hey, so I just got a deck of hanafuda for my birthday yesterday and was going through the deck and familiarizing myself with the cards when I saw this card in the box separate from the rest of the cards (the cards were in a box inside the card holder and this card was wedged in between the box and the holder). I thought it was just crammed in there to save space but looking online I can't figure out what month/group it belongs to. I thought it was a ribbon card from Febuary or March but it just doesn't look right. All other cards are accounted for.
Can anyone help?
So long story short, I'm trying to buy around 50 decks to give out at a family event as party favors. They don't have to be super fancy or nice, but I'm having issues finding a place to buy them. I've found Hanafuda Hawaii, which seems to be my best option considering a lot of the AliExpress places seem to need a minimum order of like 1000. I figured I'd ask around and see if there were any places that may support smaller bulk orders.
One of the most beautiful modern hanafuda deck. Each card has a unique yokai. Bought it in Tokyo in offical merchandise store near Senjoji temple. It has 2 unique new game rules written in the manual.
