Gore has been locked in this season and Verlander is vulnerable in his first game of the year, I think our bats will get busy early tonight and we’ll be on our way to a series win and above .500.
We’re in an absolutely loaded division but I think we’re right in the mix early in the season. Damn proud of this team!
Anyone got any idea why they got rid on being able to order in the app? I found it really useful in terms of avoiding any lines.
Seems like a regressive step.
Hello Nationals fan. I'm an Astros fan coming in peace. My wife and I are long time Astros fans and are visiting tonight's game. Seats on third base side, section 115. We are super excited!
Anything we need to know? Recommended foods? Recommended places to eat before or after game? Anything I need to see in the stadium?
For perspective, we are long time fans from the 70's and try to catch several road games a year. Of course we were upset that we lost the 2019 WS, but it couldn't have come from a team that more deserved it. You guys simply beat us. Out played us and earned it. Well deserved. I was mad because I wanted to blame it on a bad call or whatever. Nope....simply the better team won. Good on you guys.
Look for two orange dots in section 115 for D tonight.
Can we petition to get some new flair in this sub?
Nothing overly crazy… but maybe some curly W options or old school Senators W. The DC logo, Screech or some uniform print numbers?
Hey y’all, I want to come see the O’s play on May 8th, but I wanted to take the train. Anyone know if there’s a stop/station right by the stadium, and what’s the best way to get there from Baltimore? Thanks!
I've been doing some thinking, and I think there's nobody who better exemplifies the 2020-2024 Washington Nationals than Kyle Finnegan. Signing as a free agent two months after the Nationals secured their first World Series, Finnegan made his major league debut July 25th, 2020, just over a month shy of his 29th birthday. Since then, I believe there has been nobody that has better exemplified the Nationals of this era since. Sure, we had one, probably two hall of farmers leave in Max Scherzer and Juan Soto. We've had fan favorite all star caliber players shipped off in Trea Turner and Josh Bell. We've received players that will be better, with Josiah Gray notching an all star game, Abrams looking like a stud, and Ruiz signing on to the team long term. Corbin has been are most notable face, being the worst qualifying starting pitcher of the first half of the decade and receiving the brunt of the sabermetric attention of recent years. Yet Finnegan I think truly embodies the spirit, the core of this team. He is not someone who will go down as a great pitcher. He is not going to be an all star in his career. He will not garner national attention (no pun intended). But in his own special way, he has been solid. In 235 games, he has thrown 235 innings to a tune of a 3.52 era and 57 saves. He's been ok, with 2.5 war across four seasons with the club and a 118 era+ as a closer, but that's been what we've needed. We've suffered through the 7 era months, and we've seen him lead the league in saves through 20 games. He's not someone who will make fans of say, the diamondbacks, sink when they see him warming in the bullpen, but he has a special appeal to us. We have all come to know the Kyle Finnegan experience, and what a microcosm it is of the rebuild era. Every loss seems like a forgone conclusion, every win, an uplifting and joyous occasion coming seemingly from nowhere. But unlike the Gores and the Grays and the Abrams's, he is not in the long term plans for this team. He is our rebuild glue guy.
Does anyone have a parking pass they can’t use for the game this Sunday, April 21? Taking my sons to their first game and would really appreciate one. Thanks in advance!
Jesus Lerners, please hand him his tin foil hat in exchange for his Nats cap, send him on his way, and next offseason remember that if KC can sign a couple of competent SP - because even a potentially crappy team needs to get over 4,000 outs in a season - then so can Washington

Get him the heck outta here please.
Couple of pretty solid ticket deals on deck if you have firm plans to go to a game.
2. Costco also have the regular field level ticket pack discounted to $55, so $27.50/ticket all in
The concession credit tickets shake out to ~$36/ticket once all the bullshit fees get tacked on.
Recently, I found myself thinking about the 2022 Juan Soto trade after seeing him playing like as well as he has been for the Yankees thus far in the season. He is currently hitting 344/468/541 with a 191 OPS+ and 1.2 WAR in just 16 games played. As with most Nats fans at the time, I was upset and though he was crazy when he declined 15 years and $440 million. But after some thinking, I realized that trading Soto may have been the better move in the long-term in helping us accelerate the rebuild. Here is the list of what we got for Soto and Josh Bell back in 2022.
Looking back on it, I think we absolutely fleeced San Diego. Especially considering we had little other choice than to trade him after he rejected the 15 year, $440 million contract the Nats offered him. A combination of young big leaguers (Abrams and Gore) and top prospects (Wood - MLB #14 and Hassell - Nats #8) that sets the foundation for the team. The fleece becomes more apparent when you consider that San Diego did nothing with Soto and had him off of the team less that 2 years later. Probably a good move on their part considering they are already locked up to Machado, Tatis, and Bogaerts, and Soto was due for a massive contract.
As much as I hated to see him go, it was probably the best for both Soto and the team. I'm sure he wouldn't have liked being forced to play for a rebuilding team in the prime of his career. And I'm sure the team would regret the $29.3 million AAV of that contract during a rebuild when team payrolls are relatively low. Now, Soto gets to play for a competitive (maybe?) team willing to give him a MASSIVE bag in the offseason, and the Nats get several core pieces to accelerate the rebuild. These guys in addition to the 2 from the Scherzer/Turner trade (Josiah Gray and Keibert Ruiz) and our draft picks (Dylan Crews - MLB #7, Brady House - MLB #46, and Yohandy Morales - MLB #99, among others) gives the Nats a bright future.
Now, I could be all wrong about this and we could turn out to be the next White Sox ( That being, a bunch of young, talented guys who constantly underperform, are incredibly inconsistent, and are repeatedly wrecked by injuries). Maybe Soto goes on to be the next Mickey Mantle and leads New York to 7 championships. Only time will tell. But I think that this is an important conversation to have regarding the future of this team. You hear about teams like the Marlins (Miguel Cabrera and Adrian Gonzalez), the Padres (Max Fried and Trea Turner), and even the Nats/Expos (Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez) prematurely trading young players who go on to have successful careers with other teams. Of course that is not what I want for the Nationals, to have let a superstar slip through their fingers. But, I also want Soto to be able to play in an environment where he is able to thrive and be the best version of himself.
I apologize for the brain dump and rambling, I have been and having mixed thoughts all day and wanted to get it off my chest. Would love any thoughts or feedback!

Good afternoon:
Looking for some tips on visiting Nationals Park. Some friends and I are swinging through catching games in Pitt, DC, and Baltimore.
We will be driving from Pittsburgh to DC for the game. Should I take the metro in? If so where's the best station to come from? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated as I am not familar with the DC area.
Anyone have any tips on riding the metro from Gainesville commuter lot on i-66 to the game on Saturday?
We used to park at the Ritz Carlton for free and ride to DC from there because my parents had employee parking permits. Last year I payed around $60 for parking in DC and don't want to do that again.
Planning to take my daughter this coming weekend, and wondering about how early you have to get there before gates open to reasonably expect to get a voucher. Also, in previous years, they would only open the gate on the far right at the center field entrance at the official "gates open" time. Is that still the case? Thanks!
