The Twins and Juan Soto

Are the Twins interested in Juan Soto?

It wouldn't be an off-season if the Twins weren't interested in every free agent on the market. It's kind of like knowing there's a kid from your neighborhood who is interested in every toy in the toy department, but their parents only give them enough money for green plastic army men and a gumball.

Am I delusional for thinking Eddy Julien at 1st makes no sense?

I see this pop up a lot and I have never understood why Julien at 1st makes any sense. I know the argument is our infield is full so kick him to 1st because his defense is worst of those guys but.. he struggles fielding ground balls do we really think he’s going to dig balls out of the dirt or handle C4s one hoppers?

I see Julien at 1st being a mega blunder. Before we had Santana I used to not care at all about 1B defense, but seeing Santana actually be a natural 1B made me realize there’s a lot of small things a 1B does that we havnt been getting with throwing Kiriloff or Solano or Sano over there.

If we’re going to keep Julien, I think it’s in our best interest to have him play 2B/DH or if we really really need a spot for him, maaaaybe LF but I don’t even think LF is a good idea.

I’d rather we go out and sign a natural 1B or trade for one. The value we get from one is just too high to throw Julien over there. I’m more on board with moving Buxton to 1B than Julien with Erod coming up.

The last foul ball ever hit into the stands at the Metrodome

This ball right here is the final foul ball ever hit at the Metrodome! It was during the ALDS against the Yankees in 2009. It was our final chance to come back in the bottom of the 9th to keep the series alive. Delmon Young was up at bat. Mariano Rivera was closing for the Yankees. I had the dumb luck of having a friend sell me a ticket for a seat in the 20-something row on the first base line. I still have the ticket stub packed away. Anyway, eventually Delmon hit a monster line drive directly at me. I may came in very hot but I somehow avoided direct contact and the ball landed right between my feet. I immediately grabbed it and raised my arms over head triumphantly while noticing I was on the Jumbotron. Great moment! That was Delmon’s second strike, if I remember correctly. Anyway, we fizzled out and lost the game shortly thereafter. The season was over and the era of the Metrodome was finished forever. Being the young dumbass I was, I had no clue at the time that I had to authenticate it that night at the stadium. So, ignorantly, I went to the new Twins Headquarters recently opened at the new stadium the next morning thinking the Jumbotron footage or television footage could back me up, but they turned quickly me away.
So, I missed the chance to verify it for the sake of posterity, but I’m happy to have it and I’m more than pleased to have a ball with Mariano Rivera’s DNA all over it from the very last Twins game ever played in the Metrodome!

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now? [Serious]

Everyone always quotes this song on this sub, and I was wondering where it came from. When I was growing up, my parents had a VHS documentary of the 1987 Twins World Series and I remember that song being part of it. Did we get it from there, or is it just some coincidence?

Best hotel in MPLS to stay?

I’d like to come for a couple of series this upcoming year and am looking for a hotel within reasonable walking distance from Target Field? Also open to recommendations for Bloody Marys near the Field! TIA

Guess the Twin by their 2024 Statcast, round 5.

Another position player today. Seems like these are getting fewer and fewer responses, so let me know if you all would like me to continue or if it's played out.

Came across these old papers in a box, what do I do? Toss them? Save them? Sell them? Cut them up and frame them? Any ideas or experience with this?

Did Willi get snubbed?

I know he's not the ONLY utility guy in the league, but I feel like he's the highest profile one, especially after making the all-star game this year. Maybe it's because we're too close to it to really see past him and notice other utility guys, but I'd really have to think about it to come up with 2 other utility guys in the AL. It almost feels like because he was selected as the all-star utility guy this year, they didn't give him the gold glove because they felt like they should spread around the accolades regardless of who really deserved it. Or was this Dylan Moore guy really better than Willi?

Funniest moments of the season

What are the funniest moments of the season? I personally think Manuel Margot setting the all-time record for pinch hitting appearances without a hit was hilarious.
