Hey all,
Hope you are doing well over this thanksgiving holiday. Next month I am starting on a video project covering the final game at the coliseum. I want it to act as a full takedown of John Fisher, but in order to do so, I need the most important voices to be heard loud and clear. Voices from those who never had an outlet yet were affected the most. What I need is a video from you, doesn’t have to be the best quality, expressing your thoughts and feelings on John Fisher. I’d like for it to be 30 seconds or less in length. Please email it to me at nomorefielders@gmail.com with the heading “Message to John Fisher”
Thank you all. I hope to hear from you soon.
Pretty much sums up the current state of affairs.
Is somebody on-site 24 hrs a day?
Asking for a friend….
Hi, I was assigned a group project for a class and my group needs help collecting responses for our survey.
The survey asks questions about your experiences with baseball and the Oakland A's team. It only takes a few minutes to complete. It would be a huge help if a few of you did it.
Here's the link: https://ucriverside.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2lW1KfFdqjclazs
Thank you in advance to anyone who decides to help.
My wife and I have been collecting stamps from all the ballparks we’ve visited, and as it happens I never got a stamp in our passport from the coliseum. I’ve had season tickets from 2012-2014 plus have gone to so many games since. I moved to San Diego six years ago and only returned to the coliseum for the reverse boycott game and it didn’t seem right to get a stamp that day. I thought I would return before they left but I was not able to get back up to Oakland. Can anyone help me out?
Was reading about the Rays schedule change and saw this
I’m buying my last A’s jersey. I’d like to buy it for a player that’ll actually be on the team this year.
Like clockwork, every time I’ve bought an A’s jersey, the rat bastards that be have traded that player the same year. My credit card and the 40 man roster have become intrinsically linked, the purchase of a jersey has made me the Oracle of doom, destroyer of lineups.
Please for the love of all that is holy help me pick a name and number that will not be playing for the Braves, Mets or Blue Jays next year. I am currently looking at JT Ginn and Lawrence Butler. Please tell me if that is a bad idea.
Thanks and FJF.
EDIT: Taking a chance and bought JT Ginn - 70. Thanks for all the reccs.
I read an ESPN+ article yesterday that says the A's are one of the teams to watch in the off-season free agency market. That it has been stated we are looking to carry a franchise record $100M payroll next season. A) do we believe that? B) can we attract players to Sacramento? C) rightly so, it mentions we need pitching the most, who else would be a good free agent besides Sean Manaea? And, D) I'll be stoked if we get Sean back, his regular season pitching is solid, his playoff pitching seems to have taken a step forward with the Mets, and I know there's always hope each season, but it's doubtful we'll make the playoffs anyway, so are y'all excited to potentially bring Sean back, or not?
Im trying to get a Vida Blue jersey and the only site I found with one is athleticsmlbshoponline.com, it has no correlation to the actual mlb shop. It’s pretty sketchy.
They can't do any better?
Does anyone know if I can find one of the Oakland Kelly Green Jerseys anywhere? One that is not custom or have any player’s names on it.
It would be like the one in this link, except not the big and tall version.
Basically what the Title says:
When I was at the second to last home game, one of the employees ushering us out after the game was telling me the A's aren't leaving and that they'd be back next season with all the confidence in the world. She also admitted that another usher had gotten her a little tipsy, so take it with a grain of salt, but it was a glimmer of hope from a Coliseum employee who was truly trying to enjoy the "last games in the Coliseum". Go Oakland. Thoughts? Has anyone else heard whispers about this? Am I a fool for wanting to believe her?
He’s a business bafoon
not an A's fan but it's a question that's always on my mind. yeah it was an underrated season overall, yeah the walks, but what has always struck me is the sheer amount of dWAR baseball reference gives him. i don't want to say it's entirely unprecedented for a 1B (who usually eat the pretty severe positional adjustment even when they're good defensively), but it's insanely high. 18 drs!!
for people who were watching him day in day out, was he really that spectacular? what was up with that?

"Hi! Do you like…Baseball? Games? The highs and lows of being part of a team competing for a championship? What about memes and shitposting?
If you said yes to any of the above then there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy Major League Redditball! We’re a community of more than 600!! people built around a simple concept and we’re headed into our 11th season…
- The aim of the game is for the hitter to guess a number that’s as close as possible to the number the pitcher they’re facing has submitted
- Bang on? That’s a home run! Close? Maybe an extra base hit!
- Fail miserably? Now you’re out!
The time commitment is totally up to you - the most basic gameplay aspect takes just a couple of minutes a week - but if you’re also looking to make new friends, work on your coding skills or fancy trying your hand at some graphic design that’s awesome too.
We’re mostly a discord based group but our games are played on our subreddit r/fakebaseball. Head over there and check out the sticky post for a more detailed explainer and a link to our Fake College Baseball discord server.
If you have any questions you can also feel free to DM me or make a comment, and I'll be happy to reply!
We're projected to start S11 on the 25th so time is limited. You'll be in college baseball for 5-6 weeks and then you'll be drafted by a full MLR team.
TLDR: If you’re looking for a fun way to spend anywhere from a couple of minutes to a few hours every week, check out r/fakebaseball and https://discord.gg/c5dct4PqSZ

I’ve seen reports that their stadium deal may be in jeopardy and I can see them using that to move away to Utah in a blink of an eye like the coyotes did
I want to find a poster encapsulating all the greats from the time in Oakland, also that shows “Oakland” or the coliseum. (Originally from dugout report)
