Clayton Kershaw is a World Series Champion!

Media reports in the U.S. have stated, “The Lotte Marines refused to post pitcher Roki Sasaki (22),” but this American report was actually just a “prediction.”

On November 1 (Japan time, November 2), baseball analyst Jim Bowden published an article titled “25 Predictions on Contracts, Trades, and More for the 2024-25 MLB Offseason” on the major U.S. sports site The Athletic. Bowden, who previously served as a GM for both the Reds and Nationals, prefaced his article with, “Welcome to the MLB offseason! Here are my bold (or maybe not-so-bold) predictions for the 2024-25 offseason. Share your own predictions in the comments.”

Sasaki was listed as the third prediction, stating, “Roki Sasaki will not be posted by his team, the Chiba Lotte Marines. The talented Japanese right-hander will have to wait another year before attempting a move to the majors. This prediction will disappoint the Dodgers, who were hoping for an opportunity to sign him this offseason.”

On October 31, Bowden also mentioned MLB teams interested in acquiring Sasaki, saying, “If he were posted, he would become the most hotly contested free agent of the offseason. The Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, and Diamondbacks all sent large scouting teams, including top team executives, to evaluate him this month.”

I wrote this up as a reply in a thread about Roki Saski potentially not getting posted again, but I think it is worth a deeper drive.

The starting pitchers under contract and healthy next season is already:

• Shohei
• Glasnow (assuming he's healthy)
• Yamamoto
• Kershaw
• Gonsolin
• Frasso
• Bobby
• Casper
• Knack
• Sheehan
• Robo
• May (if he is actually a starter still is heavily debatable)

That's 12 guys. 5 that are guaranteed to be in the rotation on day one, assuming they're all healthy, leaving 7 others to potentially fight for a 6th spot and fill triple A. It's definitely possible that May and Casper find their way to the bullpen instead of starting.

It's likely that Gonsolin, Frasso, Sheehan and May all cap out around 150 innings max. Possibly Shohei too.

If Buehler and/or Flaherty are brought back, then that's 6/7 guys that have to be in the rotation for sure.

Then we have all the other starters in the minors that will be one year older that can potentially get called up.

The rotation is in a pretty good spot... I'm thinking a couple of these guys might get traded.

Hoping to see Will and Kike (utility) win Gold Gloves today. I had no idea how phenomenal our defense was until seeing it up against the comedy of errors by the Yankees throughout the WS. The irony is that Volpe, Soto and Verdugo are AL finalists. I can see Edman being a finalist after his Matrix-esq infield plays this October.

Has anyone bought one of these? How’s the quality? .. also having a hard to time choosing which one to buy. I know green isn’t our color, but I’m feeling that one

I am still on a high from this week. It's all been such an amazing, redeeming, and rewarding feeling as a fan. This was meant to be for all of us.

2025. Game 1 of the season. Who is our opening Day Starter? Do we kick off the magic with Shohei's triumphant return to the mound? I get goosebumps just thinking about him dealing and being his former dominant self.

I’m aware that sports memorabilia stores have signings but is there any websites that has a list of all location possible and dates trying to get my 2024 ws newspaper signed 🥸 I have 2 more if anybody needs one

Which ones are your favorites? Any items that don’t come out now but good to wait for? I saw some folks posted about jerseys being released next year that have a WS championship element. Anything else cool worth waiting for or buying? Some stuff is just so tacky but there is some good stuff out there.

Gotta be in the hundreds for me. Still get pumped every time
