There’s presumably a hold up w/ Teoscar signing with the Dodgers, and we’re still in the game for his services, but if we miss out on him, where do we go from there?
Would it be worth going back to the White Sox to see what their asking price is for Louis Robert Jr?
If each player had to dh Would you rather have Pete Alonso or Bregman?
The Padres are in a budget crunch. It’s being announced that Dylan Cease and Luis Arraeź are available. Front line starting pitching and a defensive wizard who leads the league in average every year. The Sox need both. The Pads need a corner outfielder and they need pitching depth, along with their financial freedom. Here’s my knee-jerk trade offer:
Dylan Cease and Luis Arraeź to the Sox, Wilyer Abreau, Kutter Crawford and a few prospects, outside of the top 3.
Would the Sox have to include a top 3 prospect with the two cheap everyday players?
Not trying to dwell on the Soto situation, but one thing is sticking with me. Twitter @BeyondAvgMick continually doubled down saying Soto had signed with Boston. Is he just a troll? Was he horribly misinformed? I don't know anything about the guy but I've never seen anyone who is anywhere near the status of a real journalist double/triple/quadruple down on complete BS like that. My gut says troll but I'm curious what everyone else thinks.
This is a slam dunk signing for the Red Sox and they won't do it. They literally have money to burn this offseason and they refuse to spend anything on pitching. Bargan bin hunting in terms of free agents.
Corbin Burnes would give us an elite 1-2 punch that would get us to the playoffs at least if not the division and John Henry just won't do it.
Sam Kennedy mentioned that they are willing to go over the tax and that was a lie of course. We have a clear need, money and they won't do it because they are cheap.
Honestly Red Sox are no longer a big market team. They are a mid market team that hunts for bargains and tries to low ball every free agent. I am supposed to be believe that they offered Fried 190M for 7 years but won't offer 250M for like 8 for Burnes?
I am very disappointed. It's right in front of us and they are cheap

JUST UPDATED FOR 2024
I have a photo history CD/thumb drive of the Red Sox. CD/thumb drive contains complete photo player rosters for the following years…..1941, 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1990 through 2024….3350 photos. Photos are grouped together on the CD/thumb drive by team. Every photo has a description under it: “1995 John Doe SS 95-99” meaning he was a shortstop for the Red Sox from 1995 through 1999.
In addition to photo rosters for the above years, CD/thumb drive contains numerous photos of players from other years, photos of Fenway Park through the years, and images of yearbooks, media guides, team photos, programs, & pocket schedules going back through the years.
99+% of players are pictured in their Red Sox uniforms.
All photos are of a decent size. No postage stamp size photos.
If my Red Sox player photo history CD/thumb drive interests you, please contact me at conklinwj@aol.com for more details. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I believe ownership should look to extend Crochet and Usually ownership is pretty good about extending players of course they haven't extended every player fans have wanted (what team does). Since Crochet is looking for an extension and John Henry doesn't want to spend too much now is the perfect time to extend him he's not too expensive. A 7 year 195 million extension would be perfect for him the contract would be backloaded of course.
Do you think it’s possible to sign buehler to a 1 year prove it deal instead of committing to burnes long term? Buehler has thrown less than 150 inning in 3 years. I know he shoved in the playoffs but what is the value of him? Offer a 1 year say 15 million prove it deal, leaves money to sign Teo. If we win maybe, just maybe we’d be able to get him to resign. We dump a bunch of contracts for 2026, and players like Cease and Senga hit open market. Any thoughts?
I know a lot ride on if Buehler would even take a prove it deal, but I haven’t even seen a lot about his offers yet. Just an idea.
This biggest change is Valdez getting DFA'd and him no longer being at second lol. But assuming we don't make any position player moves, we'd have probably the most elite defensive outfield in baseball with Duran, Rafaela and Abreu being regulars in the OF. Story is very good defensively at short if he stays healthy. Casas took a huge leap forward defensively (9th percentile in fielding value in 2023, 38th percentile in 2024). Carlos Narvaez is fairly well regarded defensively as a catcher and him and Wong are probably gonna platoon. Wong isn't great with framing or blocking, but he at least throws guys out well. The biggest question mark will be 2nd and 3rd. If we can get decent defense from 2nd, we might finally be an okay defensive team again
Look I loved the crochet trade, it was gorgeous. Front end blue chip starter only 25 years old. This trade really opens up all possibilities to BUY wins for free. No more horizontal trades. I’m really going to pissed if we trade Abreu, and if it’s Casas I’ll rage quit. Only type of trades I’ll accept are a Yoshida type if it’s to balance the team/maybe swap for another unwanted contract like Luis Castillo or Jordan Montgomery
I personally think Flaherty is a completely reasonable ask. He just had a great season and was top 10 in k/bb ratio. That means he has pretty nasty stuff. It won’t be an insane contract like Burnes, but it’s a leg up from Buehler who I don’t want any part of. He looks mostly washed and would classify as another “dumpster bin diving”. We’re still not close to the luxury tax. Time to step up Henry
Any idea if the Sox will go after burnes? Maybe flaherty. I feel like they need another starter just in case.
I think I've seen is that he exercised his option. But does anybody know if he's even doing side sessions or anything like that at this point?
Would you trade Durran to the Mariners for Castillo?
Crochet Castillo Bello Houck Giolito
That’s a SOLID rotation even if Castillo is not what he was. He can mentor the others and would be a solid 2/3. Would love Gilbert instead since M’s likely not to extend but I think the cost will be high.
Just the title. I would love to see him come back. Obviously Burnes would be somewhat better, but mostly just more flashy imo. Pivetta has a CY somewhere in his future
Crochet lead the league with 12.88 K/9 (min 100 innings)
Asked a source if there were legs to a deal involving Triston Casas for Luis Castillo. The answer was straightforward: “No.”

Okay, so the Red Sox finally did something good. They had to give up Teel, but I can live with that. I'm excited to see Crochet pitch; I know his name but not much about him. I hear he's awfully good though. Now the Sox should sign a low risk, high reward guy, like Walker Buehler or even Nathan Evaldi to round out the rotation.
