I’m a service advisor at a ford dealer in metro Detroit. This morning, Eric came in to drop his truck off for some maintenance. When he cashed out, I went up and talked to him for a few minutes, nice guy! I know he’s not with us anymore, but regardless a super cool moment I got to have today. Cheers guys
On the valenti show yesterday at around 4:00 if you wanted to listen to the segment. We were mentioned in an article that asked “which small market team will make the most noise this off-season” we were listed as number 2……….Am I missing something here because I a almost 100% certain we are not at all a small market like Cincinati or Pittsburg or Tampa bay or Milwaukee. Do you guys think we are a small market because I think that’s a load of crap if you ask me.
Hi all,new 1901 member. Went to Blakes for the members event and headed to LCA tomorrow for the Holiday photo ops. Just curious if anyone has pics of past events,or describe how it is. TIA

I realize it was… different from the old park. But seeing hitters REALLY having to “earn” their home runs, particularly in the steroid era, was kind of fun. It forced teams to play (or at least try to play) a different type of ball. In a parallel universe, I would have liked to see what would have happened if they kept the original dimensions for a few more years.
Wasn't online yesterday, but the Jason Benetti post about him announcing the college football game got three reports. All three reports in some way calling the post "spam"
Personally I don't think we need a post each weekend as we know Benetti does National Broadcasts for College Football and Basketball, but thought I'd ask here in case anyone has a strong argument for keeping the posts.
###EDIT/UPDATE:
Seems like the community has a consensus. Anything involving Jason Benetti that isn't directly related to the Tigers doesn't need it's own post. We'll start removing them going forward.
The 40-man roster is now at 40.
Do you have any tigers gear on your wishlist? If so, what?
We've got 5 months of offseason left for armchair GMs to ponder and speculate. I wanted to take the opportunity to throw my idea out there - the moves I'd actually like Harris to make this offseason as opposed to speculating over what he's likely to do or over what's possible.
In short: Sign Blake Snell, trade for Garret Crochet and work hard on a front-loaded extension for Tarik Skubal.
My theory, not that this is a novel idea, is that right-handed hitters tend to struggle with power at Comerica Park and the Tigers absolutely need to lean into that. Left-handed starters see a lot of right-handed bats. Tarik Skubal has been a much better pitcher at home than on the road and I don't think that's random. Reese Olson and Casey Mize aren't better at home, but they're righties.
Blake Snell is a lefty with 2 Cy Youngs under his belt and would give the Tigers an elite 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation again. He's forecast for a 5-year, $160 million contract and didn't (couldn't) get a QO so the Tigers wouldn't lose a pick. I'd prefer an incentive-laded contract that could push the value much higher if he's healthy and effective. In his case, getting an extra $20 million per Cy Young award could be a nice bonus.
Garret Crochet is another lefty with elite stuff, who should be a Cy Young contender in any full, healthy season. He's in his first arbitration year, but sounds highly motivated to sign a long-term extension (as frankly most pitchers should be, given their injury risks). An armchair GM is always going to be way off when speculating over what another team would require in a trade to part with a guy (though they are expected to try to move him this offseason) - but I'd guess that Jace Jung, Hao-Yu Lee, Ty Madden and Keider Montero might be enough-but-not-too-much. It certainly has to be headlined by a top-100 prospect and rebuilding teams tend to prefer prospects that are major-league ready or close to it.
The next step would be to find a replacement for Jace Jung at 3rd, that doesn't cost a lot of money (since the Tigers are throwing a lot at Blake Snell). There are a lot of bad options, but I might suggest a make-good deal for Yoan Moncada who always hit well at Comerica Park - or just handing it over to Matt Vierling.
And the step after that would be to make the case to Tarik Skubal that this is the place he should stay long term, after it's already made clear that this team intends to win.
Tarik Skubal is the 21st unanimous Cy Young Award winner since 1956. Roar on skubs.
Pay Skubal. For starters. Do it. Give him the moon. Do not let him go anywhere else.
Go out and surprise the world. Go get Polar Bear, Vladdy, SOMETHING.
Go get someone to pair with Skubal to dominate.
After this season I am convinced we can win a World Series. Now we just need to make the right moves. We know we can build youth now sprinkle some power and vets and dominate 2025. PLEASE.
