How long before Max Signs

Exactly what the title says how long do we think before Max Fried signs his new contract wherever that may be??

I still think his most probable places is San Diego, New York (either team) or maybe Bostpn.

I know everyone thinks the Dodgers are locked for him, but I think they’d be more willing to resign walker and few other guys before paying Max what he’s gonna want esp with the money they spent last offseason on their Japanese pitchers. Thats just my thoughts though!

What’s Next After Trading Jorge Soler?

Use the savings to sign an OF? Non-tender Canning and sign SP?

Thank God the Braves won the 2021 NLCS

Imagine an alternate universe where we lose to the Dodgers for the 4th time in 9 years (2013, 2018, 2020, 2021).... and then Freddie joins them. Then the 100+ win Braves flame out in 22 and 23, and Freddie leads the Dodgers to the World Series in 2024. Hard to even envision the amount of salt I'd have. As it stands Freddie got us a title, and I was happy to see him win WS MVP. But if we'd lost that series, I'd be so bitter about everything.

We need to sign literally anyone named Will Smith this offseason if we’re going to win a World Series.

A team with a Will Smith on their roster has won a World Series for the 5th consecutive year.

2020 - Will Smith (C) - Dodgers

2021-2023 - Will Smith (RP) - Braves, Astros, Rangers

2024 - Will Smith (C) - Dodgers

Baseball hot takes anyone have any? (Braves or non braves)

I’ll go first. I don’t care how good the man was on our team Freddie freeman is now the enemy and I don’t give a shit about him. Coming to this subreddit and seeing nothing but dodger stuff because of Freddie is annoying. Second shohei ohtani is overrated as fuck. 700 million dollars for one man is out of this world. Ronald hitting 40/70 while fielding every game of 2023? “He didn’t earn it. Bigger bases yada yada” ohtani hits 50/50 while not pitching a single inning? “Gods gift to the world best player of all time!”

Those are my two: I’d love to hear everyone else’s whether they agree or disagree. However I’d like to avoid people just calling everyone an idiot we can all be adults and have our own opinions..

TLDR: leave your hot takes below and be respectful adults.

Sonny Gray

I’m a life long Cards fan, though my fiancé is a diehard Braves fan and I’ve grown up in GA, so the Braves are a damn close second.

Recently the Cardinals front office has said they’re cutting payroll and one of the big pieces rumored to move is Sonny Gray. Gray has said he wants to play close to his home in Tennessee, and with the Braves being the closest team and possibly losing Fried, it seems like a perfect fit with AA wanting to remain in WS contention once everyone recovers.

My question is, assuming Gray waives his no-trade clause, would Braves fans want to trade for him? And if so, who would you expect to give up in a trade to get him?

It is 100% ok to be upset with the Braves lack of October wins following the title. But….it could always be worse.

Some perspective on how other teams in the last 10 years have done following a title.

2014 Giants. 2 playoff appearances since. Current 3 year playoff drought following a number 1 seed in 2021.

2015 Royals. 8 year playoff drought that just ended. No winning seasons in between.

2016 Cubs. 3 playoff appearances since. Current playoff drought of 4 years.

2018 Red Sox. 1 playoff appearance since. Current playoff drought 3 years.

2019 Nats. 5 losing seasons since.

Apart from the Astros (cheaters) and Dodgers ($$$$$$$$$), most teams slip into irrelevance after a parade.

The moral: things could be better. But they could also be worse. Way worse.

Matt Olson was the best hitter against 2024's top NL pitchers

I was curious about who the best hitters are when it comes to facing the top pitching talent, so I did the analysis, compiling batting stats against the top NL pitchers.

I defined a top pitcher as a qualified SP with an ERA under 4.00 or a qualified RP with an ERA under 2.50 (31 NL pitchers met this qualification - 16 SPs and 15 RPs), and then used the Stathead versus finder to compile all the relevant matchup data.
