mlb manager for 17 seasons: 9 with the padres | 8 with the rockies. in 17years he managed only 4 winning seasons. enough with his bidding or the excuses with this guy. there is no metric in baseball or common everyday life that should support him remaining in this job. let alone simply look at the last 6 years with the club all a losing record. stop the nonsense while he is not the sole reason for the rockies piss poor performance over the years he certainly hasn’t managed to improve the situation.
If I was running the Colorado Rockies, I'd like to have a more experienced reliever as the closer because as much as I love the stuff Seth Halvorsen has, he really should get some more innings under his belt before we appoint him as our closer of the future. Instead, why don't we go for a cheap sinkerballer on a one year deal worth about $3 million. Scott Alexander might be the perfect candidate for that as he has a career groundball rate over 60% and has never had a season below this year's 60% in his entire MLB career. Granted, he's not a flamethrower with an average sinker velocity of about 92 but he's not easy to hit a homer off of. He would also likely be a decent trade chip at the deadline like Jalen Beeks was for us this last year.
I’m a Diamondbacks fan born and bred in Phoenix. We’re all at home watching the playoffs at home. But damn, Kris Bryant has been robbing the Rockies since he signed the contract. He was a great player in the mid 2010s. Do you guys he will have a comeback year? I am hoping he will cause your team doesn’t deserve this garbage play.
PS I love Dinger. And I loved & respected Charlie as a player, I will miss him.
From a recent email. 🤣
If you put yourself in Dick Monforts shoes, who or what is to blame for the obvious failure of the club? He probably doesn’t see himself as the problem, so what does he see? What actions has he taken to address the problems that he thinks is tanking the organization?
EDIT: If all Dick Monfort cares about is making money, then why haven’t people been opposing their efforts to develop land around Coors field?
Rockies are my 3rd favorite team after the Mariners and Brewers. I follow them and always root for them. Even went to a game at coors against the Mariners this year (the extra innings game, game 1 of dh).
For the life of me I don't get how Black still has a job. Two straight 100 loss seasons. No winning record since I think 2018. Just seems like an easy scape goat.
Is the answer just owners that don't give a shit?
I'm not afraid to say it, free food was better than anything that the Rockies put on the field .. kept me interested in the games to see if a double was hit...
Hope they do it again next season !!
Not that the Braves and Mets have eliminated the DBacks for the final two spots in the NL, who are you pulling for?
I'm backing the Phillies, but will root for the NL in the WS as long as it's not the Dodgers or Padres. Hate them both, but I'd root for even them over the Astros.
Will pay a reasonable price for one of the City Connect giveaway beanies.
Now that the season is wrapped up, what are some of your favorite moments/memories?
For me:
-Opening Day grand slam
-some old guy passing me a J when his granddaughter went to the restroom
-Nolan Jones Dinger sliding glove
-Chuck getting a fitting farewell
by himself with his number out there was one of those magical sports moments im glad i got to be a part of. I’m a fan of all sports but those magical baseball moments always seem so one of a kind.
The title says it all….. I don’t think I’ve had more Double Cheeseburgers in my life and thanks to the Rockies for ending the madness.
Let’s see how long it takes me to lose the weight…..
Edit: correct burger type
So after 3 full seasons with the Rockies Kris Bryant has yet to play a whole season worth of games. He is currently at 159 games played in a Rockies uniform with only 4 more years on his contract at $27 million a year until 2028. He has made $78 million in only 159 games played. Fun fact huh.

Does anyone know Sam Hilliard's walk-up song? The Rockies website lists 2 songs:
Sleeping on the Blacktop by Colter Wall
Up the Night by Blake Shelton
But it's not those 2. He's been using a different song since his first home game start on July 4th. I've gone back and watched each game to try and figure what song it is. But the background noise is too loud to hear clearly. I could use some help figuring this out. Thanks
Why in the world would you pull Charlie in the THIRD. Sure he's been a chump manager for the last five years, but that might be the chumpiest decision he's made. Can someone explain that decision to me? I don't have a reason to watch the rest of this game.
Blackmon gives emotional speech to Coors Field before final game 💜 https://thescore.com/s/28512170
Not sure if I’m rooting for us to finish last so our rage is justified. Or second to last so we can have some tiny amount of hope! Either way it’s on!
Thanks for the memories, Chuck. Good luck and best wishes in your future endeavors.
