Hi, I'm Judy! I have a passion for cutting & styling hair and other cosmetology services too. Ilove making people look their best! Some of you may know me from my time spent while working at Colonial Barbershop in Charlotte. I'm now working at Urban Barber & Style located in the Platform Loso. Schedule an appointment or just walk in. I look forward to seeing you and helping you look your best!
Sorry if there's a megathread on this, I looked and didn't see one. I'm coming to Charlotte next week from the north, looks like I might be taking 85 South. Here's the deal.......I am terrified of bridges! Like bad. I can handle small, undramatic bridges, I'm talking about anything high or that has dramatic curves, stuff like that. I've never driven into Charlotte, this will be my first time. I will literally drive an hour out of my way to avoid a scary bridge. So that's why I'm posting. Am I in for any unpleasant bridges coming in on 85?
howdy 🤠 i’m a drummer that just moved back this way from atlanta. mostly indie pop-rock (current project is small pockets, which you can find on spotify), but will dabble in just about anything.
anyone out there looking for a drummer??
Americana, alt-country band Petunia & the Vipers - North American Callin' Me Back Tour in NC, playing at the Thirsty Beaver Sunday, Oct.6, starting at 8pm! A great live band, lift your spirits and dance.
Hi all I will be reaching out to the AG's office on Monday bc of what just occurred. Hubby and I just went to dinner then stopped at Walmart for a few more groceries and of course the obligatory UNCC hoodie after the win. We were getting @42.00 worth of goods and they rang up at 83.85. The tp was marked at 15 and rang up as 32. I told the cashier and showed the picture of the pricing. She was such a a b and kept blaming Helene. I said y'all need to change the prices someone will be a bigger b then me. The guy was like yeah you are right. The girl was on repeat just blaming Helene and WNC. I finally looked at her and said you just don't want to hear what I am saying. I WAS truly trying to be nice and say that they needed to update on pricing. But the turkey we were going to get from the deli was labeled as 5.98 or 6.98 per lb and rang up as 11.05 for a lb. Wunderbar 4.98 rang up as 10.00
Just be aware bc that's Some bs. I don't get mad often but that provoked me.
I'm looking to buy a used car, I have been to CarMax and several dealers but still haven't found the right car or the right dealership. Where did you buy your used car and why did you buy it there?
Looking for a bar in uptown that is showing the fight tonight, thanks ☺️
I live in Concord and rarely travel to down town Charlotte. I was wondering, in situations like in this picture where the rails are in the road, how to you be sure your car isn't getting hit by a lightrail or whatever tracks these are for? do they just drive like a car would but stay on the rails?
We used to go dancing at Dandelion but now that it’s gone, where is a similar dance floor vibe? Thanks!
I was invited to a show at the visualite this evening. I’ve never been to this venue and don’t know what to expect. Is it the kind of place I can drop in for a couple drinks and a couple songs and bounce? Or is it really more conducive to staying the whole show?
I likely can’t make it there before the show starts. I don’t want to be a douche to the performers but would like to catch up with friends if I can.
Thanks!
I’m going out with a friend tonight and we are both new to this area and looking to see where we would have the most fun? I’ve checked on this subreddit for the past two days and narrowed It down to either South end of NoDa. We are both in our early 20’s but don’t want a college (21) type of crowd. Where’s the best place to go? We love dancing and I want to go somewhere in walking distance to other nice bars.
Help!!

TLDR: Is walking from 9th St to First United Methodist Church safe?
Hey everyone, I'm wanting to avoid parking in the city by taking the Lite Rail Blue Line to 9th station and then walking to First United Methodist in a few weeks. The path that Maps is recommending is walking E Ninth St -> N College St -> E Eight St -> W Eight St. I don't know much about the roads and walkways, specifically what streets are safe for a woman (or visibly queer person) to walk alone. Can anyone give me advice and insight on this? If not that path, which would y'all recommend?
Y’all did great work. If you’re interested in this type of thing keep an eye on their website or follow @spookyclt on insta
The promo code is NOTR24A Thought it be helpful for anyone looking for a fun last minute thing to do.
A lot of companies offer donation matching if you donate to any organization. Make sure you double-check before donating, or even if you already donated a lot will still honor the match! I just donated to BeLoved Asheville and my company is going to match 100% of what I donated.
Hey guys! I’m wanting to be of extra help during this time for people in desperate need. If you or someone you know are running supplies/donations up to WNC and could use a lending hand loading up, the drive and unloading, please let me know! I’m available on the weekends to help any way I can.
If you know someone on instagram that’s posting about needing volunteers or help, please put their @ below!
Saw someone post about the shortage. Picked them up day after script sent in. But don’t know about other mgs or er. They had my whole 90 count in stock.
Anyone know a spot in Charlotte to donate furniture for WNC?
My wife (29F) and I (31M) are looking for other board gamers in the area! We're relatively new parents so we just need a night every week/other week to get back into the hobby we love and meet others. We used to do Thursday game nights at Amelie's pre-Covid but things have changed a ton since then.
Hope to find a new go-to spot and meet some of you!
I’m going to a show at The Amp tonight and got a “know before you go email” that says blankets can’t be any larger than 3X5. My concert blanket is bigger than that - 5X6. Anyone know how strict they are?
The company I work remotely for has a corporate office in Charlotte. They are flying everyone in for a company shindig / appreciation celebration this coming week. . I'd like to take a couple of my coworkers that are arriving tonight out to a nice bar with food located in the university area or NODA area. Any recommendations?
TIA
