Wife's bday coming up and want to get her one
an iron giant in the hornet's nest your hunting skills are put to the test. it's not quite a barn, but it's got rustic flair, where time lingers long in the cool open air.
MADE A BET FOR ALOT OF MONEY BUT I HAVE TO FIND THIS PLACE PLEASE HELP ASAP
Begging!! y’all to take your sick kids to a PEDIATRIC emergency department!! every ED is trying it’s best, but children really are such a unique population and do need specialized care.
I work in a pediatric ED in the area….the care I have seen kids receive from free-standing EDs is truly deeply deeply concerning. Parents always seem surprised to learn not all EDs are the same, so I thought I’d share in case others didn’t know.
This looks like Atrium: Levine Children’s (CMC Main), Jeff Gordon (Cabarrus), or Union. Novant: Hemby (Presbyterian). Feel free to comment others :)
Disclaimer: this does NOT apply to time sensitive emergencies like allergic reactions or things like broken bones. This is mainly relevant for respiratory sicknesses (flu, RSV, covid). Please call 911 for any immediate life threatening conditions.
Where in Charlotte do you find the best places for men and women’s clothes?
They should really fix it before people really start thinking it’s the real price.

Looking for somewhere special to take my wife on a Friday night to celebrate our daughter's first birthday. I want to start a tradition of taking my wife out to celebrate the anniversary of us becoming a family/ how strong of a warrior she is. Open to any suggestions that don't envolve the typical upscale chain restaurants.
Yuck 🥲
I have some bridesmaid dresses that I’d love to donate to a organization that gives prom dresses for free or low cost. Any orgs like that in Charlotte?
Does anyone in/around CLT make eggnog?
It's starting to appear on the shelves in the grocery store, but they're pumped full of absurd additives. Even the Publix brand, which is usually pretty good about those things, is all corn syrup and has multiple artificial colors (that are ILLEGAL in many parts of the world and even labeled as a carcinogen by the FDA).
I'm not a health nut but surely someone makes an eggnog that's actually made with eggs and not corn syrup and food coloring.
I’ve seen a few folks have some luck posting on here so I figured I would give it a try. I flew out of CLT this morning to DC but my bag never made it. Apparently Southwest hasn’t scanned it since I checked it in so it never actually made it onto the plane.
Admittedly, I made a few mistakes. I did not pack an Apple tag in the bag, or leave a luggage tag with my name and address on the bag. I stupidly checked my jewelry, which I never do, and part of me is wondering if that’s why my bag “disappeared”, but maybe I’m just being paranoid.
I’ve already filed a claim with Southwest, but there hasn’t been any movement on my claim since I landed early this morning and it says they’re still searching for the bag. I tried calling the Southwest Charlotte baggage office directly but can’t get through to a human.
Is there anyone that works at Charlotte airport that could maybe stop by the Southwest baggage office and check for my bag? Is there anywhere else it could possibly be in holding, like a lost and found somewhere?
Edit: The bag does have the normal baggage tag the airline prints out and attaches with my name, airline, the barcode for scanning, and the airport names on it. I just didn’t use the extra handwritten tags that people sometimes attach.
i need stuff to do for people who are under 21!! preferably stuff around south charlotte but anywhere up to noda is good!
Any recommendations for stair runner installation in the Charlotte area? We recently moved into a townhouse in the Southpark area and the current stair runner needs to be replaced. Thanks for any and all stories/recs!
Any recommendations for a fun NYE out in Charlotte? Looking for a fun bar with dancing/good music or parties.
Hi all,
I’m filing an I-130 petition for an alien relative and need recommendations for a reliable immigration lawyer with experience in family-based cases. If you’ve worked with someone great, especially one who’s responsive and transparent, please let me know!
Thanks!
Is there a place to buy used old books in bulk or places where they sell used books cheaply.
Or does anything like a book fair happen here annually or once in a while?
Has anyone done one of those sip and paint parties and have a recommendation for a place they loved? I’m looking for one that will actually accommodate a teen party in an area south of the city. Would love to hear experiences
What's your favorite hotpot place in Charlotte?
Wife and I went to a Don't Tell Comedy Show a few weeks ago and loved it. Very funny comedians, no overdone political jokes, a few comedians did some edgy comedy that I liked. Highly recommended.
We saw Sarah Silverman last night AND I literally did not laugh a single time.... it was more like a monologue with some decent jokes thrown in. Crazy, because I loved her underappreciated Comedy Central show. Felt like she is just making money off her namesake at this point.
Go local for good comedy in Charlotte. After all, we have a lot to laugh about, toll roads, Altimas, The Panther and Hornets, etc.
Wife and I (mid 30s) are taking a 4 day 3 night trip to Charlotte. We've got a number of breweries planned. What other activities do y'all suggest?
Now that it’s over… who is responsible for cleaning up all of the signage? Is it just up to us, or does the city do it?
Looking to compile a list of family friendly places/events. I have a 3 year old. Just trying to do more things and make memories as we grow. Any events and places we should check out would be greatly appreciated
“Please be patient” “Student Driver”
Is it a joke? Are they instructors using their personal vehicles? I see so many that are obviously not students.
For many years now, I avoid major highways because of panic attacks. I’d like to conquer my fear and drive the open road again. Are there expert teachers that can help me regain my confidence? I see defensive driving classes but most if not all are for new drivers. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
The car is British. The mechanic can be whatever.
I have a 1970 MGB and am looking for a mechanic who can look it over and do some of the maintenance. I've found a few European-focused mechanics in the area, but it looks like they specialize in BMWs, Audis, etc.
Appreciate any suggestions!
Looking for an elopement venue or planner. Max 15 guests, no more than an hour or so. Very budget friendly please
