Charlotte on the Cheap: Daily Events

Hi, just a bit new to the area and hoping to make some friends. I am soon to be 38f-New Year’s day woot!

I live with my boyfriend and cats nearby Charlotte and love excuses to come into the city. I enjoy bookstores, coffee shops, thrifting, walking in nature and downtown areas, going to see live music, reading, movies and shows of course, and being silly and chatting it up. I have traveled a lot for work the last several years and it has made it hard to make lasting connections. Just seeing if I could meet some cool people this way. Shooting my shot I guess! Might be a silly question, but I have been looking for a crew neck sweatshirt that just says "Charlotte" on it to give as a gift to my sister that lives out of town.

We are at strikers huntersville (8-9 y/o boys recreational) and I'm looking for some small group or 1-on-1 training/coaching that's NOT at the higher club level. Work on dribbling and basic other skills. Pricing is at least $50 an hour from what I've found and looking for some cheaper options. Who/what can you recommend?

I saw on Friday the Charlotte Symphony with Circus Soleil at the Knight Theater was one of the coolest events that I have been to in a while. They had mix of Christmas music that you may hear in church plus classical work from the Nutcracker and other performances plus the Polar Express. The acrobatics that the performers did was amazing. I highly recommend. I saw the Circus Soleil has a completely different program at Ovens Auditorium related to Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Hope this does quality as a junk post as I usually don't post this kind of stuff.

Looking for a fun place to take a date dancing. Preferably not country/western.

I’m trying to learn to slow wheelie on a small dirt bike. Anyone know of any tucked away small patches of land that I might be able to practice on? I’m not looking to tear anything up, ride fast, or draw attention. I’m just trying to avoid busting my ass on concrete practicing in an empty parking lot.

Have you guys experienced delayed delivery from Amazon? Nowhere in the news it says Charlotte had been affected by the strikes. Product is in town, just never changes to out for delivery.

The leather stores at concord mills and the outlet mall are gone and the places like express, etc are cheaply made. Where is a good spot to get a decent leather jacket with warm and comfortable lining?
