Hi CLT folks,
Current long-time Asheville resident coming to check out Charlotte 10/15-10/18 to see if I would like to move there this summer. Asheville's full recovery is going to be a longer process than I think any of us can even begin to understand at this point, especially economically, so I think it's time for me to seriously consider moving on. I'm hoping to spend my few days away next week getting some sense of normalcy back for a moment but even more so scoping out the city to see what it might be like to live there. I'm a 39 y/o gay male clinical mental health counselor with a strong interest in plants/horticulture, art, good food and mocktail culture, and open to cultivate new interests/hobbies, if knowing any of that might help you give recommendations for where/what I should check out to get a sense of life in Charlotte. I'm looking to be engaged and entertained, but I'm also trying to get a sense of what the city is like for residents. I'm staying at an AirBnb in Plaza Midwood but I'll have my car and am happy to drive to get to things if I need to. Any recommendations welcome. Thank you in advance!
Hey Reddit!
I’m a 33-year-old male (Hispanic/White, 5'9", brown hair/eyes, fit) visiting Charlotte, NC from San Francisco from Sept 29 to Oct 4. So far, the only thing I have scheduled are some Barry’s Bootcamp classes, but I’m looking for recommendations on fun activities and hidden gems perfect for a solo traveler.
I enjoy a mix of both gay and non-gay things, and I’d love to hear about:
Any tips on how to get around the city would also be appreciated! I’ll likely be relying on public transportation or rideshare.
Thanks in advance for your help! 😊
I’m looking to explore more in the kink community but I also want to make sure it is at a safe and embracing environment. It would be even better if it is somewhere queer🏳️🌈
I want to be used
I'm looking for information about Eros Spa in Charlotte. I'll be visiting at the end of the month from San Francisco and am curious if it's worth checking out or if there are other spa recommendations you'd suggest.
…from New York City. Need to know the perfect place to get an Airbnb that’s close to gay bars. Walking distance prefer. Any advise? Boundaries?
Thanks!
Hi everyone! I’m a transman looking to buy my first binder, and I’m looking for recommendations. I’m looking for one that is cost-friendly, comfortable, and long-lasting. I’m 5’5” and weigh about 200 pounds, with a larger chest and stomach
Hey All - I'm starting a club/group for folks interested in staying active and participating in sports and recreational activities (hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, rec sports leagues etc.). I'm hoping to find maybe 2-3 people who'd like to help organize events and activities. I'm not planning on this being a huge time commitment or super formal. Let me know if you're interested in organizing or in being an active member of the group!
Hi everyone! We're a senior gay couple looking to move somewhere mainly with nicer weather. Charlotte checks off several boxes but was wondering how gay friendly it is. We aren't interested in the gay night life. We want to be able to move around the city without being harassed or even getting side eyes. We're in Chicago where there's no hassles. Are there neighborhoods to focus on for housing? Lastly, my husband is interested in Mooresville/Lake Norman area. Is that area gay friendly or Trumpy? Thanks!
Any lgbtq bikers in the area?
Visiting Charlotte for work this week. I found this spa while looking for fun stuff to do but also saw all the negative reviews. Is it worth going to even if I don’t get any action and/or any relaxation?

Any suggestions to meet gay guys in Charlotte this week? Have a hotel downtown.
Hellooo i (she/her, 24) am not a citizen of Charlotte but a bunch of shit just went down with my partner's job (he/him, 27) and TLDR we may be forced to move to Charlotte. I know absolutely nothing about this place, and im queer so i supposed this was a good start. Its early stages so im just trying to understand what the city is like. We live in atlanta rn and its super open and liberal and accepting within the city and the area we live in. I was just in fort mill, SC and it was ass backwards as fuck ... so im trying to figure out if Charlotte is similar, better, worse, etc. For context we have one dog, and no kids. Ideally kids will come later in life. Any takes would be helpful :)
Can anyone give insight into the age makeup of the league? I'm a 30-something lesbian and haven't been in a Stonewall league since my early 20s, and never in Charlotte. I'm considering social kickball and am curious about the vibe! tyia
I am a researcher at Western Carolina University studying how childhood experiences (including difficult experiences like child maltreatment) relate to adult wellbeing. We are looking to survey people with many different backgrounds, beliefs and experiences. If you would like to participate in the survey, please follow the link below for more information and the survey questions. Some of the topics may be uncomfortable for you. Besides the demographic items, you may skip any questions you don’t want to answer. The survey takes about 15 minutes. Feel free to share this survey with others if you think they are interested in participating. If you have any questions about this study, please contact Dr. David Solomon at dsolomon@wcu.edu.
Hi Charlotte folk!
I'm working on a new digital media venture that would feature travel & leisure content designed specifically for our awesome LGBTQ+ community, delivered primarily through video and social media. It's meant to serve as a travel guide for LGBTQ+ individuals, a LGBTQ+ news hub, as well as a celebration to those dedicating their life to creating and maintaining the best queer-friendly destinations in the world.
We're in early, early stages, and it would be sooo helpful if we could get some help from you all by taking this super short 3-5 minute anonymous survey linked above. It's designed to help us understand better the kind of content people would like to see.
Much love y'all!
My partner (30m) and I (32m) are looking for other people in the area to play Diablo 4 with. Typically play nights and weekends. DM me for battle tags.
I mean, lower than the local discords I found (most of which I left once I realized I was not in the age bands of any of the active users) lower than Facebook groups and Fetlife groups I've found - what gives?
My partner (F30) and I (NB33) are in Charlotte this week and looking for things to get into! Not super into clubbing, but looking for a more low-key and friendly vibe. Somewhere it's easy to strike up a conversation with strangers and sit back and vibe for a while. Most interested in spots that are walking distance to other things (shops, food, music), but understand that we may need to drive to hit up places of interest. Really open to a wide range of suggestions, as long as the environment is fun, friendly, and accepting. tyia
I (30m) am throwing a surprise 5th anniversary party for my fiancee (32m) at Crown Station Pub in the Noda area of Charlotte. I had a lot of family and friends cancel at the last minute. If any of you would like to come party with us I have 60 Papa John's pizzas and a dj! Swing through and slay with us!
Every Wednesday at 7! Drag performances and 4 rounds of bingo!
Anyone have a suggestion?
