I have a friend (literally a friend because I live in Pennsylvania and don't know South Carolina at all) who is going through a rough time and lives in Conway South carolina. This person identifies as non-binary and I am looking for resources within the lgbtq community and also just accepting open groups that can help provide moral support for the individual. Please contact me if you have any suggestions. This person is 22 and in college part-time. Thank you to anyone who reads this.
Hey There ,
Family & I are looking to moving to SC by March. We are on the hunt for a parcel of land we can put 2-3 single / double wides on for a family parcel.
My questions involve the area its self & the school district. We have a 3 year old & 10 year old so schooling is a big one for us. We are in CT & are aware the difference in public schooling.
We looked at a perfect property in Hamer that already had 3 units on it but with more research we found that hamer is the heart of the “ corridor of shame” so I guess how bad is it really school and crime wise?
Technically the property we are looking at is in Lake View.
We would LOVE to be in Horry County but finding land there at a reasonable price has been very hard. We like the idea of being like an hour max from the beaches , We like the country as well. So any ideas or recommendations please let me know. Also I guess bonus question, if between the two dillon county & Florence county what would be a better area for schooling and safer with crime?
I have cancer and deal with a lot of pain and nausea. Lately I have a lot of people telling me that I should smoke weed. Is that even legal in SC? I've never smoked weed in my life and wouldn't even know where to begin if it were legal.
This license plate was obtained in 2014, so not the oldest one. However, I see this occur on these era of license plates. The image should capture it well, but it's like black cracks all over it. Also I know this license plate is literally at EOL, but it was involved in a rear end accident, so that's why it's bent.
We're working on a project wanted to find people to contact/locations to refer to.
Hey. Does everyone here know that DHEC has deemed lice as a non-urgent issue in schools, and that as long as live adult lice aren’t observed, the kids can remain in school? Ie, nits/egg sacks are acceptable per DHEC standard. This is a recent development, but really seems ridiculous. DHEC states that each school is entitled to determine whether or not they will adhere to the standard, but the York county schools around us are following DHEC recommendations verbatim.

Headed to Greenville area in two weeks and we're having family photos taken. Looking to capture SC's beauty with oaks, palms and magnolias to memorialize our trip there. I know it's typically high country vegetation and mountains but wasn't sure if there was a spot near Greenville that lends itself to this
...are the most rewarding gifts following any South Carolina electoral season. Enjoy the quiet.
I love my state and living in the Lowcountry EXCEPT for the almost perpetual heat. I want cool weather, to feel like there are actual seasons, and to be excited and invigorated for the holidays instead of: sweating during Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and potentially New Years. God please bless us with fall/winter weather. - Sincerely, South Carolina native.
I'm going to South Carolina for the first time in a couple weeks, specifically Greenville. I'm going with my parents to see if we want to move there (they've already been a couple times and want to take me with them this time). As a first timer I would love to know what are the best things to do in your city, the pictures look nice! I also would love to know what the best BBQ spot is in town because I know SC is one of the top BBQ destinations.
Thanks in advance!
Hey y'all!
I'm a photographer in Charleston working on a project aimed at highlighting the fishing community across the SC Coast. I'm looking for young folks that may just be starting out, night fishing spots, generational bait shops or seafood markets. I'm looking for the more out-of-the-way or unusual spots used by real ass people.
I'm not trying to expose y'all's secret spots! Exact locations will be kept secret, this project is focused on the community and traditions around fishing. Any tips or insights are appreciated and you can DM me or send to fishinginsc24@gmail.com
Thanks
Hi Palmetto State Folks,
One of our food vendors canceled on us last minute and we hope you can help us out.
We are hosting the CANCON Fully-Suppressed Range Day event (canconevent.com) in Clinton this weekend on Friday and Saturday. We expect approximately 2000 attendees per day. We had 2 food vendors scheduled to come sell food to our patrons, but one of them cancelled on us late this afternoon.
Do any of you know of or operate a food service that would be interested in coming out to prepare and sell food & drinks to our audience? This event takes place at the Clinton House Shooting Complex from 9AM to 4PM on both Friday November 8th, and Saturday November 9th. All inquiries are welcome. This is an outdoor event, so you should be prepared to operate in this weekend's weather (looks like it should be nice).
Please let us know if you are interested in participating. There is no cost to provide food, but you must clear your service with us ahead of time.
Thanks,
Just wanted to know if anyone could fill me in on their experiences with them before I commit to anything. I'm looking to get a copper IUD, and I don't have health insurance. Is it actually free or is just the cost of whatever BC you're getting covered and you're still on the hook for office visit or something?
Mightve been the stupidest I've ever seen. We had to create an amendment to make it what-- MORE illegal for non citizens to vote? It was illegal enough?
Stupid posturing, that's what that is. (Correction-- looks like).
I've been voting since they finally took the law banning interracial marriage off the books in this state (Which was a lot more recent than you might think, thanks to federal law overriding state law).
*edited for clarification
Family will be doing some camping/hoking in early January to the northern state park Devils Fork. The kids have never seen snow before and I would like to take them to see/play in some snow.
As I understand it, Devils fork usually doesn't get snow, so my question is, where are some relatively close places I could drive to so they could experience some snow?
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Beautiful sceneries, good snow fall, and fun things to do/ places to check out would all be ideal.
Thanks guys!
$290 a month for car insurance on a 7 year old Toyota, I have good credit. What gives, why is SC so high. It was $255 in NC.
Arriving into Charleston soon and departing from Savannah a week after. Would like to do a road trip. I’m thinking Charleston to Great Smoky Mountains to Atlanta to Savannah. Any must see’s , suggestions, or other places to stop by? Also unsure how much was affected by the recent hurricane?
I lived in Conway for a couple years from 2009-2011, and I’m considering moving back to SC. I’m hoping for recommendations as to where to look for apartments for rent and for work. Currently, I’m living in Massachusetts working as a journeyman electrician. I’ve had enough of this state, the people here bother me way too much, and I’m looking into my options for getting back down south.
Too bad. I was hoping this South Carolina company had solved the mystery!
