The DLC Machine Age is very intriguing and I'm wondering if a monthly DLC pass would be worth it. However I've yet to play Blood Alone, and its mechanics also have my eye. Do you think I would get a better use of 20-40 hours with Stellaris reinstalled +DLC pass? or is HOI4 +DLC pass better deal for that time frame and price?
Has someone successfully run Victoria 3 on Snapdragon X elite? I'm getting this error
I just want to take Sakhalin and Kuril for a perfect map.
Lately, I have been playing a bit of darkest hour, and although I enjoy the game, the fact that I can exploit the trade mechanism ruins the fun. I could just not use "gamey" features, but I want to be able to play at my best without being able to use it at my advantage.
So, how the trade is rigged in hoi2, is that a player can trade all their blueprints for money and supplies. Whenever I invent a new technology, I slow down the speed and go through all the countries and sell my blueprint to each country. It takes some time to go through every 100~ countries, but basically I end up making over 1000 € for each technology I discover.
Also, I can exploit the fact that countries give different value to different resources. I can easily make as many resources as I like by just trading undervalued resources to overvalued resources between the countries.
All this trading takes a lot of time so my darkest hour experience is basically to click on "open negotiations" Windows for hours and hours.
Can anybody help?
I'm a casual player who enjoys some light RP, and I joined one Mega campaign, which is on an indefinite hiatus. My understanding of what a "Grand Campaign" is is limited to what I've seen and heard from the various legends and stories of people who have been in it. For example, you start in Crusader Kings 3, then go on to Europa, and then Vic all trying to use the same nation. I apologize if this is against any rules, this is the first place I thought to go to.
Edit i meant Mega camapign
Understand me, I know how to put it in diplomatic_actions but I am referring to the point that this nation has -34 for development, -22 for opinion.
I'm making a mod of the rise of the Third Rome between events, decisions etc.... And I find myself with this impediment.
I would appreciate help.
I've only ever played HOI4, but I'd like to play other paradox games. I like the economy aspect of Victoria, but I'd also like the space aspect of Stellaris. I've never played either.
Edit: Thanks for everyone's answers! I think I'll give Stellaris a try for now, but I'll definitely come around to play Vic3.
Hello everyone! I'm going to build a PC and I intend to run vic3 and ck3 (both heavily modded) as best as possible until the late game. I also intend to run not-Eu5, Cities Skyline 2 and CIV7 in the future.
P.S.: I'm going to use the GPU and SSD from my old PC to save a little. I read here that the GPU is less important in PDX games than the CPU, but I'm willing to invest a little more if you recommend changing it.
My computer did an autorestart about a week ago and I have not been able to get ANY paradox title I own to open without opening the specific exe from the steam folder.
I have un and reinstalled all titles, deleted every paradox file on the computer, hard restart the computer, and even reinstalled steam. They still will not open the launchers for me to play the games with mods. I can still "technically" play the base game from the steam folder, but they all crash at the first autosave.
This does not happen with other steam titles. Only paradox titles. The launcher doesn't load, and then the app closes as if it's ready to play again.
Any additional advice for this would be super helpful. Thank you.
For the past few days Paradox MP has been tweaking. It doesn’t let my fiend hound my EU4 games and it doesn’t let me join his CK2 tried since it keeps saying “Game not found”. We’ve done no mods, different internet and different accounts has anyone encountered something like this, if you have how did you fix it? Thank you in advance
I have over 1000 hours on eu4 and now it's just plain boring for the most part and hoi4 suddently stopped starting up so i had the idea to check out for some good old gems of paradox. For now the only somewhat old title i've played is vicky2 but are there any other good ones?
Excluding Crusader Kings as its mainly about this.
Have you ever used the game's espionage system to its full effect? I remember in HoI4 before the La Resistance update you could turn any country to your ideology if you started in 1936. Facist USA made playing Germany quite easy.
In EU4 I have sometimes supported rebels so they are allied if they get independence, but nothing else. In Stellaris I have never touched espionage at all.
Am I missing out on anything huge here?
So i made my paradox account today and i want to use paradox launcher cuz i cant use steam on this computer i already have eu4 and hoi4 i synced my account but the games wont show in the launcher
I’m finally on hoi4 now. The debacle with eu4 being hard and stellaris being super easy made me scared to try other paradox games.
To me, it must be HOI3.
Edit: Thank you all for your suggestions! I must recommend Katyusha from HOI4 and The Hymn for all those lost at sea from Hoi3, as well as Nuria from CK2. Other then that there is a Nemesis song from Stellaris, Siege from EU4.
Those are my recommendations for all of you! Cheers!
I tried converting but i got alot of errors and hoi 4 doesn't even get to the menu before crashing and telling me to check my mods. I've only ever used the vic 3 to hoi 4 converter once before quite a long time ago, so I don't really know anything about this. If anyone knows what the problem may be or if you need more info i'd be thankful for the help. goodnight,
I like the division designer, and making tanks, ships and airplane templates, but I find the rest of the game to be kinda bad. Too microing, diplomacy is terrible, industry is interesting but too simplistic and I really dislike the national focus system. Does anyone know a mod that fix the above or a game that has a logistics system similar or better than hoi4? I like vic2 but it doesnt have a logistics side or division designing.
Alternatively can you like start it and then chuck the laptop to sleep mode with the game running
