Basically title. I want a mostly flat map with amazing backdrop. For reference, sunshine peninsula is my favorite map.
That's really all. I want to have a downtown skyscraper or two for my city of 25,000 people, not some massive skyline where all of the buildings have 40 employees each. Factories should be employing hundreds of people and industrial land shouldn't be nearly the size of my entire residential area.
This was easy to do with mods in C:S1. I forgot the exact mod but you basically just click a little icon and edit how many workers from each education level and how many households. I would play C:S2 to the death if I could get that back.
Hi All,
I am on the latest version of CSII on Steam (1.20). My city is decently old at this point, probably a year and I have around 120,000 people. I have had the following cargo set-up for a while
Cargo harbor with rail terminal
Airport with rail terminal
A cargo rail depot
Rail tracks throughout the region connecting to four external connections.
I have the following cargo routes:
cargo harbor to 2 sea connections, 1 boat, only one line for both connections.
airport independently to all air external connections, 1 airplane each
a 1 train loop that goes from airport to cargo harbor to the rail depot. i am unsure if the game is even capable of moving cargo around within the city.
the cargo depot is connected to all four external connections by rail.
My passenger train depot seems to work to the external connections, although it is only used by few. that's a different issue, but at least seems to indicate that the connections to the external connections are valid.
My problem is that I do not have any cargo being transported on any of my lines (airport, train, nor boat), and my city is starting to complain about high resource import costs. I clearly am not understanding the proper way to set up cargo infrastructure. I see the vehicles on their routes but the containers are always empty. I know that in previous game updates they have fixed numerous bugs with cargo infrastructure that required replacing the buildings, so I have done that with all the buildings on this current patch.
Does anyone have any advice on how to connect my cargo infrastructure to the external connections to facilitate importing and exporting?
I am trying to build a wind farm.
I have loaded a bit of cs2 and I enjoyed it. I am using a Mac so I was limited to playing it on geforce now.
I'm going away for my Christmas holidays and I won't have the internet so I won't be able to play cs2.
Cs1 works perfectly on mac however so I was thinking to download load it and give it a try.
I guess my questios are. is it worth it? Is it a good game? Will I notice many differences hetween cs1 and cs2 Is it visually appealing still? Does it feel like a old and outdated game?
Thanks in advance!
I keep overdoing the assets I'm getting from the workshop and the game just crashes out. I also run into missing assets that are not possible to add-in because they are no longer on Steam.
I would love to just have some basic assets that are worth it. Mostly good network interchanges and additional network styles, some stuff to make a neat downtown area with an older feel, different styles of clinics/hospitals/fire and police stations (since not every town has carbon copies of the same irl assets), unique businesses that aren't real, different styles for the zoned areas (like additional residential and commercial options), and some cool monuments/statues/parks. I don't know if what I'm saying makes any sense (I'm still really new at the game and haven't picked up the jargon quite yet).
So who are your favorite or go-to creators out there? Also, why do I get a lot of invalid LOD and very large LOD warnings in the LSM logs? What can I do, if anything, about it?
PO my beloved 🙏🙏🙏
Like, a Healthcare DLC that adds modular hospitals, graveyards, retirement villages would've been awesome.
Or a police-related DLC that adds better police stations, large prison complexes, guards maybe.
One of these would've been awesome for Cities Skylines 1, but I guess it's too late now.
Current locations with wind direction
The wind blows out of the ocean from the river delta and into these beautiful hills. I don't want my cims waking up in the morning, looking towards the mountains, and seeing a massive dump and black smoke. Where do I put it? how do I hide it?
I know this is a very specific question, but I love micro-managing transit in this game. I've seen on highways there are cims from outside cities heading to another outside city, and trains that are going from one outside connection to another.
My question is: will cims that commute like this do so through PT transfers within your city?
For example: Would a cim from city A take a train, arrive in my city, and transfer to the nearby harbor in order to get to city B. Another would be if a cim will transfer at a train hub to another outbound train to get from city A to city B if there was no direct throughline. Or is that behavior only present with directly connected outside connections?
Since the recent update Cities won’t open. I click on it, and it will open a new window but stay on a black screen indefinitely. I have tried disabling the launcher in steam settings, disabling mods through Skyve and restarting my computer. Still this problem persists. Any one else having a similar problem?
