So I was building a flagship and this was the first name the game suggested for it.
Just today it’s started doing this where after I hit play on the launcher a tab with no icon appears down the bottom for eu4 and after that nothing. I can’t alt-tab out, the screen is basically frozen this way and the only way to get out is to open task manager and close the program. It was working absolutely fine yesterday so I have no idea what’s wrong with it now, I’ve verified the files and nothings wrong there, I haven’t changed the mods I’m using so everything should be working but for some reason it’s not. Can anyone help me with this? I want to get back to my pirate republic of Japan, Korea had just declared war on me when I quit out yesterday and I was looking forward to the shakeup the war would cause.
For me, it's Scotland. It lasted for quite a while in real life but it has very little content aside from the first few years. I think we should've gotten at least a Scottish lead Great Britain, instead of defaulting to London as it does in game.
Gotta keep up that grandstrategyset and just push through the last 2/3rds.
After grinding since 1.37 dropped I managed to get all of the achievements. Made me wonder how fast this could actually be done. I think if you had the same game knowledge of florryworry, fast PC and if you planned runs better with no backtracking beacause of new achievements (plus backuping the save files for doing branching achievements) this would be achieved in less then 750 hours, maybe less. What do you guys think?
PS. Also if you have any questions about my runs feel free to ask.
Hello, I'm trying to help my friend learn the game. We're playing a multiplayer game, and it's currently 1560 and I'm completely up to date in tech, have finished three idea groups and am waiting for admin tech 14 so I can start another one. My friend who borders me gets institutions 10-15 years sooner than me because of his geoghraphy and our size difference. My friend is 2-3 techs behind in every category compared to the rest of Europe and has taken only THREE ideas in total from his idea groups whereas I have finished three whole groups. I'm a republic and he's a monarchy, and thanks to good RNG he hasn't had a single bad ruler. No matter how hard of a look I take at his nation I cannot figure out where his monarch power is going and why he is behind in tech. He doesn't waste monarch power (mp) in events, doesn't do any government mechanics that waste mp like increasing stability or harsh treatmenting rebels or develop his provinces or anything like that. Basically he isn't doing anything with his MP besides spending it on tech and ideas. For the past 50 years I have been giving him 15 ducats in subsidies every month just so he can afford advisors and he's still falling behind in tech compared to the rest of Europe. I have tried asking where it's going but to no avail since he just says he doesn't waste it. We're also playing on easy. Can the people of Reddit help me figure this out?
I’m playing the Ottomans in 1652 and I lose every battle unless I have overwhelming numerical advantage. My tactics, discipline and morale are always inferior to the enemy, even if it’s an absolute basket case like Transoxania or Fars. Why is this? I have high prestige and power projection and decent generals. I’ve taken quality ideas and am on the latest tech.
My tactics are 2.3, morale is 4.91 and discipline is at 105%
EDIT: thanks for showing me how combat works and how I could see decadence, I had to write off the campaign as starting wars only worsened the situation as I kept losing battles with my Padishah as general even against really small factions with less men.

Just combined my lists, someone who knows how to edit the wiki should plug it all in. I really just wanted a place I could keep the bulk-information together.
I started an Aztec run and it's 1490~. I passed 2 reforms and doing well in terms of doom, but I don't get how am I supposed to keep low doom and expand..
Should I have just abandoned the original aztec religion?
Trying to ballpark this as occasion decisions come up, such as a -10% tax rate for a limited time, or to build a GP to get a increased tax rate...
How does the adjustment affect what's on the Economy Tab?
I have a 22% tax that generates 30 ducats of income per month. If I had a 10% change in the rate, how much is it expected to affect the income? I would think 3, but am unsure.
