So I just started playing CK3 a few months ago and already have like 300 hours logged. It's my first Paradox game and I absolutely love it and plan to keep playing it, but I'd like to try other Paradox titles too. I picked up Stellaris and Victoria 3 since they're on sale and already have EU4 and HOI4 in my library but never touched them (probably picked them up in a sale a long time ago). Imperator: Rome and Cities Skylines II are on my wish list but I'll wait until a sale to pick them up.

So I guess between EU4, Stellaris, Victoria 3, and HOI4, which would you suggest for someone coming from CK3? I only wanna pay for one subscription pass at a time.

Since last night when I try to play Crusader Kings 3, I was not able to go past the interface in the library. I press play, then everything seems normal, but after the blue "LAUNCHING" and "CANCEL ?" appear, it immediately goes back to the PLAY button again.

I tried clean-uninstalling the launcher twice, then when it didn’t work I tried to do the same with the game itself, that didn’t work either. I verified the integrity of the game files and it says there’s nothing wrong’

I can open and play the game by using the launcher by itself (so not through Steam at all), but my DLC’s are not recognized and I can only play vanilla.

Is there anything I can do ? I really don’t want to delete Steam since I have like ten games that I’ll have to reinstall and my wi-fi isn’t that good, but is that the only option ? Are there potential files that may be causing this ?

mods downloaded from paradox plaza are stuck and stay like that for hours.

i downloaded End of a new beginning and Millennium Dawn from paradox plaza and it’s stuck. it won’t load, it’s stuck at 75.35% and 83.95%

i don’t think they will complete

Im getting my New pc tomorrow and want to know how well it can run most Paradox Games these are the specs

no GPU,ryzen 5 5600g,16gb(2x8 dual channeling)ram,IGPU vega 7 2gb VRAM

would i atleast be able to run it on the lower graphics?

So just encountered a bug where my heir was promised to marry someone in a grand wedding, however she was murdered before the wedding started. Now I noticed this bug because I’m trying to marry my heir off but there is no option for arrange marriage or find spouse for him, nothing at all, and if I try to do the other way around through the desired spouse there is no confirmation button. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyway to fix it without going all the way back? Is there at least a console command that I can marry the two with?

I had already selected my Mix_support brigade choices. A bit later I realized my mistake and somehow chose heavy artillery which reduced the speed considerably. I’m trying to tweak the save file to undo that choice.

I’ve changed all the mix_ pick=no and zeroed out the mixed_support values but when I got back in to make the choices they are still labeled as Double so I can’t redo my choices.

Anybody ever tweak or know how to correct this mistake?

EU4 is shamelessly not historical at all (which is honestly shocking but besides the point)

Would you say CK3 does a better job reflecting army size and composition of the time? Or is it just pure "entertainment' value like EU4?

I have tried ck2 (cuz its free) but was way to fucking hard. I have also tried hoi4 when it was free for like 2 days like 3 ish years ago.

I have many cities in new game but only few have a market. They only have guild halls. Are they the same? If not, then how to build a market there too? why are some cities different in building type? Lastly, does vassals opinion of me affect their taxes by a lot?

Hey, everyone, I wanna tell you very sad story, how I missed my only shot to make all the time spend with these great games count irl. Storytime.

I have played EU4 for about 2,3k hours, HOI4 0,4k hours, CK3 0,3k hours, IR 0,1k hours and I also spent some time in original 2008 Mount and Blade. So around 3k hours of preparation for my showtime.

Yesterday I went with friends for a pub quizz and there was a question, that sounded like this:

Which swedish studio is behind titles such as Europa universalis 4, Crusader kings 3 and Hearts of Iron 4?

And I wrote: Paradox games.

After spending over 3k with these games I managed to get the answer wrong. Such a shame, now I understand what Eminem ment in his text:

One could call the whole situation a paradox. How ironic.

Is the steam cloud and syncing playsets acting up for anyone else? My steam cloud couldn’t sync my files for a minute and now my CK3 and hoi4 won’t go past a sliver of doing the syncing my playsets (for ck3) (or not finish showing the spinning wheel thing for hoi4). It worked just fine an hour ago and I’m just wondering if there’s an issue anyone else knows about that’s happening now. I’d appreciate any help figuring this out, and sorry for the possibly confusing wording.

so I'm most likely going to get Vicky 3, i got into paradox from city skylines (i like the modding system in the new CS to) and also have hoi4 and a few other games that have some sort of paradox association i want to get more war/econ type games from paradox, any recommendations

a bit of context so that you understand from where my thoughts are derived

i am a huge fan of heroes of might and magic, i started playing from 5 , i didnt play the previous versions because am not a fan of pixelated art .

the thing that drawn me into heroes of might and magic was art style, campaign and character progression from one campaign to the next , i played that game for months

i came to age of wonders 4 expecting to get similar experience because as i really like the art style but oh boy , i was disappointed.

1- there is no campaign ... seriously !!! how would i care about the units in this game, their weight meaning how strong every tier is, and how unique they are , what makes them different , what are they good against

2-map is so small, and so crowded with other bases who are near your base, i literally got destroyed after 5 min by a medium AI who destroyed my entire army with his phoenix and big AOE thunder spell

3-heroes? they are just another character with no unique art style or something interesting about them

4- this game feels has no soul , factions mean nothing they are simple art style at this point, have no weight nothing to get me addicted to them.or care about them or chose one faction over another beside their art look

i am not bashing the game, its a beautiful game with a lot of passion behind it, its just it doesnt show it, it doesnt make me addicted to the game , care about the story, enjoy every unit , feel a sense of accomplishment when i unlock stronger units ... this game couldnt have been a big hit if they had a good progressive campaign.. its a shame i really wanted to spend months playing this game, now i dont know if it gets better if you invest more time into it

what have been your experience with this game ?and do you think it needs a good campaign story like heroes of might and magic did ?

The DLC Machine Age is very intriguing and I'm wondering if a monthly DLC pass would be worth it. However I've yet to play Blood Alone, and its mechanics also have my eye. Do you think I would get a better use of 20-40 hours with Stellaris reinstalled +DLC pass? or is HOI4 +DLC pass better deal for that time frame and price?
