Every time i try to convert the save game over i get hit with 19 variations of this error.
"2024-11-22 23:46:13 [WARNING] Significant province x106000 (farm) does not correspond to a province in state region STATE_PICARDY."
The state region and the building changes between all the errors but they're roughly the same. Any idea what's causing this? All help is appreciated
Just as the title says im really interested in that time period and id like to play through it in a GSG format if possible.
I need some help with the converter from Vic 2 to HOI3 listed in this link: https://github.com/ParadoxGameConverters/Vic2ToHoI3
I tried to get it to work on my own and ended up on a rabbit hole of coding, MSBuild, and other stuff. I have no experience so if someone more enlightened could help me work this thing out and give me some pointers on how to make it work, I would be indebted!
Why is it so? Is it worth to try out the free weekend?
RICE adds a whole bunch of religions and cultures and I was wondering if that could mess up the converter somehow
Howdy folks, some of you may have seen my previous post about going through a tonne of the artwork from Paradox games and re-upscaling and fine tuning for 4K desktop wallpapers. I have just added some new additions for Imperetor Rome straight from the digital art book itself (with some upscaling and fine tuning to make them pop a bit).
Wallpapers in various sizes in 16:9 format at 2K resolution .JPG and above, these were a little trickier to get right as I had to import everything manually from the art book itself.
You can access my public Google Drive folder here. These new wallpapers are in the folder.
As always, enjoy! Please let me know if this is against subreddit or Paradox rules, just thought I'd share the love for the amazing artwork with the community.
Hopped back into Darkest Hour this week and have been working out my Soviet strategy. This is my third attempt after figuring out the proper factory buildup, navigating the purges, and getting enough troops up to stop the German steamroller.
HOWEVER...
It is now October 1938 and I've been waiting for the great purge to fire... except I just noticed Stalin is completely MIA.
Is there some event that removes him? I don't recall seeing anything pop.
And is it worth completing this playthrough or is the lack of Stalin going to mean I miss a bunch of future events?

Update 1: May 1941, Stalin remains missing. Germany just invaded. Nature is healing.
Update 2: The State Defense Committee event fired, industry is being moved East, and Stalin has been restored as Head of Government. Mikhail Khanin remains Head of State.
Don’t own Victoria 2 or 3 but enjoying an eu4 save a lot currently and would like to take it straight to hoi4. Does anyone know if there’s a way of doing this? Even if I have to just sim 100 years or so before I can actually do anything would be great!
I was wondering which fall of Rome/ early dark ages mod across all paradox games does the period the most justice? I have enjoyed the ck2 one, however I was wondering if any mods on newer games have also done a good job?
I just want to give kudos where it's due. I hate the subscription model with a purple passion, but in the most recent DLC for CK3 and HoI4 I really think they've done a fantastic job.
I haven't purchased a full-price DLC in years, but I saw a Let's Play of the newest CK3 and bought it full price day of release and I've had a blast since.
Yesterday, after watching a few HoI4 LPs I picked up the game for the first time in six months and it's enjoyable even without the newest DLC. I may end up paying full price for it as well. (I want me some helicopters, not gonna lie.) The AI seems more competent as well, which is nice.
Kudos, PDX. A rare win for your subscription model.
I only play paradox games (EU4, HOI4, CK3, VIC3) looking to buy a new laptop for playing these games when I travel. What kind of processor/processor specs should I gravitate to for best performance ...? How important is thread count?
A common complaint about Paradox games is that they have a steep learning curve, usually requiring an hour or two of YouTube learning before the game can be played effectively. However, the unique appeal of paradox games is precisely their depth and complexity, so getting rid of this for the sake of welcoming beginners would be counterproductive. However, what if Paradox were to train an LLM instance using the game wiki (or some more official internal wiki), so that players could ask an in-game AI assistant questions in plain English (e.g. "how do I rally my troops", "how does ____ resource work") and get an authoritative answer. I feel like this would be helpful both for noobs and for returning players who are coming back after a long hiatus (I had this experience coming back to hoi4 after two years or so of absence). What do other people think? I feel like this would be relatively easy to set up from a coding standpoint and could significantly broaden game reach and player retention without compromising the core tenets of a game.
For Xbox CK3, is there a Way to play without paying $20/month for online?
Anyone interested in playing modded stellaris with me. I'm CST timezone but I'm pretty much available whenever since I'm homeschooled. Would love to find some people to play with.
Tl;DR: paradox launcher will not work. It consistently crashes.
Hey there! I am wondering if anyone has ran into any similar problems and if there exists a solution. I got CK3 on the sale this past week and I have been trying to run it on my lap top that runs windows 11. When I download the game from steam and try to run it, paradox launcher will automatically start to download, and then crash during the installation with a "critical failure" error
When I delete the game files, and steam, then go to down load the paradox launcher it actually works no problem. Then I go to Steam, down load that as well as the game files, it will boot up to the start menu. I press play and it gives another error.
I do want to use mods, but i haven't subscribed to any of them yet, as I know those can cause problems on the first pass through. Any help is appreciated!
Hello all, wanted to share my feelings with you on how the AI perceives the player. In CK2 even if you were of different faith and culture if you were a big kingdom knocking on your neighbouring duke that somehow decided to get independence from his liege it was pretty straightforward he is close to accepting as his strength is 900 and yours 9000 you send a gift he accepts, maybe you have to sway him a while ok sure but in CK2 small dukes and counts are suicidally ignorant of their position
I play a Greco Roman Italian cause I wanted to do a Rome fanboy thing, all goes semi well, as well as one can go being a heathen in Italy but eventually after almost 100 years I have all of Italy and pope is gone my kingdom has 10k+ soldiers. Time to take on the Byzantines for the prestigious title etc. on I go. Somehow without realising the catholics pull a fourth crusade in 1040 and break the empire. I was happy instead of pain stacking duchy by duchy, pause to find landless courtiers to inherit repeat I can start demanding vassalizations from the 40 dukes that just appeared.
Character 18 diplomacy, diplomacy focus, decent traits, just, diligent. Coffers full. Due to fun raid time while a vassal. I begin with the one next to me Nope (minus 270) what? This is absurd ! I look through the negatives and its culture and the faith. That was never a problem before, the game was at least able to calculate that 10k vs 400 not good now they just say no. I learned Greek, send them gifts (have thoughtful) swayed them out of curiosity . Still absurdly far from even single digit negative. So here I go holy warring duchy by duchy. Wth ? Is there something I am missing or did they made stuff like that impossible From a historical/ political standpoint no tiny duke would do that nor from an rpg perspective. Every AI check screams accept. It’s so annoying
Thank you for coming to my ted talk
It seems like the developers are more focused on the rpg side of the game. Do you think we will see improvements on the game systems like trade and economics in the future?
New players here. I just had my 1st game as Castile. Things were fine at the beginning. Inherited Portugal and took down Aragon. But things went downhill once I did not honor the Call of Arm from France. Relationship went bad and France became my rival. Once the war broke out, I was just curbstomped by France. Morocco and even Persia declared war on me sometime later and I just decided to quit the game.
Is it more recommended to bow down to France and focus more on the colonization ?
