7 eleven stealing card information

Do not use your debit/credit cards at the 7 eleven or the atm on 52 and Frederick Way in Frederick CO. They steal your information and use it or sell it. My card was fraudulently used a few months ago at gas station atm in Aurora (I had only used this specific card at this 7 eleven) Then today my fiances card was fraudulently used, they took all his money out also at an atm in Aurora. We both have our physical cards, and they were able to get our card number and pin. It has been confirmed by an employee that this has happened to other people in the last few months and stated it's the atm. A police report has been filed. This needs to stop!

Calling all Denver area Amazon workers; join Amazonians United today

There is a national movement afoot to unionize Amazon and fight for higher wages and better benefits for its millions of workers. And that includes the hundreds of thousands who drive for Amazon’s puppet DSP companies.

The Denver chapter has just been founded by some of your coworkers. The short term goal is to bring together a community of workers who believe a better Amazon is not only possible, but necessary. The second largest employer in the richest country on the planet should be the bedrock of a thriving middle class; not a monopoly forcing millions into a tenuous life of unstable gig work.

If you are interested in joining up, or just curious what this movement is all about, hit my DMs or use the links in the profile to get signed up. Together we win.

Blood curdling screams at night

So, this has happened twice now. Last night again around 3am I hear just the most terrifying screaming for an hour straight. No words or articulation of any clear distinction. Wondering if anyone else hears stuff like this. The only thing I could think of other than someone having a really bad night is that there is a large cat that’s made its way into town, because it sounds just like that of what I’ve heard.

Dog Found in 80010

Not sure where else to post this, I’m very new to Colorado still but this area specifically. I was walking my dogs and this sweetheart ran up to us and really spooked my pups. I walked her up and down a couple neighborhoods and nobody is claiming her or has even seen her. Unfortunately I can’t keep her, especially if she is pregnant. I’m not sure how the shelters are here but I know there’s basically a nationwide crisis with overcrowding and everything. I don’t want to just throw her somewhere. She is very friendly and well-mannered so she has to be somebody’s dog. Unsure if I’m not an expert but her tummy also feels like she may possibly be pregnant? I’m hoping she escaped and nobody just dropped her off. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated !! I’m going to keep her a couple more days to keep asking around but I have no clue what to do with her after. I just want this baby to get the love and care she needs!

Winters?

Edit: Thank you so much to everyone who responded!! It definitely calmed my nerves a lot about going there, and I think I picked the perfect place to spend the next few months! I appreciate everyone who commented 🫶

I’m moving to Aurora CO for a couple months for work, Oct-Dec. Google says winters aren’t as bad as where I’m at now but didn’t get too specific. I was hoping to get some insight from locals. How bad are those months? If it snows a lot, are the streets usually plowed well? Does it get icy? Thanks in advance

Place to see the changing leaves

Hey everyone! My girlfriend and I will be visiting from Albuquerque, NM this coming weekend and have seen a lot of changing leaves in CO on social media. Does anybody know of a nearby place where leaves look really pretty right now? We don’t really have much of a chance to see that sort of thing in NM. There is a… lack of trees in our humble desert state. Also maybe a good lunch or dinner place as well?

Thinking of moving to Aurora in the next couple years

Hello everyone,

My wife and I are both born and raised in Phoenix, but we have a young family, and love to be outside. Raising a family here in the heat, keeps us cooped up in the house for 8 months out of the year. We also want better education for our kids as well, and seeing how AZ recently dropped to dead last in the entire country for education, makes us second guess living here indefinitely. I identified Aurora as somewhere we might wanna move to because it is still close enough to AZ that flights are cheap enough to go visit family, CO is ranked 4th in the nation for education, cost of living isn’t much more than where we currently live, close enough to Denver that we can easily go there for events and whatnot. I still have a few questions though, and was hoping you could help me out.

  1. Are there paved bike trails in Aurora? My wife and I love road cycling, but don’t like road cycling on the road with cars. The good thing about Phoenix is we have a huge canal system that we can bike along for 50+ miles. Does Aurora have something similar?

  2. How far is aurora from mountain bike trails? We also love mountain biking, and we have tons of trails here in Phoenix, many less than 20 minutes from our house.

  3. How far is Aurora from ski resorts? We love snowboarding too, and Flagstaff is just 2 hours away from us right now. anything less than that would be amazing.

  4. I’ll admit I don’t know much about the Venezuelan/biker gang stuff, but I saw it pop up the other day, and it made my wife second guess Aurora. How big of an issue is it really? Are there other crime issues that has affected you? I understand Aurora is quite large and there are areas that are nicer, and areas that aren’t as nice.

  5. What is the winter like? We have lived in Phoenix our whole life, so we haven’t had to deal with snow outside of the occasional trip up north to snowboard and play in the snow. Is the winter 4 months of just snow everyday?

Any input is really appreciated, thank you!

I'm not pulling an Ed Gain I swear, but I'm looking for skin... Chicken skin

... And if you're still here after that cringe of a title, I apologize and thank you. Onwards to the post:

Everyone had really great suggestions for my mud bugs post a while back, so I'm back once again, but this time to humbly ask if anyone knows where I can find some chicken skin? I don't want the meat, just the skin. I want to fry up some chicken skins, make different seasoning blends to toss them in, and do sort of a chicken skin flight situation. And before you ask, yes I did take a trip to the dispensary before making this post.

And if you're still here after the cringe of this post, again I thank you, and I also apologize... Again. Have a great day, y'all!

Property Management Company Recommended

Hi Reddit,

Has anyone had any experience with a property management company that you would recommend? We have a home that we are not ready to sell but willing to rent out.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Water Heater Replacement and Furnace / AC quote or replacement

Hey Everyone, I tried searching for the water heater side and got very little. We just purchased a new house built in 2005. Had AAA come look at it and they said the water heater needs replaced. Quoted us almost $6000 to replace it with a PSI stabilizer. That seemed way to high on my end.

AAA also went to do a tune up on our furnace and A/C as well. They said it was original with the house and both needed replaced. Quoted $20K to do both. I definitely want a second opinion to ensure this is accurate.

We did have a home inspection done prior to purchase and none of this was brought up on that report. This home is in the eastern part of Aurora, CO by 470 and some previously recommended don't show that as a service area.

Any recommendations for companies would be greatly appreciated.

Inspiration - American Legend Homes?

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this as the Inspiration community is about as far from central Aurora as you can get and still be in Aurora, but I'll start here. Does anyone have any experience with this community? Specifically, the Hilltop 55+ portion by American Legend Homes? Any feedback on them as a builder? I was out exploring new construction developments in the Denver area a week and a half ago (from PA) and came across this community. I liked the area, the floorplans, the sales agent, the details provided. But, it is the actual build quality that is most important and that is hard to judge just by seeing a model. Thanks.

H Mart Least Busy Times

As title suggests-- does anyone by chance know when H Mart tends to be least busy? Particularly on Tuesdays, if it makes a difference. Google isn't displaying a chart for busy times or I would have just checked that... Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're getting so much business all the time, but it's very hard to browse when it's extremely crowded. Thank you

Bitter cucumbers from King Soopers?

About two months ago, I bought three (regular) cucumbers, each a week apart, from King Soopers. They were the most bitter cucumbers I've ever had. Couldn't eat them raw at all and couldn't even get them to taste good in a pickling. Finally, they started selling palatable ones after about a month. Flash forward to now, today, got another one that is inedible. If you've ever tried bitter melon before, it's a lot like that. Anyone else? Not sure what's up with this, but I'm reluctant now to ever buy them from King Soopers.

Has anyone else’s Xcel bill gotten completely out of control?

Only 80 more kWh usage compared to same dates last year, but $70 more. My wife and I do our best to only use appliances during Off-Peak hours, but our bill keeps climbing!

21Sep - Colfax Breakfast Club - Special Citizen Edition

Time: Saturday, September 21, 11 am – 2 pm

Place: 10400 E. Colfax Ave (former Wal-Mart parking lot)

Colfax Breakfast Club is doing something a bit different. I've been invited to join a resource fair with 53 other vendors. There's a lot of outreach & programs available setting up tables. Attendance is likely to be at least 100.

I'm showing up with the best coffee. And I'm betting I'll learn the most from the attenders.

My mission is very simple: learn the skillsets of the people who are claiming resources. Maybe they know healthcare. Maybe they translate between 4 languages. I just want to know what they think they're good at.

For certain skillsets, I can make some introductions. I am optimistic about helping others grow their agency. And who knows where that can lead?

If you want to be part of this process, I'd love to see you come out. I'll have a few chairs to spare. Bring your own coffee mug.
