I’m a classical voice student and am trying to figure out how to squeeze in about 45 minutes of practice every day after skiing Vail. I am staying at a hostel in Minturn without a car, so I have no private space where I can sing without bothering everyone. I asked the hostel owner and she said the hostel doesn’t have anywhere I could do that. Does anyone know of a space — even just a closet — that I can stand in and do vocal exercises and that can be reached via public transportation and is either really inexpensive or free? Can you think of anywhere it might be good to call/email and ask? I’ll be flying out there in a couple weeks and am staying into April. Thanks in advance!
I work lifty at beaver creek and me and some co workers have been getting bullied by this asshole who works lift but doesn’t even ski. If there’s any other lifties at beaver who have potentially been bullied or harassed by this man please message me. We would like to file a group report with as many people as possible.
We’re in Vail thru Wednesday morning on vacation and then will be flying home. The rental we are staying in doesn’t want any groceries left in the unit when we leave, not even spices. I was wondering if there are any food banks in the area or even just a Buy Nothing group we could share them in? It’s a lot of partially used things (1lb of sugar missing 1/2 cup) that I’m not sure a food pantry will take, but it feels wasteful to throw it all in the trash.
If some posted in this community, wanting a surgeon recommendation for a teenage female ACL. Vail locals, first recommendation would be Sterett to repair a female ACL using a quad graft. As a Vail local, I had bad experiences with him (gets pushy/borderline creepy) when he gets nervous or not an expert on a subject. Great front desk, AT, PA, clinic eval and knowledge (rehab, protocol, insurance, surgery, etc.) Also, don't like him for his past legal issues involving HIPAA, it looks unprofessional as a MD. Insurance: My new and old insurance is accepted at Steadman. My old insurance is accepted at VSO.
For now, I am happy with Hackett and Viola at Steadman.
As Vail locals, Do you prefer Steadman or VSO? Do you have a go to orthopedic surgeon in the valley?
They say if you need an ACL revision, go to Robert LaPrade, MD, PhD at Twin Cities Orthopedics. He worked at Steadman from 2010-19.
First time in Vail this upcoming weekend. Looks like we’re in for a warm front through Thursday followed by some snow on Friday and chilly all weekend. Can anyone familiar with the terrain please advise on how the conditions will be? Will we be able to get some good skiing in or is it not looking good ? Thanks!
This is our game plan, any suggestions/critiques/side missions?
Ive stayed several times at the park hyatt residences but was planning to stay at the ritz this year. Is the Ritz within walking distance to anything? How hard is it to get to the restaurants, shops, etc.. from the ritz?
Not happening these days and things are even worse at Beaver Creek. During these times of low tide, when ungroomed areas are suboptimal at best and virtually unskiable at worst, hordes are being funneled onto limited terrain with dangerous and frightening results. I’m local so I got my program dialed but if I was paying the big $ to come here I’d by disappointed and pissed.
Is a Uber worth it. There's 2 of us. Will they all accommodate skis or is there a decently priced shuttle? Hotel doesn't offer an airport shuttle. I saw Epic charges about $60/person
I’m an upper intermediate/lower advanced level skier thinking about taking lessons at Vail and was curious about what the lessons look like there. I’ve only done lessons at Whistler and they typically take you all over the mountains there.
I’m hoping to focus primarily on moguls this trip and was wondering if we’d stay around lionshead or if there’s a potential to head over to areas like the back bowls during the lesson.
What happens if you’re cited for speeding while on skis (not like a traffic stop while operating a motor vehicle for clarity) and they scan your ski pass
I am renting a car one way from Denver Intl Airport and dropping it off at Eagle Regional Airport on February 8th. I will be leaving the Denver airport between 4-5PM. Let me know if anyone is interested in a ride.
Hey all! I’m snowboarding with some friends at Vail on Tuesday, Feb 4. It’ll be my second time (first time on Monday), and unfortunately, I didn’t get an epic pass because it was a last minute trip and I think this will be the only time I’ll actually get out there this year. wanted to know if anyone is planning on going to Vail on Tuesday and had an extra buddy pass they’d be willing to part with? I’ll totally owe you a drink.
Hey everyone!
I’m looking to put myself out there more and was wondering if there are any speed dating events happening in Eagle County. I’ve tried the usual dating apps, but I’d love to meet people in a more fun and interactive way.
Does anyone know of any upcoming speed dating events or places that might host them? Or even local bars or venues that might be open to hosting one?
Appreciate any recommendations!
Hello! I'm going to be visiting Vail from overseas for a week and I was just wondering if there is anything to do ski/snowboard-wise after 3:30pm as the lifts close so early and there is no night skiing. The golden peak terrain park seems fairly close to the bottom of the mountain, does anyone ever just hike up and down after the lifts close, if that's allowed? Or would you be allowed to build a small jump just at the bottom of the hill to use? Thank you!
I’m at a point where I can ski blacks really easily, but I’m still struggling to make the jump to double blacks I’m wondering if getting a private ski lesson all day is worth it and will actually help me enough to be worth the amount of money that it cost
New skier here, thinking about taking Pegasus to Vail.
Last time at Beaver Creek, I had to pay $20 for a locker, and I’m hoping to find a more affordable option for storing a small bag with shoes.
Any recommendations?
How did you like it? Also how was the lunch and what was it?
What are the best backcountry slopes in Vail? What are the best out of bounds area?
Land at 9:59pm and last shared shuttle is at 9:30pm. So cost goes from $59 to $450. Am I screwed or is Lyft/uber viable that late guessing price is around $100? Thank you
Flying out next week for the 1st in time in 20-something years and trying to decide which skis to bring. looks like things are probably pretty firm and will be getting worse with some freeze/thaw, happy to be wrong. Any point bringing the softer, lighter skis or am I safe to assume it'll be a heavier crud-busting ski type of trip?
hey folks...i'm coming into town sunday and will be skiing for a few days next week. since it doesn't appear there is going to be much deep snow, i would love to demo a Black Crows Mirus Cor.
does anybody know if there is a place locally where i could get my hands on a pair for the day?
Hey guys. Which are the best blue runs when temperature is above freezing like this weekend?
I had two friends cancel on me last minute, I have two tickets for the Friday show. Originally purchased for $420 selling for $340. Dm me !!
