Welcome to DenverWest! I thought I'd make this community for those of us who do not really go into Denver all that much, so we can have a forum of our own.

Does anyone know the Old Navy representative Alivia who works at the DenverWest/colfax location?

D&D Tabletop RPG in Broomfield!

I'm trying to run a fantasy RPG similar to D&D 5E in Broomfield. The RPG itself is DCC, and I'm looking for players. Is anyone in broomfield interested? We can meet, play at Total Escape, see how we are all feeling about the system.

Private message me or comment on this post if you're interested. Upvote so other potential players can see.

HEY! Come play croquet at the Botanical Gardens on July 8th!

Howdy! My buddy and I just signed up for some croquet shenanigans at the botanical gardens, and were told it's in danger of getting canceled due to lack of interest.

I figured I'd try and wrestle up some other lakewood folks to join us in a silly afternoon of croquet.

We're signed up for the July 8th day, but they've got a few options.

Generalized utilities cost for Arvada?

I don't know if this is the right place for my question but I am just trying to get some research done. I plan on moving to Arvada into my first apartment, and I am just trying to get a good idea of what utility costs are like over there, the general consumer.

If this is not the right place to ask, let me know and Ill take it down! thanks in advance!

Found pigeon

Hey, I just found a scared little white homing pigeon in my neighborhood today(I live in Lakewood). I'm putting up flyers and calling the Humane Society to see if they got any lost pigeon reports but I want to cover all bases and return it to its parents if possible. If you or anyone you know happens to have lost a pigeon in that area just PM me. Sorry if this isn't the right sub for this kind of thing. Thanks!

Moving from FL to CO, Lakewood

Can you guys give me pointers coming into Denver? Living expenses, environment, and people?

I work in the aviation industry so I can basically work remotely from home, anyhow my girlfriend is a server and wanted to ask if that side of the work field, is being active. I've been to CO, about 2 times in my life for the Bassnectar Red Rocks run 2014, and went with my girlfriend 2015. It was so freaking nice, let me tell you. Well, you guys probably see it daily :), anyhow coming from FL is basically just wanting to get out of here.

Additionally, wanted to ask about the buds, do they have dispensaries in Lakewood? Or would I have to go to Denver into the city?

If you guys have any suggestions or any opinions, please let me know so I can take into consideration. If it's not nice, don't respond.

If you want to participate in the March 1st Colorado caucus, you must register to vote as a member of the party you wish to caucus with by Monday (January 4th).

If you want to participate in the March 1st Colorado caucus, you must register to vote as a member of the party you wish to caucus with by Monday (January 4th). The deadline was formerly believed to be January 1st, but since state offices aren’t open on New Year’s Day, it’s been extended.

###Here’s how to make sure you are correctly registered

1) Check to see if you are registered to vote. If you are registered to vote, but not for the political party you want to caucus for, click the link to change party. If you are not registered to vote, go to step 2.

2) Register to vote. Follow the step-by-step instructions to register online.

Special note 1: You may not be able to use the above links between 11:30 PM on Thursday, December 31, and 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, January 1 due to “yearly maintenance.”

Special note 2: The Republican caucus will not include a presidential preference vote, so if you choose to caucus for them, it means you will be choosing unpledged delegates to the County Assemblies, which will choose delegates to the District and State conventions, which will decide who to support for the Republican presidential nominee. Any influence Republicans have over the eventual nominee will be at best indirect.

Disclaimer: I am associated with /r/sandersForPresident (Folks wishing to vote for Bernie Sanders will need to register as a Democrat.), but the information in this post applies to everybody.

Dog Parks

tldr: Opinions on local dog parks

I used to take my dogs to the Elk Meadow dog park in Evergreen, but one pup developed altitude sickness this summer and now can't go any higher in elevation.

I'm looking for a place to take my dogs off leash that has some shade, maybe a trail, and things to piddle on (grass, pine cones - not just dirt).

What are your favorite dog parks in the Denver West area and why?

Lost Cat in Lakewood area, Jewell and Garrison

Hello everybody, I recently lost my cat. I posted in the nearest shelter website a picture of her, I'm just not sure where to go or what to do from here. I've gone around my neighborhood and asked my neighbors. There's no Lakewood, Colorado subreddit, so that's why i'm posting here. So yeah, Lakewood area. Near Garrison and Jewell. She's gray, has a collar that has a bell. Anything will help, I just want to get my baby back.

Keep Cannabis Legal in Wheat Ridge!

A couple citizen groups in Wheat Ridge are pushing for moratorium extensions and even outright bans for new and existing medicinal and recreational dispensaries and grows within city limits. They have been very proactive in voicing their anti-marijuana opinions to the city council and I am looking to Reddit for some pro-cannabis support. For more information and to sign a petition please visit http://www.change.org/p/wheat-ridge-city-council-allow-marijuana-businesses-in-the-city-of-wheat-ridge-colorado-to-continue-operating-as-they-have-in-the-past?utm_source=guides&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=petition_lonely. Thanks!

Lawyer recommendations? (Real estate)

I've discovered a nasty surprise in my new home, which appears to be a violation of the terms we laid out to buy the place. My real estate agent has advised me to contact an attorney. I've never had need for one before; I'd appreciate any recommendations you folks might be able to offer. I'm in east Arvada, but I'm thinking my location won't have much bearing on who I choose.
