A Player is Back when you no longer have to say they are Back

Until then, you are just hoping they string together enough good games to be considered consistent. Then you stop thinking about it. That means they are back. And then we can lament when they have an off night or a bad game. But until then, they are not Back.

Nikola Jokic postgame on his late scoring run: "I was just aggressive probably, I took 2 threes, I was open I think." And on Jamal Murray: "He had really good energy today, his decision-making was really good, and he was really a floor general."

    Jamal is back. Rotation adjustments

Russ has undoubtedly been great starting alongside Jokic. Especially so while Jamal wasn’t playing well. But the best version of this team - it’s final form - is with Braun starting next to Jamal and Russ as the true 6th man.

Russ can still come in for Jamal midway through the 1st to finish out the quarter with Jok.

With this rotation, Malone can mix and match but have a two-man combo of Jamal/Jokic or Russ/Jokic most of the time. Jamal and Russ can play together for a stint (or sometimes to close games) to take ball handling pressure off Jamal.

When Jokic rests and AG plays backup C, Malone could make sure to play Russ or Jamal with MPJ and Strawther. This would allow for more playing time for Watson with Jokic (and not the woeful spacing of Russ-Watson-AG at the same time)

Ultimately, the Nuggets won the trophy with their elite starting 5, and Braun can be every bit as good or better than KCP was. Russ running the bench will work as long as he has Jokic and/or MPJ and Strawther.

It seems like Malone will get to this type of rotation but I worry he loves Russ so much that he will be stubborn. Russ has been great for us. And he will continue to be. Id just love to see the offense run through Murray and Jokic now that Jamal is coming into form (and limit the turnovers that Russ is prone too).

In the last 10 games, Jamal Murray is averaging 25.0 PTS/6.3 AST/4.6 REB on 50.83% from the field.

He's been playing at a genuine All-Star level ever since the breakout game vs Dallas. Scoring is up, assists are up, and the best part is he's been fairly efficient as well, though his 3FG% has been way lower than usual (30.83%). He's been aggressive, looking to score, and been tolerable on defense too (He and Mike did a good job on Maxey down the stretch tonight). Things are looking up, especially with the easy schedule going into the ASB.

Only team this season to shoot 65%+ from the field in a game, insane offensive performance.

If we get back our defense (which we will) this team looks locked in to be one of if not The favorite to win the ring.

    Jokic pf

I think this can work with a defense anchor, if we trade porter for okonwu and bogdanovic okonwu could be our anchor, jokic can do what he does in defense, and matchup nightmare on offense

Nikola Jokic has 11 points and one assist in last 2:11 of 4th quarter to will the Nuggets to the much needed win over the 76ers. 4/4 fg, 2/2 3pt, 1/1 ft

    https://www.espn.com/nba/playbyplay/_/gameId/401705247

100/100/100 splits in last 2 minutes. Small sample size, but Jokic does his best work in the most important sample sizes. Absolute monster in terms of his will to win.

    2:11 4th -- 3 pointer, 1/1 fg, 1/1 3pt

    1:29 4th -- assist to Braun for 2

    0:59 4th -- And One 3 point play, 2/2 fg, 1/1 3pt, 1/1 ft

    0:39 4th -- 3 pointer with no fucks given, 3/3 fg, 2/2 3pt, 1/1 ft

    0:12 4th -- Brilliant touch on a runner that he was fouled on, 4/4 fg, 2/2 3pt, 1/1 ft

Nuggets win 137-134 after being down 122-125 with 2:12 to go in 4th. Maxey gave it his best, but Joker is Joker.
