I mean, it's not like I'm a fan or anything. But it's been in roughly the same state of completion for what seems like about a year now.
Anyone know why?
So, hears the thing:
I've been in Denver for about a year or 2 and would love to get back into playing some D&D, Torchbearer, or some other table top game. I've been pretty lucky to randomly meet people in previous cities I've lived in to get some groups together, but I've been in BioTech startups in Denver and most people are younger - so not holding my breath on whether or not I'll find the same here.
The pitch?
I want to find some cool local people to get a new game going. We're located up in Westminster (hence posting here), and I am totally an almost-40-year old Dad, so also trying to find people in similar scene since (as we all know) you gotta work schedules in around the kids. All welcome, having kids is definitely not a requirement, but definitely a disclaimer. I'm happy to put a game together, and all about anyone who is interested even if you've never played before! It's so trendy these days you're basically shooting yourself in the foot for NOT playing!
Interested? Send me a message. Not interested? Also send me a message. Not interested in sending messages? Can't help you.
And as the kids say these days, YOLO.
I passed this guy on Colorado this morning and dude was very clearly in road rage mode afterwards. He drove in the median to flash his lights at me, you can see in the photo that he's partially in my turn lane, he kept getting in my way to flash his rear high beams, ran a red light to get ahead of me, and made an illegal turn after a while. Company is Red's Towing.
Don't let these dickhead tow truck drivers push you around y'all, stay safe.
Weird ask, I know!
I'm a wood working hobbyist and I have some nice pieces of pine (like 4 foot long and a foot across) that I want to get cut into planks but my little garage table saw ain't gonna get it done. I tried a chainsaw but not only can I not cut straight, I lose a ton of the wood to the thickness of the blade.
So, I'm trying to find a denver area / north denver saw mill or wood processing plant or some place that I can pay to plank the few pieces of wood I've got. I can't imagine it would take more than a few minutes with a big industrial saw. I googled around and wrote a few lumber stores but they just sell, not cut.
I recently moved to Thornton, and I'm looking for a good general mechanic. My household has a Subaru and a Toyota - just need somewhere to take them for regular maintenance and minor repairs. At the moment, one car has a stuck vent actuator (so it's only putting out A/C from the top vents, not on the feet), and could probably use a repair/recharge on the A/C itself. Who do you trust in the area for good work at a reasonable price? Thanks!
Hi all, my partner and I are moving to CO as I'm going to doctoral school in Boulder. We found a well priced (assumedly income locked) apt in Thornton on Ura Lane, just south of 104th. Can anyone tell me about the area? I've read that Thornton can be an unsafe place to be but I'd rather hear it from locals. We don't care about being in an older part of town--matter of fact we'd rather avoid overpriced gentrified areas.
Thanks in advance!
There seems to be very few RV campgrounds in the Westminster area, and even Denver in general. I guess because there are freezing temps for such a large part of the year? Anyway Iβm looking for something July 1-10 to be in the area for my wifeβs best friendβs wedding. I donβt really want to splurge on a hotel room when I already pay for an RV. Any leads on good ideas would would be appreciated. Sewer, water, and electric hookups required for that length of time.
Thanks!
I fenced in Highschool and have been looking to get back into it since COVID settled down a bit. My daughter (10) has also expressed interest in learning, and it seemed like a great thing for us to do together.
So I started looking for a school in our area (Thornton). But I can only find schools and/or clubs near downtown Denver, in Boulder, and in Longmont. I can't find anything in between which means a fairly long drive for any of those options.
Does anyone know of any fencing schools or clubs in the TWN area?
Anyone know what the gross smell is in the mornings lately? Iβm off 120th and Holly specifically. Seems to only be around in the morning.
Definitely not the typical cow shit smell when fronts move in.
Hey guys,
I'm moving to Northglenn next month and I have a couple of questions. I found some decent gyms online, but I always like calisthenics, monkey bars, Obstacle Course Training, or general gymnastics type workouts.
Where's a good gym to do this at?
Aside from that, what would you guys recommend in the area, your favorite restaurants, things to do, social spots, etc.
Appreciate you all!
Wondering how this area is: crime, schools, stores, night-life, etc. Thank you in advance!
Hello All!
We're a family of four, relocating to the NW Denver Area from Stockholm Sweden.
I'll be working in Westminster, and I have been looking at some houses in that area.
Especially near Legacy Ridge and surrounding areas.
β
However, I'm hearing both good and bad things about Westminster - What are your honest opinions?
I'm also looking at Louisville, Arvada, Superior, Broomfield etc.
Thanks in advance!
Br, Oscar
Hello! Wasn't there before pandemic a plan to have an IKEA up north? Did I dream that?
If you're not listening to City Council for Thronton, you're missing out on an epic night!
Hi all. I have recently moved in to what is turning out to be a really shady rental community (Avilla). They use a formula to distribute the water bill amongst everyone and provide no visibility into the actual bill that they receive from the city. For two people, our water bill has been $170-210 the last few months which seems outrageous. Iβm wondering what is typical for a 2 person household in Thornton. Thanks.
