Junk yard?

Anyone ever been to the junkyard behind foreign car service? It's gated up but on Google you can see a huge collection of old cars

periodontist that accepts medicaid

So I know the dentist in Fort collins that accept medicaid- but recently my dentist says I need to see a Periodontist to try to save my teeth. So far- one of the ones in town doesn't- and them or my dentist haven't been helpful with giving me resources. So any help is appreciated as to find a Periodontist who does.

Does anyone ever go to the grow shop anymore (asking for a friend)

It seems like a few years ago there were like 5 grow shops in FoCo and now there aren't any. Do people in FoCo go to the one in Loveland or does nobody go anymore?

Places hiring right now?

I just lost my job with not much notice. I barely made enough money as is with the previous job. So savings was light. Was able to pay Decembers rent, but am totally screwed for January. I’m applying all over the place. And have sent in several applications for Fort Collins gov jobs. My degree is Ecosystem Science and Sustainable, I have experience in r, GIS, AutoCADD, python, excel, Matlabs, hydroponics, customer service, and other related areas. My last job was a GIS technician. I have applied to many jobs on the Fort Collins gov site, and LinkedIn. I am also interested if any book stores or coffee shops are hiring as far as retail goes. But if anyone knows of any other places that might be looking for someone with my qualifications please let me know!!

Health Insurance Options - Cigna vs BCBS vs UH

Happy holidays to those who celebrate and to those who don’t happy Monday to you ;)

I am looking for insight on marketplace options.

I’ve narrowed it down to three. Single 41F healthy.

Anyone know if one “brand” offers more coverage in the NoCo area than the others. They only offer EPOs. My goal is to determine which insurance company has the furthest reach network wise.

Thank you for any input or tips :)

What's the best freecycle type page/site for Fort Collins?

I have several bits of furniture that have become redundant, and would rather not just throw them away if someone else could find them useful. Anyone know of a local freecycle type page that's reasonably active, so I can get these posted and clear up my garage?

The lyric

I was curious if anyone had any insight to the lyric's new owner? Cupcake cabaret has been performing there for multiple years now and as of today apparently has been told they "no longer align with the views of the lyric of inclusion of LGTBTQIA+ or overweight individuals" which. Going to their shows several times over the last year or so. Is frankly not the case.

Any similar acts to Tipper in foco?

Just got back from the tipsgiving set at the Fillmore and had a blast.

Not sure if the Aggie is the main edm hub in town or if people have suggestions to what's coming that would be appreciated to hear your recommendations or what venues are best to check schedules for.

Or if there's a local artist that's worth checking out!

I've seen some good acts at the Mish but obviously that's summer time/fall shenanigans.

I'm also a fan of clozee, ott, jade cicada, of the trees, somatoast, dirt wire, those vibes if that helps narrow similar acts down.

Thanks!

Need help finding a job

Made this account on the whim with little to no options left. No drivers license and unemployed again. Managed to get only seasonal jobs for the past few years with my most recent being spirit halloween. Need something to stick with on the long run to pay for treatment on my mental problems and go back to bed every night on a full stomach. Anything helps :,)

Christmas lights

‘Tis the season and all that, where do y’all go to look at those pretty Christmas light displays?

Growing up in Mesa, AZ there was a 3 block section of a residential neighborhood that seemed contractually obligated to participate in a Christmas Light Extravaganza, and maybe it spoiled me but I’d like to think there’s a place here like that. Thanks in advance :)

Birthday activity ideas

My birthday is next week and I’d love to plan for an event with my friends in the area. I was thinking goofy like medieval times-esque, and that can accommodate a group of 5-10. EDIT: I should add, Medieval Times is a dinner show chain 😂 it’s a funny and good time for a group Thank you in advance!

Outdoor WiFi for Tesla software updates

I live in an apartment and my WiFi does not reach the parking lot.

Does anyone have a recommendation of somewhere in town where there is strong WiFi in a parking lot that can be used to update your Tesla?

Using a mobile hotspot has proven to be really slow, so hoping to find somewhere that has a faster connection to download the update more quickly.

Looking to hear from people who also have this issue and know of a specific spot.

TIA!

Need recommendations for Tax services for 1-person S-Corp

I own a local, one-man S-Corp (no employees/contractors except myself) and am looking to change tax prep to an affordable CPA. They *need* to:
- be accepting new clients for TY24 (Jan-Dec 2024),
- be transparent about any/all fees and T&Cs, and
- offer an initial 15-min consultation.

Prefer a locally owned, reputable and experienced CPA - but willing to work w/ someone virtually elsewhere in CO.

Beattie Elementary's First Book Initiative Committee - Volunteers needed

Hey everyone! I am a parent volunteer at the Beattie Elementary school library. Last year, our librarian started and raised money for the First Book Initiative. This year, she's requested assistance in coordinating the First Book Initiative Committee to help raise funds.

I am passionate about book access for children, but I am new to fundraising. Is there anyone that would like to donate their skills/time on this committee with me?

Here is a little bit more about the First Book Initiative:

On the first day of Beattie's annual book fair, each student gets to pick out one book of their choice to keep.

Studies show that book choice and ownership increase reading achievement and student motivation to read (Social Science Research, 2019, National Literacy Trust, 2021, National Literacy Trust, 2022). Beattie Elementary serves 250 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, with 56% that qualify for free and reduced lunch (the majority of that being free). Many of our students simply don’t have the opportunity to own many books, especially not books they have personally selected for themselves.

The First Book Initiative addresses a need in our community by putting more books of choice into the hands of every Beattie student.

Thank you for reading and the consideration :) Bighorns climb higher together!

Resources for trans people in Fort Collins

I want to spare the details here, so I'll just say. I have been closeted trans MTF for the last decade, graduated from CSU in the last couple years and still live in Fort Collins working here.

But My life needs to change. I need to give myself the ability to be happy. I'm 24 and feel like I have wasted too much time.

I have a great idea what first steps to take medically and socially when I'm ready. I've been thinking about that for 10+ years. I just have no idea how to walk through all the emotions of this, and all my complicated thoughts.

I just really want to know, what resources are there in Fort Collins for someone in this position? Are there groups? People I can talk to? Any therapist you'd recommend? I honestly don't know what to do.

Thanks All.

King Soopers Zero Hunger Zero Waste?

Hi! I'm a student at CSU looking for a King Soopers employee to tell me about the Zero Hunger Zero Waste program and how it’s implemented. I'm working on a final project about food waste in grocery stores. I worked for Sprouts produce for a bit and we threw all shrink in the bin, no employee was allowed to take anything expired, does King Soopers do the same?

Last day of the season at Soapstone Prairie

Soapstone is a real treasure of the Fort Collins Natural Areas. Today was the last day open of 2024 and it will open March 1st 2025. It is an isolated experience out there! I saw no other humans on the trail!
