In a 7 game NBA finals scenario, who do you have coming out and winning the series? yes the celtics are indeed the proven team and the reigning champs and the thunder lost in the 2nd round but made some transactions after that season
The presumable lineup would be
1Steph, Brandin at 2, they get creative and put Draymond at 3, Kuminga 4, Wilt 5.
Assuming they dont need to trade him, so they still have Wiggins, then Moody, Loony,'Trayce, GP2.
How far theyd go in the playoffs?
Jokic: Hey little man, welcome to Denver. How was the plane flight?
Westbrook: Hey big man, I’m in Denver now.
J: Very nice, it’s a mountain town.
W: I can tell because the plane had to fly up to get here.
J: Yeah, we’re 5000 meters high here. We might even be higher than if you smoked your weird uncle’s pipe!
W: What’s a meter?
J: It’s what we call a foot in Europe.
W: What’s it like in Europe?
J: It’s further east than here.
W: Gotcha. Also, I got your nose!
J: I’m not falling for that again. My weird uncle stole my nose but it was just a trick.
W: It’s just a trick.
J: Yeah.
W: It sure feels like Colorado here.
J: Yeah, it is.
W: Have you met Coach Malone?
J: Yeah.
W: Did you build your house?
J: No, I just bought it from a salesman.
W: Very nice, that’s an easier way to have a house.
J: It’s a very nice commerce trick. Trading goods.
W: I read a book about it. It had great illustrations.
J: Did the pictures distract you from the knowledge?
W: It’s probably lunch time here, but breakfast in California.
J: I guess you have to order from the brunch menu!
W: I always did like waffles more than pancakes.
J: Agree to disagree! Just kidding, I agree.
W: It’s been nice meeting you.
J: Yep, I’m sure we’ll see each other on the basketball court.
(Disclaimer: This is hypothetical conversation that could happen based on a behavioral analysis. Do not interpret any of this as fact.)
I’m a Knicks fan but have a very soft side to the lakers it stop when they play my Knicks, but come on do something make a trade anything, in my opinion and it’s not valid lol I think they should trade for Demar great forward he slows the game down when they need a shot knows when to play defense I think he’d be a great fit with bron and dlo and Davis wat y’all think 🤔 ????
Two Championship rosters, each beating the dynasty Warriors in The Finals. Here's a comparison of both teams' Playoff stats and roster depth.
Starting 5:
Bench Rotation:
Led by Finals MVP LeBron and ultimate closer Kyrie, the Cavs overcame a 3-1 deficit in The Finals to win in Game 7 against the reigning NBA champions, the Warriors, of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Starting 5:
Bench Rotation:
The Raptors made history in 2019, by winning their first Championship, with Nick Nurse at the helm. Supported by Siakam, Lowry and a pretty deep roster, Kawhi led the team's charge against the superteam Warriors, who most argue were depleted of energy during the series due to the injuries of both KD and Klay.
After recalling both Championship-winning teams' roster depth and Playoff performances, who wins in a 7-game series?
We're Indians living in India. My brother, 17 years old, 6 foot tall and 176 pounds, has played varsity equivalent here, and generally plays forward/center. He is under the misconception that, in a 1v1 where it is first to score wins, and he gets the ball first, he will easily beat a player like Trae Young. He believes that since Trae Young has a similar height and is lighter than him, he can bully him in the post and get an easy finish under the rim. Now, I know that he definitely won't be able to, but can't come up with good statistical/logical reasons for why. Help me out please, he has gone mad.
IT as in Isaiah Thomas. OG is around 6’7 and athletic, but he’s pretty injury prone. IT is one of the most skilled basketball players of all time and could pretty much do anything offensively. Keeping his skills, how good would be in OGs body?
I get the connotations of “owner” for a predominantly African American league, but its just so weird reading “Wyc is the governor of the Celtics”. Is being “governed” better? And doesn’t the term governor also has some historical association with British colonialism, when the slave trade was rampant? Just a very weird choice.
Obviously the 3 are Klay, Luka, and Kyrie.
With the Mavericks now having an improved roster from last year, the chances of them making it back to the finals are great. Let’s take a look at these 3 players.
Luka’s 2023-2024 stats: 33.9 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 9.8 APG, 1.4 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 48.7 FG%, 38.2 3P%, 78.6 FT%, and 61.7 TS%.
Kyrie’s 2023-2024 stats: 25.6 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.3 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 49.7 FG%, 41.1 3P%, 90.5 FT%, and 60.8 TS%.
Klay’s 2023-2024 stats: 17.9 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 2.3 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 43.2 FG%, 38.7 3P%, 92.7 FT%, and 57.6 TS%.
What’s your prediction for the 2024-2025 Dallas Mavericks?

With several notable free agents signing with new teams, I was thinking how many of them will get tributes when they play the first game back at their former arena? And this includes both video tribute and quick photo tribute/shout out (ie what the Celtics did with Rob Williams and Brogdon when the Blazers were in Boston).
Video Tribute 100%: Klay Thompson
Video Tribute Likely: Paul George
Photo Tribute or Camera Shoutout: Isiah Hartenstein, KCP
Maybe Some Sort of Shoutout: Alex Caruso, Tobias Harris, DJJ
Tribute Unlikely: Andre Drummond, Jalen Smith, Chris Paul, Nic Batum, Eric Gordon
Who has the highest motor in the NBA? Of the NBA players who are good and not shit or at least decent.
In global football (soccer), a team wins a “double” when it wins its league and its domestic cup tournament.
Some leagues, like in England, have additional cup tournaments so you can win a “treble,” or you can do that by winning a continental tournament like the Champions League.
Last year, the Celtics won the championship while the Lakers won the In-Season Tournament, so no team has won the double.
Do you think any teams have a chance to do it this year? Should the Celtics go at 100% in the In-Season Tournament to win the NBA’s first double and hang yet another banner?
Also, with the Olympics coming up, players have a shot at winning personal “trebles.” Jayson Tatum could win a gold medal, an In-Season Tournament trophy, and a championship in the same season, giving him an accomplishment Kobe Bryant never achieved before his retirement from basketball.
Here are the things I always here from fans after a deal that they didn’t want happens:
“The cap will increase every year so it won’t look bad in the future”
“We needed *insert inconsistent shooter * there are flashes of how good he is”
“We gave out zero picks for him, we lost nothing for this player”
“If * washed player * gets back to who they were a few years ago, then it will be a W for us”
What are some other things you hear fans say to cope?
I haven’t really seen him play this past season but from what I know he’s an elite 3pt shooter on high volume. Is that not the skillset everyone needs even a team like ours that was at the bottom of the league in attempts last year hasn’t had any rumour of being interested and we are rumoured for just about everyone. Has he fallen off that bad in recent years?
How is he this hated? He just played 74 regular season games and won 50+ games with the Clippers. Sure he played way less in years before but not last season.
This guy will be the third option for the Sixers. Maybe it's going to be incredible
Everyone keeps talking shit about Klay going 0/10 in an elimination game. What if he finishes his career with one more championship than Steph? Will people perceive his impact differently?
4rd edition of the food drive! Thanks to mods for pinning. Here's 2022. I know times are hard right now with gas and rent, at least for Americans, but that also means times are even harder for those in need. Anything helps!
Volunteering is a great way to contribute at your local food bank as well. I’ve personally done it myself and the Houston Food Bank is fascinating and has a great group of people working there. They have an informative tour, I packaged crates that are either delivered to homes or people come pick them up, and this year I sorted apples. It may not feel like it sometimes, but we are all in this together, and giving back to your local community feels good and allows you to meet people you wouldn’t otherwise.

Mikal Bridges got 5 picks and a swap
Dejounte Murray got 2 picks and a young player (let's call it 2.5 picks).
Keep in mind those two are on good contracts. Whoever gets Ingram will have to give him a deal that may or may not be worth it.
I imagine a double big lineup would cause a lot of matchup problems as teams have been less inclined to run traditional lineups in this day in age. But the premise is that you trade outside shooting for better rebounding.
The Nuggets with Gordon and Jokic. The Wolves with KAT and Gobert. AD even has a proven track record of succeeding in double big lineups. Even without Boogie, there was still Ryan Anderson (at least on offensE), Terrence Jones. Nikola Mirotic. Julius Randle. Small ball with at LeBron.
Double big lineups may no longer be the norm, but they'll crop up from time to time. Take current Laker Jaxson Hayes. His best stretch of play came when SVG and Willie Green put him next to Steven Adams and Jonas Valanciunas. Hayes even started all 8 of New Orleans' postseason games in 2022. (If you're worried about spacing, during those 2 seasons, he went 237/308 from the line and 26/71 from deep.)
I think that any alternate playoff format needs to meet the following criteria:
The first 4 games need to be split 2-2 between the 2 teams. This guarantees that each team gets at least 2 home games.
Three of the first 5 need to be at the home of the team with home court advantage. This increases the likelihood that the better team will win 4-1, so that they get more rest before the next series.
Four out of 7 need to be at the home of the team with home court.
So here are 3 alternate formats the NBA could adopt to 2-2-1-1-1
Format 1: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1
This does decrease the likelihood that the better team will go up 2-0. But it doesn't actually make it any harder for the better team to end the series earlier, since a series can't end after 2 games.
Just like with the 2-2-1-1-1, this gives the team with home court 2 of the first 4 at home, and 4 games is the shortest a series can last anyway. It also gives the better team 3 of the first 5 at home, to increase the likelihood that they'll win the series 4-1 and can get a lot of rest. Lastly, it gives the better team 4 of 7 at home.
The con is that this involves even more travel than 2-2-1-1-1 does.
Yes, this does give the better team 2 of the first 3 on the road. But a series can't end after 3 games anyway. It gives the better team 2 of the first 4 at home, so that they're likelihood of sweeping is the same as in the current format. It gives the better team 3 of the first 5 at home, so that their likelihood of winning 4-1 is the same as in the current format. Lastly, the better team gets 4 out of 7 at home.
This involves the same amount of travel as 2-2-1-1-1.
This is the most controversial format, where the better team will actually play the first 2 on the road.
But a series can't end after 2 or 3 games anyway. The better team will get 2 of the first 4 at home, so their likelihood of sweeping will be the same as under the current format. The better team gets 3 of the first 5 at home, so their likelihood of winning 4-1 will be the same as in the current format. Lastly, the better team gets 4 of 7 at home.
This is the only format that has less travel than 2-2-1-1-1. And it allows the better team to complete their sweep at home.
And wouldn't it be thrilling to see the better team come back from a 2-0 deficit to win a bunch of series?
Heck, this format will make it very difficult for the worse team to win if it's just 1-1 after 2 games. They'll have to win 3 of the remaining 5 games, when they're playing 4 of the last 5 games on the road and they're the worse team to begin with.
