I might be one of the last people here to figure this out, but P Diddy designed the green 2003 jersey with “Mavs” across the chest. I bought one of those jerseys (Dirk) a few years ago off of eBay for like $30 because I had always thought they looked cool. Thought id share here because I don’t feel particularly comfortable doing it on any other platform, but to me the irony is hilarious. Go Mavs.
I think once the new acquisitions get 10 to 15 games under their belts together, the defense will be one of the best defenses in the league just like last year. I’m really enjoying seeing Grimes play as he reminds me of an under control Josh green. Naji may not be as fast on his feet as a Derrick Jones but he is also a lot more physical so it’s harder for players to get around him as compared to Jones. Klay Thompson it showing that he can still keep up a bit, but more importantly has really active hands especially in the paint when he swipes down against guards and bigs.
1:37 Left - 114-109 Dallas
:09 on Shot Clock
Kyrie drives and kicks to Klay. Ball is tipped and Klay has to take a dribble and gets off a contested 3 with 1 second on the shot clock.
Lively tips the ball. Luka grabs It under the basket and goes up for a shot and is hammered by McDaniels, no call.
PJ grabs the rebound and is shoved by Rudy Gobert, no call. He is then shoved while in the air going out of bounds by McDaniels, no call.
PJ passes to Luka with 12 seconds left on the shot clock. Luka is fouled at least 3 times by Alexander Walker and McDaniels. McDaniels and Luka get tangled and the call is finally made with 10 seconds left on the shot clock.
Ball is inbounds to Lively who gets it to Luka with 9 seconds left on the shot clock about 35 feet from the basket. Drives to his right off the Klay screen and is still 30 feet from the basket and not squared up with under 5 seconds on the shot clock.
Two dribbles, step back 3 from 30+ feet with the shot clock expiring. Nothing but net. 117-109 Dallas with 1:04 Remaining. Keep in mind Luka was 0-7 from 3 for the night before that shot.
As the Wolves call a Time Out, Luka is FIRED UP. Screaming at the Minnesota fans “That’s what I ****ing DO!”
I know its only Game 4 of the season but god damn I love this team.
If you're an avid Dallas Mavericks fan, I'm pretty sure y'all already heard about the 2011 squad that won its first and only championship in franchise history led by Dirk Nowitzki who won Finals MVP.
However, perhaps the only fun fact I can share to you about the 2011 Mavs is that only one player who scored over 40 points that season and that would be the aforementioned Dirk who scored 42 points on a night of November 23, 2010 against the Detroit Pistons.
Even more crazier, there are only 3 different players who scored over 30 points all season long and these were Dirk (15), Jason Terry (1) and Caron Butler (1).
I live outside the US, so watching the games live isn't an option because of the time difference
I don't like watching the highlights of the official Dallas Mavs YouTube channel because they only show the Mavs highlights, I'm looking for 10 min video highlights of both teams, full game
The other YouTube channels like gamtime highlights are uploading 720p videos only which sucks, I have a big monitor, 720p is so bad on a big monitor. I don't like to watch on the phone, I barely see the plays
In previous years, you had channels like freedawkins that uploaded in 1080p, where did those channels go?
Just posting the stuffs. Good game!

I know it is a really small sample size but the FT discrepancy has been pretty robust especially vs the Suns and Jazz
vs San Antonio - Mavs 17/23 Spurs 19/24
vs Suns - Mavs 15/18 Suns 28/37
vs Jazz - Mavs 13/17 Jazz 24/29
Against the Suns Luka had 12 of the 18 attempts. The opposing team is +31 in attempts the last two games. I know our style of play is now even more 3pt driven than previous years (if that is possible) but still we have Gaff and Lively who live in the paint and Kyrie and Luka who drive a lot. Last night was especially baffling because there was at least a dozen times that we absolutely fouled Markannen and Kessler with no calls then get called for much less contact a play or two later. Is this just poor refs or something we need to adjust with the loss of slashers like Green and DJJ?

Assuming Bucks continue to underperform and Giannis potentially asking out at some point (and considering he seems to be in a decently good relationship with Luka), what would you be willing to give up to get him to Dallas?
Giannis is due 49M this year, so financially a Mavs can make it work by trading Kyrie, Lively (let’s be real, no deal is happening without him) and one of Hardy or OMax, plus all the picks Mavs could get their hands on (so 2025, 2026 swap, 2031).
Would you do that trade?
Am I insane to think that Dereck Lively would benefit from working several months with Hakeem? He’s got quick feet, makes good decisions, and leans more toward the agile/slender side than the strong/bruiser side. (He’s definitely no stickman like Wemby or Chet, but his frame doesn’t suggest he’ll be putting on insane amounts of muscle anytime soon.)
Sure, this is the modern NBA, so ideally, he’d develop a reliable outside shot, but I’m a bit skeptical of that happening, at least in the short to medium term. It seems to me he would benefit greatly from improving his post game – especially considering his toolkit in terms of court vision and passing ability. He could be deadly if he developed a killer mid-range shot, kept improving his baby hook and floaters, and refined his pick-and-roll action and finishing skills even further.
Although this seems like a much more natural and feasible course of action, no one even seems to consider it. What am I missing?

The 3 foul calls were included because they were good defense and not actually fouls lol. They also happened to be the only ways Book was able to “score” on him yesterday outside of this 3 thanks to a laughably egregious moving “screen” by Nurk. The compilation is as short as it is because Klay had essentially taken Book out of the game, forcing him to give it up on most possessions when Klay was on him.
I get it, we went to the Finals last year and got new acquisitions this year. Klay, Marshall, Grimes. Just bc we got better, doesn't mean we are going 82-0. Obviously we are going to lose a few games we should be winning. A lot of optimistic fans said we'll lose around 30 games, well obv that means we have to LOSE 30 games... like last night. Damn.
