I had messaged u/Dumbmatter about this a couple years ago, but finally decided to provide proof! Basically, players with very high INS ratings end up taking too many bad 3s against teams with good perimeter defense. It works out fine for them against bad or average teams, so their regular season numbers are not affected much, but in the playoffs, this small difference can be the difference.
I simulated 25 identical seasons with two cloned teams, one of which has 99 INS ratings but 55 3PT, and the other has 80 DEF IQ and 0 3PT. The LOWER rated team always had the better record, and won 22 out of 26 playoffs (which were 1 round, first to 11 wins).

I increased the game from 48 minutes to 60 minutes at 15 minutes per quarter.
Reduced the number of fouls to foul out to 5 from 6.
Increased the team minimal roster to 15 players per team.
Added to expansion teams, Mexico City and Winnipeg. Increased population to 4.5 million for Winnipeg. Kept the 2 already scheduled expansion teams thus making a 34 team league where Mexico City and Winni are southeastern and central teams in the east respectively.
Lasty reduced the max player salary while increasing the salary cap.
All of this because it feels like too many good players go to waste in Free Agency when you use real players and teams for the league and things in general can also start to feel a little stagnant. I love God Mode.

Made up division for remaining teams(TEC & Independents)
No real players btw. 35 game season. AI trading off aswell.
Things like all time total rebound, points etc in their careers, like 20k total points scored in their careers Is it possible to see it?

I really like seeing the high point totals, triple dubs, and whatnot pop up notifications as the season progresses but why not team highs too? If your guys make 30 threes in a game that's noteworthy too!
Thoughts?
The Myrtle Beach Safari are in need of a new GM! The VBA is a multiplayer league with 22 teams and is in its 10th season. The Safari are one of the best teams in the league! With a trio like West, Lamb and James, you could hop in and immediately compete for a championship!

Hey u/dumbmatter thank you for creating such a great game. Over the last 2-3 days when I've been on my BasketballGM save it's suddenly redirected me to a fake virus infection website that claims my computer's getting hacked
I've done my own antivirus scans and it's not on my files or computer. I don't think my Chrome somehow got infected so just wanted to put this out here to see if anyone else had this happen
Is there any option where I can save my custom league and use the save rather than recreating the league all over again? As long as I know there's this duplicate league option but the roster remain the same and I want to play with different roster
So I have 2 BBGM saves. A foreign save called the NPB (Nippon Professional Basketball...get it?) and the actual real life player NBA league.
What I do normally is if in the NPB league a player is really good i'm talking multiple MVPs, DPOYs, etc. I end up retiring them around like age 28,29. And then importing them to the NBA league in the same year.
Of course I adjust the overalls accordingly. For instance a 85 ovr NPB player would be likely around like a 70-74. (In this timeline I always think that basketball was on equal footing with baseball. Maybe George Mikan went to Japan in the 50s and just wowed everyone.) It's actually really interesting tbh.
Does anyone else do something similar? That being have a league that is international, then if a certain player is good enough export them to a main save or NBA save?
