Anybody watch the Hawks tonight and get the feeling that is exactly how the pacers should look like just substitute Trae for Tyrese.
They have surrounded Trae with big, long, athletic defenders. Plus they are decent 3pt shooters.
Jalen Johnson, Deandre Hunter, Dyson Daniels 🤤
What was the starting five for the Pacers the year you became a fan? I’ll go first.
Pacers had the highest offensive rating in the league by like 3-4 points all the way up until the trade. We finished second but we took a serious offensive hit getting rid of heild and brown. With those two on the floor we had SHOOTERS surrounding a top three facilitator in the league. We were winning games and BLOWING ppl out. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge siakam fan and I felt he fit our scheme really well but I don't believe it made our team better. I low-key think the slump hali has been in since all star break of last season is because he lost one of the best shooters of this decade that was taking some of the pressure off of him. Lmk what y'all think.
In this episode we discuss: the Pacers biggest problems, Inability to replicate last year’s pace, Nembhard’s return, Ty’s home/road splits, Struggles w/ Benn & Ty, Missing Nesmith, Clash of styles w/ Pascal & Ty? And Jarace Walker
Part 2 will be out tomorrow!
Demoralizing defense can be really fun too.
I see Myles being mentioned as someone we should look to trade, but I haven't seen many realistic takes on his value.
Honest question - what team would give up assets for Myles that wasn't only expecting him to be the missing piece this year (and has anything of value)? I haven't considered every team in the league, but the Suns are the only team I can think of that would maybe consider him the piece they need to make a push for a chip this year.
Point being, I just don't see Myles having a high enough value for another team to give us something that we value more than having a center on the team.
What would we realistically have to give up to make this happen and would it result in a championship?
Pascal is obviously an auto include and this would allow us to let Myles be Myles for a few more seasons. As much shit as I talk about the guy I know his uniqueness is a huge part of our (former) identity. I say former bc right now we lack one.
i know we are all basically in panic mode about the fact that our team is gearing up for a trade (especially given the waiving of moses brown) but what kind of a package are we willing to put together without sacrificing key guys for a solid center? and on top of that, what center would be a good fit for our roster?
guys who i feel we MUST keep for future success:
• Ty - obvious
• Siakam - obvious
• TJ - obvious
• Obi - has proven incredible upside and brings the consistency in the bench unit across all stats that we desperately need
• Nembhard - a SOLID facilitator and great 2 guard who can pick up any slack when Ty is having an off night
• Myles - sure he has off nights, but let’s not forget just how valuable a guy like him is. he’s a 7 footer who, if he’s in the right mindset (key talking point, however) can do basically anything on the floor from shooting threes to protecting the rim.
i believe anyone else is on the chopping block, as difficult as it is to say. mathurin doesn’t fit our style as much as we want, nesmith is solid and a fan favorite but if we traded him it wouldn’t dismantle our identity, and the same goes for jarace. i will say though i think ben sheppard is going to have a perfect future with our team, but again our identity won’t be lost if he is apart of a package.
what are your guys thoughts? who should we have eyes on? it seems like walker kessler is the talk of the sub but i don’t think danny ainge is gonna budge on him unless we ruin our roster. poeltl? goga? ayton? i don’t feel any sort of way towards any of these guys, good or bad, just want to gauge what collective feelings we all have right now cuz this really does suck and i don’t think any of us were anticipating where we are now compared to where we were after game 7 vs. knicks last season.
I learned a few things watching this podcast with Caitlin and Tony as far as X’s and O’s. Caitlin’s in-game analysis takeaways are so dang good. If you have a spare hour, I really think you would find value in this episode and encourage you to watch.
What do y’all think? My personal take is I think our team is soft but does well whenever a fire gets lit under their asses. Nembhard+nesmith and maybe a pick or two? My only concern going all in on a hali-math-butler lineup would be butler’s age, but it’s pretty clear to me that we need defense and nembhard just don’t seem to mesh well with Haliburton playstyle wise imo. Would love to see math and butler compete together and push one another.
The team’s off this week but I guarantee you the club is putting in a lot of work. Coaches in the lab. GM on the phone.
What changes do you think we’ll see from the team coming out of this break?
Sounds like Portland is open to trading most of their vets. I wouldn't mind snagging Williams to be backup C. Tough physical guy who's a great lob threat, defender and rebounder. Kinda similar to IJax but more polished.
The trade machines say this trade is legal on January 14th, 2025.
Nets get: Myles Turner (via TPE) and Pascal Siakam.
Pacers get: Nic Claxton and Cam Johnson.
Who says no?
---
Does the above team have a shot at winning titles? If not, the best thing for the Indiana Pacers to do could be to tank hard AF and hope to land Cooper Flagg.

I've read where Rick has said this. Was this an offseason mindset, you guys think? Or was this born out of our early injuries and current injuries? We have 3 fucking point guards who some games nearly EACH had 10 assists...what the hell? I know I'm preaching to the choir but oh well...
Hopefully that is the one change that is made this week. Decide to equate the pace from last year, good, bad or indifferent...then go from there. Shouldn't that be an easy choice? Not saying there won't be more mistakes at times, but whatever they did to get in that mindset last year, do it now.
I think we should start TJ with Ty, Benn (until Nesmith comes back), Pascal, and Myles, then bring Drew off the bench. Or even bring Ty off bench.
TJ seems to still be playing at the same pace as our entire team, so lets use him to get off the ground.
Obviously Nembhard recently came back and losing Nesmith, Jackson, Sheppard, and Wiseman to injuries fucking sucks, but we really need to come together as a group and the same goes with the coaching staff, especially if we wanna beat teams without some of their best players.
"We gotta be fucking dogs man, we gotta have that same fucking mentality every fucking day, I swear to God, every fucking day" 💯
I really wonder what Siakam, James Johnson, and McConnell have all been saying to the guys in the locker room, especially since the energy is so all over the place rn
Hello,
I am start new project making people double. I see your team not good: many say Nesmith good. So. I make deal: You give this season: Halaborton salary. You give: Miles Terner Salary. I allow: You use my new number one technology to make Nesmith double. Then you haev two Nesmith.
