Model is Rowan Paladin from overhead studio. But for me it will be a chaos warrior.
Had to get my first one done before the new year, and C&C is welcome
Had a few additions to my Black Templars, dipped my toes into AoS with Seraphon, and made some great progress on my Daemons backlog. Looking forward to getting even more done in 2025.
Nurgle - A Great Unclean One, six Nurglings, a Poxbringer, and a unit of Plaguebearers.
Tzeentch - A Lord of Change, The Changeling, six Screamers, and eighteen Flamers.
I've been painting for some time, but I think I want to start using oil washes. I am familiar with guides and how to videos about it, but I don't see a lot of purchasing advice.
Mineral spirits as the solvent and "oil paint" as the color is obvious, but does the quality of the oil paint make or break the usefulness of the wash? Is it worth going right for Windsor and Newton or just some cheap student oil paints?
Also, is it mostly effective in shading (black/brown/blue) or is it worth it to use oil wash for effect (rust) and recess color (deeper orange in the recesses of yellow armor)?
I got the dark souls board game and wanted to do something like the anor londo floors. Not especially new to painting, just wanted to get some ideas.
I'm finally wanting to branch out with miniature painting and get some oil washes. I've read good things about both of these, but nothing comparing the two. Has anyone had experience with both of these?
I'm leaning towards AK mainly because I know they're well loved in the miniature community.
Just finished it Warhammer Age of Sigmar discover set i get for christmas
I’ve been work on layering and glazing on an Ork character. Many of the glazing videos I’ve watched show getting the paint to a glaze consistency then wicking the glaze from the bristles on to a paper towel. I feel like what I’m left with is too dry. Do you really remove that much fluid?
Just curious if anyone knows what pigments scale 75 uses in their Scale Color line. I have three, irati green , medium camo green (warfront) and Caribean blue. I read somewhere researching leather that CrIII can turn to Cr6 in humid conditions and in contact with other Chems but I’m not a chemist and that’s out of my league. I checked their artist color line which has the pigments listed and they don’t use CrIII (PB17) so I think it goes to reason their other colors wouldn’t use it either. Any thoughts or am k just a worry wort. I remember dry brushing and swing a bunch of dust from my brush (prob from older paint water) and I’m just worried about toxic stuff.
Spent today painting my first ever mini. Used a range of Army Painter fanatic paints. Any feedback / hints / guidance / criticism is absolutely welcome.
