I want to get into printing and a friend online recommended this to me. Wash station is around the same price as well. Seems like a pretty decent entry point price for all the possibilities of it but maybe it sucks.
Hi, am I right I thinking an adult male human should be 28mm tall? I've been printing elves from various sources and their size is all over the place, despite being 28mm or 32mm reduced to 28mm. Problem is I have nothing to compare against , so I've no idea which ones are the correct size?!
Hello I want to scale this model up to 1/6th scale but no clue how much I need to upscale it by.
Does anybody know any links that have a miniature of Madara Uchiha from Naruto? Been looking through Etsy and google images but I can't really seem to find one.
So I used to print tons of minis but about a year ago we had a bad storm that flooded my print room and fried my printers. I had a Mars 3 and an Anycubic photon moon XL as well as a Ended 3 pro and an anycubic Kobra. I'm looking to get new machines I've been liking what I've been seeing from Bambu labs but if I'm being honest I haven't really kept up with much else and I'm wondering what you all think are the best budget printers around now days.
Gave up on Lychee auto arrange and arranged myself. Came out fantastic.
These are the Mareen Boyz skulpt by Mezgike Miniatures. Such good detail.
With this batch complete only 60 more boyz required for full green tide!
And my first 40k set. Would love any feedback or recommendations for how best to do the shoulder insignias!
I'm trying to print this mini on an ultimaker s3, with PLA in the first nozzle and PVA as the support structure. The nozzle sizes are 0.4 for the PLA and 0.8 for the PVA. I am using Cura for my slicing software. All of my models end up being really stringy and full of wierd holes. I can't recalibrate the printers because I am using the printers provided by my university. What are the best cura settings to fix this?
If I can't fix it with cura settings, what can I use to fill in the wierd holes and remove the stringing?
I’m trying to get my buddy into OPR and he wants an alien demon army. Any recommendations would be great.
Hi,
I'm sure that these questions have been answered before, but I've been having trouble getting clear cut answers to them. I've been doing research, but still am not confident enough into putting money into this hobby. I was hoping to speak to experienced folk here directly.
I like to collect figures, but premade figures don't always come with poses I want, and I've been wanting to make little scenes. I recently bought one of those square box bookshelves, and wanted to turn two adjacent boxes into a "studio" and "recording booth" scene by cutting a hole between them and putting an acrylic window, and another one of those boxes into a display of miniature instruments.
I looked at resin printing and I know that it is a lot more accurate than FDM, but I don't have much space in my office (And the stuff has to be in my office room) for me to confidently do resin printing safely. I have about 1 by 3 feet of table space, and my room does not get good ventilation (It gets very hot with the door closed, and it is a basement room with no windows).
Considering this, these are my questions:
What printer would be best for my purposes? I'm leaning quite heavily on FDM for the ease of use. For reference, the figures and minis would be 1/8 size. My budget is also not very high, I think. Preferably under $300, but I can go higher if there is an improvement in quality, reliability, and ease of use. I heard FDM loses in quality for miniatures, but I look at the minis people print, and they are about 2-5 cm tall. The figures and miniatures I plan on printing (That require detail) are anywhere from 12 to 25 cm long, 2-10 cm across, and 5mm to 10cm deep.
As a beginner in 3D modeling and printing, what software would be best for this? Something easy to use where I can download a model and edit their poses to fit what I want to print, by dragging joints or something, would be best. I'm not sure if something like this exists, but if it does I would like to know any recommendations. I also don't mind learning how to create my own models as long as the software is easy to use.
Finally, any tips or tricks that you guys might have learned through your experience that might be relevant to what I want to accomplish here.
Thank you all in advance.
Hey so I recently got some votann from a friend, but the sagitaur and the HLF didn't come with the windshield and it makes the models look a bit odd to me.
Where can I find some stls for the windshields for these models? Any help is appreciated.
I recently inherited this 3d printer and was wondering if it’s capable of printing basic warhammer 40k minis?
This picture is post primer; .08 layers, and tilted in the worse possible way to show the layers.
So question from the title: is dry brushing advisable or will it just accentuate the layers?
