Should I make these riders removable and if so what method would you use. I was thinking magnets on the guys and also under the top piece of the tank body.
Not sure if this is a stupid question but can you build an army with a mix of infantry types.
Eg a platoon of German Heer with a platoon of Fallschirmjäger in the same army?
I’m guessing a squad of each in the same platoon wouldn’t be allowed, or make sense.
I have a Sherman and a M3A1 half track model already.
I'm struggling to find a decent set of paid-for road/path STLs for Bolt Action.
Don't get me wrong - I found loads of options - but they all seem to have one of four problems:
Does anyone know of any good ones that don't fall into one of these pots?
Essentially I'm after road/path tiles that are modular, low-profile, long (within average printer bed dimensions) with decent detail (cobblestones/road/dirt/tracks) allowing a quick dry brush as a minimal starting point.
Happy to pay for these STLs, I just can't find anything that's perfect, and I'd hate to print a whole set of the current inferior options only to find a decent one afterwards!
Looking for thoughts (but mainly pictures!) on how dense you think tables should be and what yours look like.
This might be a bit of a daft question or something that has already been FAQed, but under the unit entry for the Nebelwerfer the entry says
1 Nebelwerfer (treat as heavy mortar
I know its a multiple-launcher, heck even the description beside mentions its a multiple rocket launcher, but the unit card seems to have left out it being ruled as one. The lack of a closed bracket makes me assume this was a print error.
I assume this is a typo and should be treated as Multiple-Launcher right?
I just got the book in the mail but I'm no hero when it comes to reading books :)
Now to prime, paint, base and off to the box so it won't get too much dust;) Easy said...;)
Can I use snap to with an officer to a transport and the units inside it? So, can I:
Hello! I got the Battle of Bulge started and I followed the instructions to create the army. After some matches against the Americans, I realized the squads were too weak with 5 men and I tried to pump them a little. I found a deal on a local website for 16 more units but they were already assembled and some even painted. I still have extra bits to modify, but I could make this list. So, what do you think? Would you recommend me to make some changes? Thanks for the council.
I’ve bought trees before and they have ended up being really low quality with bits constantly falling off. Can anyone recommend a decent supplier? Are the ones that are for sale via Warlord Games any good (I believe they are Hornby)?
Hello, guys! Can you explain me how works the cover saves in vehicles?
1.- vehicle (1) shoot and hit. 2.- vehicle (2) in hard cover because behind a wall. 3.- then?? Roll for cover?? And if you pass it avoid the hit? Or continues normally with the damages tables and after rolled for damage roll the cover save?
Thnks in advance Sorry for my english.
New player here. I assembled and painted the Battle of the Bulge set and played the first two intro scenarios solitaire to learn the rules so I can teach my sons. Fun game.
For my birthday my family got me some more Bolt Action sets. I'm not sure they are exactly what I want but the store will accept a return/trade worth a few hundred dollars. The question is, what to do next...
The local game stores don't really have an active Bolt Action community (I'm near Milwaukee). My four sons like to game though (we play Magic the Gathering and computer games together), so I'm thinking of maybe painting up a few more armies for quick 500 point games.
Questions:
The Battle of the Bulge a German and US force that are around 385 points for the first two scenarios. The third scenario suggests adding a Sherman and a Stug III. One of the gifts I received is a Panzer IV. Would a Sherman still be a fair fight if I added one?
WarLord offers German and U.S. Winter Support Groups which would add MMG and mortar. They are metal models though. I don't really want to mess with buying new paints. Is metal hard to work with? Is it better to buy the US Army Infantry Winter German Fallschirmjager Platoon (Winter) and work with plastic? And do these sets give me enough to expand to say 1000 points in the future?
Another option is to paint up a couple of other small sets from other nations. One of the gifts was the Japanese Imperial Infantry. Would this make a good 500 point army? Not super interested in Japan though. Maybe a Russian or British set.
Sources for 500 point scenarios?
Sources for 500 point lists?
Hi All, this is a followup to another post about spotters. Lets say both sides have two spotters and a sniper. Reading pages 170 & 174, please correct me if I have anything wrong
In a Meeting Engagement, put order dice in bag for infiltrators and spotters, pull dice out then deploy that unit. They can be deployed anywhere on the table, as long as 12 inches away from enemy. So I could place my spotter or sniper right up near opponents edge of the board! When these are all placed, we go to a normal game start.
In Prepared Positions, is the setup the same for spotters and snipers as above? ie just sniper and spotters in bag, then when they are all deployed add order dice for other on table units and deploy them as their dice pulled from bag. Can you place the spotters and snipers in opponent's deployment zone (if still 12 inches away from any enemy)?
Sorry for the dumb questions!
After struggling to see the tiny weapons on my models for a few games I decided to color code them so I can tell what I’m rocking at a distance. Anyone else sacrifice realism for playability?
Hi All, after a second game of Bolt Action, we had some questions which may be obvious but werent to us
Thanks in advance
i've tried scour pads and they do work pretty good for hedgerows, but they seem too square for bushes.
On easy army it says I can only take 1 BAR per squad but I read on this sub it is 2 (maybe v2). I run airborne and ranger.
Thanks!
Hey Guys, a quick question to this captured Bren.
Do someone know if this is an existing Model or a Kitbash?
I think it looks very cool and would love to have one.
Got inspired by digital artist Patrick Wagesreitger (@patso_carso on IG) and converted some Rohan warriors from LOTR into British reinforcements, will use them as commandos squad. My local group is all pro Weird War, so I used this opportunity. Probably will add some more and also convert Sherman Firefly to add to the flavor.
