No longer work in a shop so I had to make do with what was on hand.
Coworker came in on a flat. We had a similar sized tire on a training vehicle but wrong lug pattern. Dismounted the tires with a bottle jack against the bumper, spooned off the tires with flatheads, used a ratchet strap to cinch up the tire while setting the bead.
Man do I not miss roadside tire mounting. That shit was hard work that I’m happy is no longer part of my days.
This was a wild one.
Anyone ever use this in your Model T days?
These are on an old motorcycle trailer I inherited from my grandmother. The fact that the registration tags on the bike that came with it expired in 1986 should give you an indication of the decade these tires are from 😋. Still holding air though.
Flowkooler pump on the right for comparison
Doing valve cover gaskets and was happy to see it was so clean. Bought it from the original owner.
03 Suby EZ30. That's all timing chain idler shaft and cam surface stuck to the oil pan mag.
Blowout FR, Put lug covers back on lugs with donut. Nothing wrong with it so don’t hit me with “I do that all the time, what’s the issue!?” Just a first for me lol
(Ford Transit) I can’t recall for sure but i’m pretty sure this vehicle was driven into our shop after the customer ran over something. RIP oil pan.
(GMC Sierra diesel) Truck was parked for a while and the customer brought it in after they found some warning lights and “possible rodent damage” Some mutant rodent ate the top of the battery casing. Amazingly, it still showed 12 volts.
This customer came in for just an oil change and a state inspection after having it at another shop that installed a new transmission. ($10k). This was the front axle where it bolts to the front differential (2013 Escalade) Both sides were left half screwed in and one bolt was missing.
Just why
Bought a 3d printer a couple years ago for the purpose of organizing my mismatched collection of sockets. After a couple failed attempts i found this Gridfinity system by Zach Freidman. I took the files and customized them for my needs.
Posting this for two reasons, one too expose this to others. And two I have been thinking about offering this as a service to other mechanics and wondering what kind of interest there would be and what would be reasonable pricing. This is an open source system but licensed in a way that modifying and selling is allowed.
All 4 looked like this
Found this in the throttle body of a '06 Monte Carlo SS.
My truck has 280k. I have no idea if the ball joints have ever been done. They were a little overdue. I'm doing the other side of the truck in a few weeks when I have more time.
Brought into a CJDR dealer for an oil rotate
It happened at low speed so gladly no one was injured. Other side was cracked and about to break as well.
