    Trouble with boot fit

I'm trying to buy some Wolverine Raider Durashock Wellingtons but am having the toughest time with getting a good fit. I normally wear a 10 - 11 depending, so with the thick wool socks I'll be wearing I started with the 11's - too big. From there I tried the 10.5's and now the 10's, which still feel like my heel is slipping and not snug. So I've ordered the 9.5's but I haven't worn that size shoe in decades.

Are boots like this not supposed to fit snug? With the composite toe I can't tell where my toe is other than I know its not hitting the end of the boot. This is my first pair of work boots and will be using them for landscaping.

Need help figuring out what boots to buy

I’m an Aircraft Mechanic in the PNW where it rains a majority of the year. I work outside all day long and always on my feet. I need help figuring out what boots will suit me the best for my work conditions. I’m tired of wet and sore feet. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

    Best Sub-200$ Work Boot?

Now accepting opinions on your favorite work boot under 200$. Mainly looking for style and comfort, since I don’t care if my toes get chopped off.

    Recommendations!

All my mechanics, let me know what you wear 10+ hour days on concrete floors. My timberland’s are 7 years old now and I’m ready to let them go. Enjoy the fire, brothers.

    Slim moc toe boots

    Hello

I'm looking for a moc toe boot that isn't bulky, or bulbous looking. The only one I've seen is the nicks version but I don't have the budget for that lol I'm looking for more in the $200 to $250 range. Thank you!

I'm looking to get a pair of Thorogood boots.

I want to try my first pair of Thorogood boots. I'm switching from Irish setters. I wanted to try a pair of composite toe boots but Thorogoods are limited in that area. I have bad knees from doing commercial construction. I figured the composite toes are lighter, making it easier on my knees. Are composite toes that much lighter than steel toes? How are Thorogoods steel toes in terms of weight?

Is the Thorogood crazy horse leather more “stiff” than the tumbled tobacco leather?

My tobacco Thorogood’s are super soft but the break in feels kinda sloppy and loose. Thinking about trying out the crazy horse leather if it’s not tumbled and has a better break in feel.

    Plantar fasciitis

Anyone here that has plantar fasciitis find a good boot to help with that? I’ve read the wedge boots are helpful but I’ve had one pair of wedge boots but didn’t like them that much. Any help is appreciated!

    Boot that’s good for fitness

I work in plant as a process operator so I do some walking but a lot of time at a computer in a control room. Between 12+ hour shifts and an hour commute each way I don’t have time to get to the gym as I’d like. Is there a boot recommendation that’s steel/safety toe and waterproof that is good for some calisthenic workouts I can do in my control room?

White wedge boot sole traction on grass/outdoors?

I'm primarily a renovation contractor, but build/repair a fair number of decks on the regular, so I find myself tromping around in clients' yards often. In this area, everything is a hill, lol, so traction on grass/leaves is pretty important.

I'm looking at a number of wedge boots, and I was curious what people's experience is with those soles on slick surfaces/grass/etc. They look super comfy, and I need something that'll cut my feet a break (plantar fasciitis).

Currently wearing a pair of Danner Vicious comp toe, and a pair of Oboz Bridger 10s when it's really icy (not work boots, but only put a nail through those once, lol).

    Thanks.

    Would you recommend?

Would you recommend this Wolverine MEN'S LOADER 8" STEEL-TOE WEDGE BOOT?

I do light office work but have to walk on a hard concrete production floor a lot. They will not get abused a lot.

Does anyone have them? Are they comfortable?

    Work boots for walking

Hello everyone, looking for a good pair of work boots that are good for walking. I’m a commercial hvac technician, I walk around 15k steps in a shift. Anybody have a recommendation for something that looks and feels good? Currently wearing the redwing Irish setters and feet hurt at the end of the day. Tried insoles, doesn’t seem to help. Don’t need a safety toe, would like them to be waterproof. TIA

    Lightweight WP safety boots

I’m looking for suggestions on quality work boots that are lightweight, waterproof, and have a safety toe of some form. Preferably 8”+ in height.

(If weights are known that would be helpful)

    Recommendations

Hello I do pest control and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good work boot that will last a while and is comfortable. I don’t need steel toe and would like a boot that can be resoled to get a longer overall life span.

    Sliding forward in Danner quarry

I just picked up a pair new pair of Danner quarry waterproof comp toe. First pair of lace up boots in years, I have been wearing pull on boots for a long time. I wanted American made, safety toe, waterproof boots. I tried on Thorogood which were too narrow in the toe. So the employee at the store mentioned Danner had more room in that area. I tried what I would normally wear 10ee, a size up and a size down just to be sure. When sitting and standing they seem to fit fine but when I start walking my feet slide forward and make them uncomfortable.

In the last 2 weeks they have seen some abuse at work and I have tried dr scholls and Superfeet insoles. I have tried the surgeons knot to lock in the heel, which helps but does not get rid of the problem. And tons of other combinations of lacing my boots in between also trying to keep them somewhat loose or really tight.

Can anyone throw out any other ideas?

Outdoor Work Boots for a Weekend Warrior

Hello everyone! I am looking for a pair of boots for outdoor use. I'll mostly be using them for general outdoor "clean up" homeowner work such as digging out stumps, chainsaw work, chopping wood, garage work etc etc. They will not be used daily.

I want a 6 inch boot, preferably wide as well. I don't want steel toe, but I wouldn't be opposed to some type of safety toe. I'd like something water resistant but doesn't need to be full on waterproof (but that would be a nice bonus). I value comfort & durability, without breaking the bank. Since I am not a professional, I have a really hard time looking at expensive (anything over 150) boots. Let me know your thoughts!

Edit: I am coming from cheapo wal mart boots, so I'd imagine almost anything different is a luxury!

Could I make Jim Greene black Jim Green barefoot ranger boots able to take a polish?

If I a lot of some kind of leather conditioner in these, like Huberds, would I people able to polish them?

My new job unfortunately requires polishable boots, I'd like to get some that are zero drop with a wide toe box. I am aware of the military style ones, but they have little padding and aren't very comfortable.

Here are the boots in question: https://jimgreenfootwear.com/store/african-ranger-barefoot-boot-houston-black/

Every pair of boots fall apart here or on the inside of the heal. No matter what brand or cost. Any tips? Maybe I just walk funny? I'm on my knees a lot and bend my toes a lot but there's gotta be a boot that's designed to handle this. For more than a couple months.

I've given up on expensive boots because the cheap ones from big box stores last just as long. The longest lasting pair I had where a 70 dollar pair of Dickies that I only retired because the soles where worn flat. Lasted almost two years. I'm just know realizing as I type this those where not steel toe and that would kinda make sense lol. Anyways still just looking for some insight. Thanks
