the saabworld website is down and it seems like they have the instructions for which color wire goes to which pin on the back of the turn signal stalk. any insight or instructions? thanks!
In this age I don't really see why we can't reinvent the brand. My thought would be to appeal to the US market an electric or turbo truck - yes I said truck. I owned a 89 900 Turbo and it will always be the car I never can get over - performance but really its utility. Using those style clues here is my take on an off road Saab for 2025. This turned out slightly better than I expected. Thought I would share.
Has anyone seen this unit in reality, installed it in 2008+ 9^3?
Hi, i got a 2008 93 Ttid aero. I had a limited performance code a few weeks ago. The local garage said, i have to clear my pdf. I done that with a special dpf cleaner company and the code disappeared. It was good for like 2 weeks and yesterday on the highway the code appeared again. The performance limited ofc, I cant go over the firs quarter of the turbo gauge etc. as like before the dpf cleaning neither. Anyone has any advice, what should be my next step? Somebody said i should to check my injectors but what should I look for if this is a good line to follow? I dont want to change all four of the injectors if I dont need to, because its a bit expensive. Thanks for the advices.
I've been slowly fixing this car up with the help of a wonderful friend, but I've got no knowledge for electrical, and I worry that's what this is. I'm asking in the hopes its a common problem and a decent fix we can jam together.
When I click the key fob to lock or unlock the doors, sometimes all of them lock, or unlock. Sometimes the passenger side unlocks - front and back, others, all but driver's door, and sometimes, none. The same thing happens when I use the lock all switch on the door - but it seems to be more responsive, a little, or I'm fooling myself.
I've thought of starting with replacing the battery for my key fob - it's damaged, but alright - but the similar experience using the lock/unlock switch makes me think it's something else.
I'd love some help if you've seen this problem before.
I recently found a turbo x for sale near me for 6.5K. It seems to be in perfect condition mechanichally, but the previous owner swapped out the amazing turbo x wheels for the alloy wheels from a 9-3 2.0T, the headlights are foggy, and the clear coat is faded. If I buy it, this will be my first car
EDIT: i forgot to mention mileage. it has 178K
I got my 9-3 scanned and cyls 1 and 2 need plugs and coils, and are misfiring. It might be a while(few weeks) until I can get it into a shop. It’s shaking pretty bad :( but will I be fine to keep using it for essentials like work until I can get it fixed? I’m taking it real easy now of course, no more flooring it

Have you guys any tips to what it could be?
So my 900T16s from 1993 has some questionable features with a aftermarket driver seat like a simple Saab 900 seat in horrid condition thin black leather but I found out the rest of my seats are factory with the ruby seats with the wool midparts WTF
With enough info I post some pictures to show what I’m seeing
Any advice for mechanics I can go to in the Chicago area? I have a 2007 93, and it’s difficult finding mechanics that will work on my vehicle. A lot of places won’t touch a Saab. And some have a lot of difficulty finding parts. The car runs well, and is like to keep it for at least another 2 years. Finding a good Saab mechanic will help with that.
Greets,
I have a 2001 2.0t 9-5 with 2 zone digit climate. I already fixed the blend doors, but i got a new fault for sensor ground (?). Any idea what could it be? I didn't move any sensors or cables before the code came up (it came up before the blend door fix, so it wasnt the sensors in the front legroom ), and i have no idea where to look. I tried to search it on many forums, but it looks like noone ever got the code 23 lol. Anyone got any idea?
So basically I have a 1999 Saab 9-3 SE cabriolet. I have driven up from where I live around 190 miles to my gfs for a few days and after getting here I got a warning on my SID to fill the coolant tank. I knew my coolant was running a little low and probably should have replaced it sooner, but I only reminded myself the night before heading up 🤷♂️
Anyway, I’ve ordered g48 coolant and distilled water. I don’t want to just top up the old coolant as I don’t really know what the last owners have done or used so am planning a flush by removing the lower radiator hose as most ppl seem to recommend that over the plug. However, I don’t know if I will be able to do it as I am limited by tools available.
If I can’t, is it alright to top up my coolant tank slightly with the distilled water and drive home, around 190 miles (4hr drive)? Cheers
I’ve been looking for a new car, and stumbled upon a 2002 Saab 9-3 anniversary edition for about 900eur (I’m from Denmark and the car is also. It costs about 7000DKK which is VERY cheap for a car here, as we have a lot of extra charges when buying a car) it’s got some rust in 2 of the panels, but I recon I can fix that. The info display as bad pixels (might also be able to fix it) it’s driven 280xxx km and has been serviced every 12xxx km with service book. It has about 10 months MOT left.
Should I buy or pass? I don’t know how the engine is doing and if the chassi has any rust.
( 2006 9-5 estate) Hey all, recently my temp gauge drops to 0 after about 15-20 minutes of driving or idling. Coolant never reaches operating temp. (Thermostat stuck open?) Replaced temp sensor and problem continues. Any chance the gauge shuts off due to temp not getting high enough? Or is this more likely an electrical issue? TIA
I read somewhere that the Saab 9-5 got RWD after 2008, but I don’t trust the source. Is it true?
Problem definitely seems to be ignition related but I def wanna get it diagnosed by a real Saab mechanic. There’s one at a Mazda dealership fairly close. On another note, does anyone know any reputable Saab shops around Cleveland Ohio?
