I know it's much more difficult to perform on the auto because of dropping the subframe which is connected to the auto tranny.
My question is does anyone have a Chilton/Haynes manual they can snap some photos of? Pretty please with a cherry on top.
She has 148k miles, recently got a machined head about 15k ago. Had the head gasket replaced with a new head that was machined.
I've had her for over 10 years and want to keep a good Saab on the road.
Ty y'all
I’m looking to sell my 2001 9-5 2.3t 5mt wagon with 130k miles located near Olympia, WA, USA. I picked it up about 8 months ago and used it as my daily with a 200+ mile road trip thrown in now and again and it ran great, got good boost, did all the Saab things I could have hoped for. I’ve done oil changes every 3-4k but other than that I haven’t done anything with it, nor had the previous owner, so it’s completely stock as far as I know. All internal electronics work, the only known electronic issue is that the brights stopped working a few months back but I never drove at night so it was not an issue for me.
The problem arose when it died on me on the highway. With a good DIC it’ll run but there’s a rattle (maybe up in the valves) that has slowly gotten worse over time. I had been hoping that it was an exhaust-related issue (throws the occasional P0420 code) but on closer inspection it seems that it’s a bigger problem that I unfortunately have neither the time, skills, or money to address. I could buy an aftermarket DIC and keep running it until it bricks itself but I would rather that someone who could appreciate and use it takes it, even as a parts car.
Feel free to DM me with any further questions.

On the engine read values of the tech 2 display, what does “knock counter” reflect and how is it differentiated between “misfire count” on the tech 2?
Hi, I have over the past few months noticed a slight jerk/judder from the car when engaging the throttle after coasting or braking at low speeds. It's most noticeable when I'm in traffic, coasting or suddenly breaking and then accelerating again. It feels gearbox related.
I had a 1-hour journey today in the city and on two occasions this happened but was much worse, the whole car noticeably juddered when accelerating. That was about half way through the journey and it didn't happen again.
What can I check or is the gearbox on its way out?

Gearbox fluid was changed about a year / 12,000 miles ago
Car is stage 4 noobtune 450nm
Torque rod bushes were both polybushed last year (power flex)
I changed the left engine mount (under the yoke) and the right gearbox mount (behind the battery) about 3 months ago to try to cure excessive vibration when idling in D but there was no difference
No lights or codes
Up to recently I had only had one car - A 2010 acura rdx. It was a great car, very reliable but the issues started getting serious around 230k miles. I have never been a big car guy, but remembered thinking my Dad's saab 900 was magical when I was a kid, there was something about the dashboard and the leather, there was such a unique saab smell every time I got in the car. I looked at used saabs and was surprised how little they go for
I bought a 2006 9-3 aero and first thing I was amazed by was the acceleration, that is A LOT of engine for a little car I got for under 4,000 usd.
When I drove it at night I felt like I was behind the wheel of a vintage synth, or some sort of covert land and submarine vehicle. I absolutely love the lights and the nightpanel mode. As someone who is not a big car dude, maybe it is silly to love a car based on the dashboard at night, but it is such an experience driving it. It made me understand people who love cars... We spend a significant amount of time in our lives in our cars, and when we have something that is a joy to drive, it makes life better. My saab has plenty of issues I am working on haha, but it feels like a unique work of art when I am in it. Like it was made specifically for me. That's the same thing that makes me love certain music and movies, when it feels like it was not made for the masses or to make money (seems like saab wasn't great at that 🤣) but it was made for me specifically to enjoy. That's the wonder of saab to me, it seems like it was designed by people who were creating an experience too. I can only imagine the joy of having a mint pre GM OG saab!
One day I plan to get a 90's hatchback, but for now going to enjoy this 2006 as much as I can and try not to sweat all the small stuff!
Hey guys, ok so im considering buying this 05 9-3 convert because i recently totaled my ‘11 volvo s80 sadly🥲. But the only thing about the car is that its having ECU issues, specifically with it overheating. I’ve experienced an overheating ECU before (with my very first car, an 04 xc70) soo Im kinda familiar with the issue, but i just wanted to get you guys opinions on the issue. I know that a temporary fix if the ECU isn’t to fried would be adding a spacer between the ECU and the intake manifold🤷🏽♂️, but i know that would only reduce the issue and not completely fix if. Again, any advice would be great, and thanks a bunch in advance 😌
Any reccomendations on what I can do with this to prevent it from going too out of control before i get a new piece welded on in the spring?
Hey everyone!
Recently the fuel economy on my Saab has stopped working, it simply shows "---/100km/l" I've tried resetting multiple times but it doesn't work.
Has anyone had a similar issue and knows a fix?
Just picked up a 2000 9-3. It appears the right most switch on the climate control that controls the zone, (windshield/footwell/face) doesn’t actually do anything.
It’s stuck on windshield which I guess is the best scenario.
Is there an easy fix or is this a , open the whole dashboard issue?
I wonder how many times this has been posted in here
1993 Saab 9000, ecu seems to be unplugged and there’s a black box that clicks when I hit the breaks attatched, plugging the board back in seemed to do nothing also
(2002 Saab se 5 door hatch automatic) Hey guys, so I know you all aren’t genies or have magic powers or anything. But I’ve got this coolant leak, and this has happened many times before and it’s aways just been a coolant line that I can fix from up top under the hood, but this time it’s a massive leak coming out from under my front bumper, and under the radiator. It leaks just as fast as I pour it in. So my question is has anyone else had this happen and what was the cause? Also is there a coolant line in the radiator where this could be leaking or would you guess that it is the radiator itself that needs replacing? Leak is more so on the driver side. This is water that is leaking, as we were trying to locate the leak.
Really nice color
