Has anyone replaced the plastic expansion tank on their Saab 93 2.8l v6 with a metal one? If you have where did you get it from and was it worthwhile m? Cheers!
I’m a semi new 2007 Saab 9-3 2.0T because i got the car for very very cheap, but it’s needed some work. I have about $700 in repairs I need to do before the car is in completely mint condition. After that I want to do some mods to make the car a more comfortable daily and also make it look better and stuff. I was wondering if this is too many mods and if $2,250 is too much to spend on this kind of car with already 130k miles and going up. Just want opinions on which ones you guys would and wouldn’t do.by the way the car already has a catback exhaust on it and tune making it 250-255 horsepower.
1989 Saab 900 Turbo convertible power window switch.
I was driving to work and my mas air flow sensor got unplugged and it misfired a couple times and then made a big boom and then I lost all boost (just went from -12 psi to Opsi) it drove fine to work just underpowered and then drain the oil to see if there was any metal( there wasn't) . It had been throwing a mass airflow sensor code, but the second I heard the big boom the absolute air pressure sensor code popped up ( p0100, p1105) after that I checked all the inner cooling and charge pipe tubing to see if there was any rips or tears, and there wasn't. And then went to start back up and it was fine for a moment and then one second later it started misfiring and chopping. And it smelled like unburnt fuel. I took off the catalytic converter to check the exhaust side of the turbo for end play messed up fans and it looks fine. I'm stuck and I don't know what's next..
I have been looking at a 1991 Saab 900 Turbo. Owner has receipts of everything that was replaced or repaired in the car, new convertible roof, new brakes, new power steering system, ect. If I take care of this car and maintain it will it end up being a good daily driver? I am new to Saab and have been doing research, but other opinions are needed on this. I do understand also the lack of parts, as Saab is discontinued. How would I go about purchasing new parts? Thank you to those who take the time to answer.
I understand the purists in here won’t be interested but in case any of y’all are, I’ll be putting my 2005 9-2x Aero up for auction on Cars and Bids sometime in the coming weeks.
I just need to remarry my factory radio and wanted to check if anyone had one
Got her out the garage today to a stretch since it was almost 70 degrees out.
Drove my project 93 Saab 900S to work this morning (1 hour commute). She did great! But I looked out from my work building to see a lovely oil puddle 😅 maybe she's not quite ready
I've been trying to get turbo flutter but no luck. I first tried to plug the vacuum line going from the diverter, turbo spools faster but no flutter sound at all. Will changing Air filter give the sound?
Looking for a Saab as my first car and thought one of these would be great, i am struggling to find some for sales I have managed to have only found one, if anyone knows somebody selling one that would be much appreciated. (Preferably in black)
I was just wondering if anyone knew what to do about this/where to find it
Hi everyone,
Recently picked up an 07 aero 93 convertible anniversary model and the previous owner had put on some shocking tyres to tie himself over before selling it, however i can’t stand them and the car definitely deserves better.
I’m based in Manchester Uk so most of the time it’s cold and rainy so i feel all seasons are the way to go as most mornings it’s definitely below 7c however where im getting confused is on my passenger side i have a tyre size sticker which says 235/45/r17 94w also says the same in the manual as an accepted size however most all seasons are rf/xl and there’s no mentioned of this size including rf/xl however 225/45/r17 94w rf/xl is in the manual with a tick for my engine size.
Should i avoid the 235 with rf/xl and just go for the 225?
Anything I should know going into this replacement it’s for a 2003 9-5 linear I plan to drop the oil pan and check the sludge in the pickup tube I already bought the o-rings and new sealant for the pan.

Hello all! I currently don't own a Saab but I am going to look at one tomorrow, it's a 2008 9-3 2.0T 2 door convertible.
I currently drive a Subaru Forester that has 215/60/16 tires, the Saab has 215/55/16 tires, is that an outrageous enough of a difference to get a small leveling kit to accept bigger tires? Or is it small enough of a difference that I shouldn't have to worry about it?
I only ask because I switch between studded winter tires and regular all seasons for the summer and they tend to get expensive and I can't afford to drop a new set of/when I pick it up.
Thanks in advance!
I broke mine in the process of replacing the spring and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in the file. I am actually surprised the PLA can hold up to me putting it in, but I will let you know updates if it breaks tomorrow on a test drive.
Update: I found another version of the plastic part someone posted but I just posted mine as well on thingiverse but here is the other one I found Designs - Thingiverse. Then this is my version Designs - Thingiverse
Update: It drove really well today did not break but still need to check somethings over to make sure it's going to last.
I’m watching the Grammys right now and this movie ad popped up during the commercial break. I swore I saw a Saab in the ad so I looked up the trailer on YouTube and there it was. A first generation 9-3. Just something cool especially seeing a Saab in a new movie!
These are my babies. 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8L, 6 speed manual. 2010 Saab 9-3 Aero 2.0L 5speed automatic. Just lovely.

I bought my first car in 1968. It was a jet-black 1959 Saab 93. It had 3 port holes on each side of the hood and suicide doors that flipped open like clam shells, ready to catch the wind. https://tubecity.substack.com/p/saab-stories-the-nautilus-23-03-01

Hi guys, I've been looking through videos on Saab unleashed to get android auto set up on my 2009 9-3. I see in some videos, he uses an amp cable from the head unit to connect to the connects2 loom (which I also have).
I see the amp cable from the loom, but only have steering wheel control wires. Do I need to connect the blue and white cable to anything in my case.
The unit I'm using is a JVC KW-M745DBT.
Hello Reddit, I have a question about the first generation Saab 9-3 (1998 - 2003) as a diesel convertible. There was the 2.2 diesel available at that time, but was it also offered for the convertible?
Thank you for your answers, and I wish you all a nice Sunday.
Was wondering if anyone with a tech 2 with globaltis can help me marry some extra keys to my 2009 9-3? Around Schaumburg, IL but I would drive out to where you are if it's not too far.
