Suggest a cool plate number for my Peugeot 406 coupe

The number should start with IS, then 2 numbers and 3 letters. I thought about IS40SIX. Any other ideas?

Seeking Clarification: Active Lane Assist and CarPlay Functionality in a 2008 GT

Could someone please assist me? I've placed a deposit on a 2008 GT from Cargiant, but they don't permit long test drives. I'm trying to determine if the car has active lane assist or if it's simply a warning system without nudging capabilities. I found the feature quite helpful when I drove a new Vauxhall Corsa recently, and I'd like a car with this functionality. However, I'm encountering conflicting information online, with some sources claiming it's standard in all cars, while others suggest it's merely a basic warning system.

Another query I have is regarding CarPlay. Is it frustrating that it doesn't cover the entire screen, or do you eventually adapt to it? These are my concerns.

1.6hdi injector removal

Hi all, after some advice, got the dreaded injectors leaking on my 1.6hdi engine, I’ve got two out but the other two are very hard to move, after two days a can of plusgas and a can of injector cleaner I have them moving side to side with a 13mm socket on the fuel inlet, I cant seem to find a puller for these Bosch injectors, I’ve removed the plastic cam cover and tried to lever but they won’t budge 🤬. There is a Sealey one vs2040 for what seems like VAG Bosch injectors, it looks like it may fit but does have a tiny slide hammer, it bolts to the fuel inlet and loops over to give a central pull.

Does anyone have any leads on a puller that works (without dismantling the injector solenoid off the top if possible)

I have it soaking again and will return to it tomorrow or next weekend 🤪

Thanks for any help 👍

Thought about buying one of those 605 v6, heard about problems with electronics, some say its better to pick one from early years, others say late ones have better electronics. Should i look for an early one or late model years?

307 rear axle camber issue? Aggressive inner edge tyre wear

Can someone shed some light onto this issue?

Basically the rear pair of my last set of summer tyres wore down to the steel belts on the inside, while the outside had a couple mills left. (The car now sat the winter)

The car's rear beam hub shaft measures -2,3 on the left side and -1,2 on the right side. This was with a protractor at home as there's no alignment shop near me. (Also maybe not on perfectly level concrete in our garage) This was with the weight of the car suspended down on jack stands (from the hubs).

I tried searching for camber readings, but only found a quote (from Haynes) for -1,45, which I dont fully trust. Can someone confirm what the readings are supposed to be, and an acceptable limit for them?

Oil temp gauge for 1.6 206CC?

On my 2004 1.6 206CC there is a temperature gauge for coolant but not for oil temperature. Does anyone here know if a gauge for oil temp can be added? Online there is info on replacing the whole gauge panel but I don't want to do that. My interest is an additional gauge. Online I can't find anything about that so I guess it can't be done. But maybe one of you guys knows a webshop that does sells those gauges.

2017 308 1.6 blue hdi clutch.

I have the above motor with 67k miles on it and all is OK. There is an issue with the clutch though however this has been with the car such a long time I'm not sure if it's just the nature of this car of if I have a problem. When moving off sometimes the car will judder, something I know may indicate a clutch problem. It's very slight and usually can be avoided by gently releasing the clutch with a few more revs. So I'm not sure is it my driving style, and no I don't drop the clutch, or if there is an issue which I can't say has got worse but has certainly been experienced over the last 10k+ miles. I do occasionally pull a trailer however it is not that big and never heavy loaded. I have a perception I feel it more with that fitted. So, what do you guys think? I guess if it needs work it's time to consider moving it on, but again how much to change versus sorting an otherwise fine car out and just drive it into the ground, if I haven't already. 😁

Does anyone know if the 408 allure premium 2023 model has heated seats?? I've googled it and it says all models have them fitted standard but I'm not sure that's correct.

3008 Stereo Upgrade

I just got a 2012 3008 Allure... And I'm putting in an Eonon X3 to get Android Auto and just replace the ugly stock stereo.

When I take out the MFD, what functionality will I lose? I've seen the volume/source stalk control will be gone (unless I use a specific Connects2 adapter) but that's not a problem really as the X3 is a touchscreen unit with a volume knob.

I don't have parking sensors to lose, even though I have the button for them in the car..... And even the button for traffic distance too, weirdly (what's going on there).

Basically if my HUD, Cruise Control and dashboard Trip/MPG Counters will all still work with it removed then I'm happy.

I just feel like there's more that will stop working?

And any links to the connectors, cage, fascias you bought would be helpful, as the 'universal' cage I bought has screw holes that simply don't align at all.

Hello everyone. I drive an oldie Peugeot 206, 1.1l from 2005 with petrol engine. I'm thinking about buying an OBD reader and, if you may, do you have any suggestions of which ones should I look for?

508 SW with black badges?

Hey all,

I have a 2021-model 508 SW GT-Line that is fully black.

And lately I've been toying with the idea of replacing the chrome badges by black ones (the badges and the grill are the only chrome details in the car)

I like how the car looks, but I think it would be improved if I replace them with black ones, does anyone have a picture of a 508 like that?

Or... Would you do the same to your car or would you keep the original chrome badges?

GT or GT Line?

Evening

I'm looking at the 508 SW and although the Sport Engineered looks very! Appealing it's a little out of my budget.

I'm just wondering out of the GT and the GT Line which is considered the higher "trim".

Im under the understanding the allure is the entry level trim.

Thanks for any replies

Absolute long shot, hope people with better knowledge can advise me. 2010 Peugeot 207cc 1.6 petrol problems.

Hope you can point me in the right direction and let me know on a 1-10 scale how shagged my car is?

It started with the Anti pollution system failure message showing up, then car lost a load of power and was shuddering when stationary.

Had a look under the bonnet and the first cylinder (and thing that goes in) are covered in oil, the remaining 3 are clean and normal. Changed the spark plug and made the shuddering and power loss less.

Fan stays on regardless of how long driven for about 5 mins after keys are out which is killing the battery forcing a hill start almost every time.

What could have caused these problems and is this car saveable?

oil temperature sensor failure

An engine defect message appeared, but the engine fault light did not come on and soon after, I noticed that the oil temperature display was The temperature started to drop, like in the video. Is it just the sensor or some other problem?

Peugeot 208 GTI prestige engine fan keeps on coming on

Hi guys,

I am not sure if I am just being overly worried about the below but the fan on my 208 GTI (2017) keeps on coming on even after just short distances, sometimes it will be on really hard after not even going above 3k rpm on an around town trip. There is no other issues with the car that I can notice. I had a problem a couple of months ago with a leak in the intercooler which one mechanic missed so I was driving round with a faulty/leaking intercooler for a month or so not sure if that could have caused a sensor or something to become dirty so the fan comes on prematurely? Or is this just how 208 Gtis normally are? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Edit: fan does always go off after about a minute of turning the car off and there is no EML on.

No start after dead battery - Crank but no start (Solved) 308 T9 GTi 1.6 270bhp

I left my car for a few weeks, which led to a dead battery (5v measured by battery charger). Leaving this as a post for future reference.

Car is 308 T9 GTi 270 2017 (Phase I).

After recharging battery to 13v with quick disconnect removed (thankfully battery revived), car cranked with no start after reconnection. Attempted BSi reset and key resync, to no avail.

Surprisingly not too many error notifications, just "Engine fault repair needed".

Connecting an OBD tool to the car, it showed code P1025 only, a code related to VVTi. Car ran fine before being parked, so assumed this was an erroneous code.

Clearing the codes took a few attempts, but cleared fine.

Car now starts.

Peugeot Partner Van ABS light

Hi guys

Just wondering If anyones had this problem before

Just went to view a van, passed MOT a few days ago, (failed on two tyres and the dealer got them replaced)

As soon as I turned the key the ABS light stayed on, and it displayed ABS braking system faulty on the dash.

The dealer was trying to convince me it was just a sensor, could this be the case ?

I am gutted because it was perfect for my needs, but didn't want to hand money over and have issues as it was 100miles away from my home.

Any advice appreciated

Condenser replacement - Expert van

Hi all

Aircon hasn't been working since I purchased my van last year (I was aware of this when buying). It's a 2010 2.0.
Compressor wasn't kicking in when AC button pressed. It can freely rotate, so I know its not seized. I suspect a leak as the compressor won't start if no pressure.

Took it to Kwik-fit for a gas as if they don't get it cooler, you get your money back. They said it wouldn't take it and there is a leak on the system. So least got that confirmed.

Asked my local garage to have a look when it was in for an MOT and they confirmed it needs a new condenser.

I'm reasonably DIYish, and would like to start doing more bits on my vehicles so just wondering if this is an ok DIY job? If so, can anyone give any tips? It's got no gas in currently do don't need to worry about that. The bit of reading I've done suggests its a front bumper/grill off job, which doesn't look too hard to accomplish? And to be careful with the pipes when removing the old condenser. I know to add a bit of PAG oil to the condenser as well.

Thank you!

Charge to 80%

In the App Store it says, that with the new update you can limit charging to 80%. But I don't see this option anywhere.

Anyone else?
