14) Please don't be blatantly toxic. It's okay to be unhappy or pessimistic, but don't go overboard all the time. "We really suck right now" is fine. "These fucking losers are getting stomped by the worst team in beisbol" is not. (yes, that's an actual post we've had.) Read the room. We can and will ban people for this if it gets excessive.
15) Just because someone disagrees with you about how the team is run doesn't make them a shill. Argue your points in good faith.

Generally, post titles should not be misleading. You don't have to reprint the tweet verbatim like in some other subs, but if it's an inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise misrepresentative title, it will be removed and you will be allowed to resubmit.
16.G) Grimace posts MUST use the Grimace post flair.

If you could steal one feature from another ballpark and put it in or around CitiField, what would you choose?
Where are people getting this from?
I can’t find it.
In keeping with Stearns and the Mets prioritizing up-the-middle defense (as they should) and just solid major leaguers in general, why not sign Kim? He can play 2B and you can put Mauricio at third and Acuna in CF (or let Mauricio and Acuna battle for 3B). Or if you want Acuna at 2B you can sign Kim for 3B. He’s not going to be too expensive and he’s in his prime years.
His bat might only be league-average at best, but we’ve seen that offensive stats can be misleading for players of this caliber… Taylor had great defense, and his offensive stats didn’t tell the full picture. Even Bader had great clutch hits in the first half of the season and we wouldn’t have been in the postseason without either of them.
(By the way, I wholeheartedly understand the value McNeil provides as a left-handed bat with defensive versatility, but I’m personally not a fan of him, his attitude, his massive cold stretches, and his general lack-of-vibes and difficulty connecting with our MVP who just so happens to be his DP partner. I’m all for exploring Jeff on the trade market to see what the Mets could get for him. By all means, keep him if there isn’t a valuable trade offer but I’d be fine moving on from him if the price is right.)

Saw this at an art expo for my kids’ school — the theme was “accepting imperfection.”
After we all exchanged heartfelt waves with him as he took the field
Got back in to baseball card collecting and jumping in to breaks and my main pic for teams are the Mets. They've been good to me to say the least.
Hey does anyone have a rough ball park price on season tickets for the Mets 2025 season? If anyone has season tickets what’s the perks ect.
LETS GO METS! ⚾️
Laiky Uribe from the Dodgers is now our Assistant International Scouting Director. Back in September, we hired James Kang as our new Director of International Scouting from Cleveland (but was with the Dodgers for three years before last).
Just wanted to post this because its these types of Cohen investments that will be huge dividends down the line, moreso than some player acquisitions we discuss.
☝🏼
Or put more simply, how can we match the production of 2024 in 2025?
There are 6 positions where we can potentially make changes compared to 2024. We absolutely wont make upgrades to all 6 positions but upgrades in one position have downstream effects to the other positions.
CF, RF, 1B, DH, 2B,3B
How much value did the Mets get from those 6 positions in 2024?
2024 Value in WAR-
1B- 2.1
CF- 2.6
RF- 1.6
2B -3.6
DH - 0.5
3B - 4.7
Total- 15.1
2025 Fangraphs Depth Chart Projected value in WAR(with no signings)-
1B Mark Vientos - 2.4
2B Acuna/Mcneil - 2.1
CF Taylor/Gilbert - 2.1
RF Jeff/Marte - 1.1
DH - 0.9
3B Baty- 2.2
Total - 11.3
Add Soto - + 6 War (Soto to RF, Marte to DH)
Add Pete- + 1.8 WAR (Add Pete, Move Mark back to 3B)
Add Christian Walker- +1.8 WAR
Add Bregman - +1.4 WAR
Add Santander - +1.4 WAR
Bellinger (CF) - +0.2 WAR
Gleyber Torres - +0.5 WAR
Joc Pederson - +1 WAR
Scenarios-
Sign Pete/Walker, Santander, and Gleyber = +3.7, 15 total WAR
Sign Pete/Walker and Soto = + 7.3, 19.1 total WAR
Takeaways-
This is completely meaningless. They are numbers on a page and not real life.
Fangraphs really likes Taylor, Baty and Acuna. It does not like Pete lol.
Sign soto. He fits this team like a glove.
Disclaimer- I am using fangraphs projections here which are meaningless and do not reflect real life. I also took liberties with the some numbers here and there depending on PAs and stuff. This is just for my own enjoyment but I thought I’d share in case anyone was interested. Please don’t come at me, this was all napkin math.
If people enjoyed this, next I’ll look at pitchers and players they can go after in the trade market. Also if there’s anyone I missed you’d like to see, let me know.
Edit: I believe I screwed up the 2024 3B and 2B values because for some reason fangraphs applies Iglesias total WAR to both positions when I look at 2B and 3B WAR. I’m too lazy to fix it but keep that in mind.
What do you think the Mets lineup and rotation could look like next year? Here’s my take:
Bench:
Starting Pitchers:
Bullpen:
Would love to hear some good stories for why folks love their favorite Met.
I’ve been a fan for my whole life and truth be told, I haven’t quite decided on who my favorite is.

Ok genuine question, let’s say I was to post a funny meme or video making fun of the Phillies after they lose to the Mets. Is that allowed here or no? I’m just curious. I like to have fun on Reddit. This subreddit seems super serious all the time so I’m just curious. Thanks :) LGM
I just watched the 5th inning debacle. What a horror.
The first error by Judge was bad…but shit happens and you (and your team) move on. I think he catches that fly ball from Hernandez 9/10 times. But all those errors were in his head. It would’ve taken a great, but not spectacular, play. He makes that catch, they escape disaster.
