I really enjoy watching videos on a channel called Teti's Knit Garden on YouTube. I love the silky, soft and yet still rustic way her knits look. I'm wondering if something like this can be achieved with Tunisian crochet. I'm an intermediate crocheter and I'm just finishing up my first Tunisian pattern. I grew up using cheap acrylic yarn and have only just gotten into natural fibers a few years ago, but most of my stash is from estate sales or thrifting. I don't know what kind of yarn I would need or if any patterns similar to this exist, but I really want to make a sweater like this one: https://youtu.be/-iHQZJulWl4?si=CMO_0J5dBGuI6LrU
Any thoughts?
My kid wants a balaclava for Christmas.
I see lots of patterns and videos for regular crochet, but next to nothing for tunisian. Why is this?
Is it to do with the hole?
I'd like to work with what I know, which is essentially blankets. I see lots of videos for beanie hats that I can totally understand. I can see that a balaclava is basically a long beanie.
Is it the hole, the shape of the hole, or just that its not a particularly nice medium for a balaclava?
The child wants a balaclava with an eye hole. Not a hole for the face. Imagine a drug dealer but in a fetching blue colour.
recently started tunisian crochet and i LOVE it, really solves the issue that i dislike knitting but love the outcome. only problem is that i cant find decent patterns anywhere. i like to make clothes, and baby bits for all of my nieces, and bags etc but i cant find any tunisian patterns that aren’t blankets or cushions. would anyone know any creators or resources that have patterns of a similar theme to normal crochet? thanks!

Hi all, I really like Tunisian crocheting but I have started to get a lot of hand and wrist pain when I work for more than like 30 minutes. I use a bunch of straight hooks/non-chorded, so I am holding all the work. Do you think that switching to a chorded hook set would help reduce hand pain?
Hello! I want to make a really soft blanket for adults, and I am struggling to choose a yarn. I would rather order than buy in a store because there are more and cheaper options online. But this means I can't touch the yarn. I am leaning towards acrylic. From what I read so far I am between Caron Simply Soft or Bernat Softee Chunky. I don't mind the thickness. I want to make a really big blanket (roughly 180cm*210cm). My main concern is the softness and then durability of the blanket and I would like variability in colours available. Thanks!
Every stitch I’ve swatched ends up looking like this on the back and idk why???? Is this normal? Please help! I’m new to Tunisian Crocheting 🧶
This one took me longer than expected. Unfortunately, I went and smashed my right hand. It still hasn't really recovered. But I can now crochet at least in small amounts without too much pain. The next panel has more colorwork so no telling how long it will take with my hand not wanting to heal. But I'll finish this eventually.
I’m working on the popular Lamia Wrap, but the Increased side keeps forming a curve (red line on image). I’m already using a hook 1.5mm higher than recommended.
Any suggestions?

Hey yarn junkies,
Can anybody help me figure out how to do a "closed cast on" for Tunisian crochet in the round? I've used a couple closed cast-ons when knitting toe-up socks but I'm struggling to figure out a good way to do that with Tunisian... Using a double ended hook and two colors, so it could even involve a second yarn maybe?
Hi all, this is my first post. I have this really cool scarf pattern that uses what the author calls the “Tunisian Chantilly Stitch” (TChS). I have read her directions for it, but I’m just not getting it. I’ve looked online for a video or another guide to this stitch, but nothing comes up. Did the author make up this stitch or does it happen to go by another name? I’m new to Tunisian crochet. Any help would be much appr!
Hi! I'm brand new to tunisian crochet and was wondering what the wrong side of the smock stitch looked like? From what I gathered I think it'd just look like regular simple stitch backside..? If anyone wants to send pictures of the wrong sides of their projects and what stitch it was I'd greatly appreciate it!!
I’m new to this I’d like to create my youngest a blanket with her name it. I’ve watched a couple of videos but they’re not very detailed. I’m trying to figure out best way to do color changes for it. I’d imagine it’s not like doing it in a single or a c2c. Please help looking for advice links the best place to learn. Even if I have to pay for the tutorial. Thank you in advance.
First time trying Tunisian crochet and everything else looks great, but I don't know what's up with this edge. Please help, how do I fix it? I'm trying to make a shawl for Thanksgiving
So my wife simply mentioned "long handled Tunisian crochet hooks set". I have no idea what I'm looking at or for or what would be good. Help!
What are some stitches that are both thick (and warm), as well as no-curl? I saw a list of stitches marked by how much they curl, but am having trouble parsing through the resulting fabric thickness.
I'm making a winter scarf for sub-zero (Fahrenheit) weather.
I might have some fun, and play with a couple stitches (like a functional stitch sampler), but I don't want the recipient to get unnecessarily cold as a consequence.
I'm looking at no-curl, b/c space is limited for blocking large objects.

Hey everyone, I have a regular crochet pattern that calls for 99 foundation single crochets. I can't get the tension right on them so I'm wondering. Would a Tunisian foundation row work as well? The pattern doesn't say you can do a regular chain then single crochet for the first row or I'd do it that way. And should I do 99 stitches?
I’m quite new to Tunisian crochet and got cables in all sizes. My little crochet basket turned into a mess with all these cables, keys and stoppers. I found this case from knitpro and it’s perfect to organise all these cables and accessories. The pouches on the right house my stoppers, keys and extenders.
