Looking for a copy of "An effective new cable : a long sleeved pullover for men on the War and Home fronts"

This might be a long shot but does anyone have a copy or know where I can find the 1940s bestway leaflet "An effective new cable : a long sleeved pullover for men on the War and Home fronts"? I was using the copy on Internet archive and I (perhaps foolishly) didn't save it so I'm sol while they're down.

I finished the back panel and had just finished the ribbing on the front, hoping I can find the pattern again so I can finish it in time for Christmas!

“Apron belly” body type and looking to see which era has non-maternity suggestions

Hey. I’ve been a knitter many years and have experience with modifying a few vintage patterns, but I am in no way an expert. I’m the BBW with the disproportionate Apron Belly shape screwing up my vintage fashion viewpoints. Yes, I know the pattern photos don’t match the reality of body shapes back then either! That’s where I have burned out because I’m seeing mostly just bed coats and maternity styles for that body shape. Does anyone have an idea on which era would be the most easily modified to minimize a belly that doesn’t rely on a skirt at waist level or shape wear? Or even which publisher would be a good start. Ideas?

Berni Yates’ Racy Car-Digan

My friend found a hand knitted cardigan in a charity shop years ago and I have been trying to find the pattern to knit it for ages. I know it’s the Berni Yates Racy Car-Digan and the pattern was published in Elle magazine, I believe it was published in 1984. I was wondering if anyone has the pattern? I have seen a few of the cardigans around but have never been able to find the actual pattern.

Victory!

It’s finally Finished! My Victory Jumper! I used Bernat Cassino that I thrifted from my favourite thrift store. I‘ll post a pic of me in it once I find a good pair of trousers. I’m knitting a snood to match and I have vintage jewelry to go with it.

Has anyone knit this before? It's adorable 😍 I'm struggling with the abbreviations. For example, what does w.1frt mean?

Seeking Patons 565 "Wilderness Knits" pattern booklet (1993)

Hi! I have been searching far and wide for the 1993 Patons 565 pattern booklet "Wilderness Knits." Especially the "Caribou" sweater pattern from the cover. I have even tried contacting Yarnspirations who owns Patons, but even they don't have it in their archives.

This is a very sentimental pattern booklet that my mom knit through when I was young, and I'm definitely not a strong enough knitter to recreate these without a pattern. I'd be tremendously grateful for any leads!

Vogue knitting pattern chart spring/summer 2007?

Hello! Does anyone by chance happen to have the vogue knitting spring/summer 2007 cable chart? I've attached a picture of the pattern.

I have the physical magazine which directs you to vogue knitting's website for the cable chart. This unfortunately is now a broken link. I've emailled vogue knitting twice and had no response. I've also tried wayback machine and didn't have any luck there - but this could be me as I'm not very good using that site!

Thanks everyone!

Found this 80's Scottie Dog sweater, and I rlly want to make it!!

This was pretty far back on the wall, and the floor was piled with things I couldn't step over, so I couldn't turn it around to see what the back looked like. But by looking it up on Google, the brand is called Spice of Life and it's 100% acrylic.

I didn't buy it, but would love to knit a modified one for myself! I say modified because I don't want to get swallowed up with unflattery 😅 also, I want to try to make this from wool, too.

If you have any tips for me, plz let me know! I've never actually took on a vintage project without a pattern.

Yarn weight/crochet hook equivalent for Dawn Bulky yarn?

Hello,

I would like to make this pattern (it's crochet I know but I thought I'd ask here since I knit too) and I'm having a hard time finding what yarn weight to choose, as well as the size of the crochet hook. If I have to guess size G is a 4.25 but I'm unsure. It's my first vintage pattern so sorry if it's a stupid question!

“GEM” HAT and BAG YARN, Article 144.
12 (13, 14) skeins Pink or any color desired.
or
“DAWN” BULKY YARN 12 (13, 14) skeins Shell Pink.
Wooden crochet hook No. 13 and aluminum crochet hook size G.
4-1 ¼ inch pearl buttons.

Chadwick's Red Heart Knitting Worsted replacement needed

I need a replacement for the yarn in the title. Production is discontinued, and deadstock yarn is quite expensive. I prefer yarn available in European Union. Thanks in advance 🌷❤️

Finished the Lace Bed Stole

Found this free pattern from 1952, and finally finished it. Used it as procrastination while studying.

I love the description, "ideal for the convalescent who needs a light and pretty shoulder covering." and the picture really sells this IMO.

Actually really easy and fast knit, if you dont put it down for multiple weeks at a time. I added 10 extra rows for each cuff, to make them a bit longer.

Thirfted the needles (2 1/4 mm) and yarn.

Ravelry link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacy-bed-stole

The actual pattern is at Trove, an online archive of old newspapers, etc.

My project page with my notes: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/birdrib/lacy-bed-stole

I hope others are inspired to knit this, I think its so pretty and versatile.

I think it would look great in greens/blues, as the lace reminds me of waves.

Or a blood red/bone white/black, as the bell sleeves look very victorian goth to me.
