It doesn't matter if you're a man or woman. You just have to be a bro.
Brochet, a subreddit for bros who crochet.
Hello all and welcome to /r/Brochet. Here you can post your WIP (Works in progress), finished projects, and project ideas. Feel free to post any patterns you brocheters come across, as well as anything you may be looking for.
Whether you're a dudebro or ladybro or whatever other kind of bro you are, you're more than welcome here
If you want to post a link to something that costs money, like a pattern or supply deal, save it for Free-Market Fridays. If it's a limited-time sale or something that you just can't pass up sharing, it may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Please try to flair your posts so other users can filter easily. It's not a strict rule, but it would be appreciated.

I'm making a blanket for my parents for Christmas, because me being me i decided to make the biggest presents i ever have for everyone when i was already short on time, but i cant choose a pattern. My first choice was Magnificent Marge by Colleen O'neal (which I've made before and know i can have done by christmas) but last time i made it it was in weight two yarn and my dad didnt like it because of how holey it was, which was fine since it was just for me, but would it be better in a weight five yarn (which is what i have for this) or should i steer clear of that pattern since he didnt love it last time? The other one i picked was Study Of Snow by The Crochet Crowd (which i haven't made before but know i can have done before christmas) but I'm not sure if it would look good in my yarn, which is Caron Colorama halo in the colorway Sea & Sky. I'm also very open to other options if anyone has any, but i would prefer free patterns if possible, not to be a cheapo or anything i just already spent way too much on these presents lolš ...Also I'm not too worried about how long they take, im a pretty fast crocheter and if its not quite done by christmas then I'll just have to tell them its not quite done lol
Except itās a Christmas gift and thereās a deadline for it so you just have to get it done but the pattern is complicated and youāre too far into it to try a different one š
Is anyone else expecting Monkey D Luffy for Christmas?
Howdy y'all!
I'm hoping to ask for your help - looking for a thoughtful crochet present for my partners 9 year old nephew. He is THE sweetest boy. But he is so hard to read as far of what he's actually into.
We asked his mom what about his interests and he said "videogames and weird books" and wasn't able to elaborate beyond that he plays fortnite. He is also in drama in school, and he enjoys that. He once mentioned that whales are cool, I asked him if they're his favorite animal and he said na, that he doesn't have a favorite. Having never been a gamer or a drama kid, I'm having a hard time coming up with an idea of what to make him that he will like.
I feel bad because his siblings are getting very personal gifts - his lil brother loves green and dinos, and is getting a dino hat, older sister loves penguins and scrunchies and is getting an amigurumi penguin and scrunchies. Very straightforward kids. I don't want him to feel left out!
Thank you so much in advance for your help!! I really appreciate it bros!
TL;Dr: looking for gift/ pattern ideas for sweet 9 year old boy who likes fornite, weird books, drama club, and kind of sorta likes whales
This blanket is so fun :) Definitely not perfect but Iām glad itās going relatively smoothly so far. Also I didnāt have sheets on my bed bc they were in the wash, donāt judge me š
Hello! So Iām not very close with my dad and I find making men gifts so hard bc I never know what theyād acc like. So any tips or links to patterns would be amazing. In the meantime look what I made my mum.
With a ridiculous looking pompom.
Bigger than I could get in the picture! Two hundred fifty-five squares total!
Iām stuck at home sick. I just finished a baby blanket last weekend and the rest of my WIPs feel uninspiring (or too complicated to do while sick)
I have a ton of cursed (yes, I DID start a blanket for my ex boyfriend a month before we broke up, leave me alone about it) navy blue wool ease thick and quick thatās been sitting in the back of my closet for over a year now that Iād really like to use up.
Do you have a favorite free or cheap bulky blanket pattern youād be willing to share? Something that uses 1 color but maybe an interesting stitch or a handful of different stitches so the end result is visually interesting?
Thanks!
(The mod on the regular crochet page took this post down and directed me to the āhow to get startedā section of their sidebar, but Iām mostly interested in the conversation of why you liked a pattern or what you found interesting about it. I donāt need āhow toā or instructions. The post is just for fun)
This is probabaly kinda niche but Iāve been looking at this (this is the āreniculusā top you can put on your avatar in PokĆ©mon Go) and I feel like this would be a fun crochet project. Do you bros have any recommendations for a good yarn for this? Texture or color!
